hmm,. I haven't had that with any of my pregnancies.
i'd ring your midwife in the morning and ask her? might be routine in yiour area or something

Kitteh · 29/11/2008 23:26

I dont know if i worded it right.. it says... "an appointment, combined with a dating scan, has been made for you with MR BLAH BLAH BLAH GYNAECOLOGIST AND OBSTETRICIAN at the Ante Natal clinic..

But surely if they're already giving me one on the 4th.. they wouldnt on th 10th.. god im worrying myself silly now.. lol..

Kitteh - firstly, are you in the UK?
Have you had previous mc or anything like that?
Is late for a dating scan - usually done at 12ish weeks. Could your dates be wrong/did you have trouble getting an appt?

Yeah, im from the uk.. no problems before.. Its a late dating scan cos firstly i was doing the cambridge diet which messed with my periods.. and i assumed the first missed one was just the diet.. oops.. then.. i wasnt registered with a gp.. or anything.. so i needed to do that.. then make my first appointment.. and she wasnt even gonna give me a dating scan.. just a one in like.. 4 weeks.. so it was shock when i got the dating scan through.. and then that.. x

In my Trust late bookers are always offered an appointment with an obstetrician. Don't know why but it is standard (according to my maternity notes), so nothing to worry about. I am sure it is the same for you

TheProvincialLady · 30/11/2008 10:33

Oh and sometimes a mistake is made - my MW ticked the wrong box on my notes and so I was sent an appointment for the specialist MW (who deals with people who are HIV positive - which I am not).

lauraloolajinglesalltheway · 30/11/2008 10:34

Have you been to your GP about not being able to concieve???

I did and then found out I was pregnant and they had already booked me an appointment for some tests and a scan to see why I couldnt get pregnant.

We asked at our booking scan if the sonographer knew what it would be for and she had a look at my records and cancelled it.

festivedollyx · 30/11/2008 13:03

Ive had my dating scan but i have an appointment with the ob 2mrw, im in scotland and some obs like to see you even though its prob the only time you will see him, If you are going to have an epidural here you have to see ob same as if you are going to hosp and not mlu/or going to a hosp out of your district they will see you really its nothing to worry about.

Kitteh · 30/11/2008 13:11

never been to the gp about not being able to conceive..
I am overweight.. do you think this could be it.. my midwife was lovely about it.. "you're overweight.. but im guessing you know this".. erm.. thanks.. lol.. im in the north east of england.. im praying its just something they do.. or whatever.. lol.. x

It could be. Could you phone your midwife to ask?

Kitteh · 30/11/2008 13:48

can you phone on a sunday? or is that just a silly question?

OP posts:
Jackstini · 30/11/2008 14:43

If it is really worrying you, they will have emergency cover on a Sunday. If you can stick it out until tomorrow you will definitely get hold of someone.

a massive thanks to you lot.. my OH said he thought if it was anything serious they would have seen me before the 10th.. i guess hes right.. hugs for you all.. lol x x

festivedollyx · 30/11/2008 18:43

Oh thats the other thng i meant to say yes i agree with other posters if you are overweight they will refer you to ob. i was because i was "overweight" (bmi is a load of crap imo but a lot of mlu need u to be bmi 30 or under)but if he thinks you are healthy enough and not high risk he can refer you back to mw care. This is my 3rd baby and i have been overweight since first and gained in all three pgs and never had any probs through labour or pg with it. In fact my mw has commented on how healthy i am and how brilliant my pg is progressing considering my bmi is "above average"

Kitteh · 30/11/2008 21:32

Thanks festivedolly =).. i feel a lot calmer now.. phew.. im literally such a laid back person.. lol.. but i was soooo panicy.. silly me.. Im quite looking forward to the scan now.. hehe.. x
