Tee2072 · 02/12/2008 12:22

Hmm, should I rub it in that it is about 10 here and perfectly sunny?

Anyway, had a successful mornings shopping. If anyone is looking for maternity clothes, New Look has tons of stuff. I got 3 pairs of trousers, a skirt, 2 shirts and a dress for just about £100. That should keep me going until Mamas and Papas opens on 14th Dec in our new mall and I can see what they have!

I am exhausted! Not easy trying on clothes while carrying a passenger!!

pwcbird · 02/12/2008 12:39

Hello. Long time and all that. Nice to see that you're still chatting and that there are some new ladies too.
Well I thought I'd pop in, after all this time, and give you an update (if you can remember that far back ). It's taken 4 months but basically everything came back as negative/normal from the post mortem and blood tests... no infection...no abnormality etc. We're still waiting for 1 blood test result back which apparently is floating around in cyberspace on their computer system 'lost'. Fingers crossed that one is ok.

However.... I just did a test yesterday and got a BFP! So, here we go again. Feel very anxious but hopeful - got be hopeful. We saw the doctor this morning (actually had an appt already booked for a consulatation) so he's booked me in for an early 6 week scan on 15th.

Let's just hope eh?

Glad all is ok with you - sending many smiley faces to you all. xxx

lilibet · 02/12/2008 12:41

Just a flying visit but..............

Guess who skidded into someone this morning?

The good news it that it is on the side of the car that had already been scraped so I can get that sorted as well.

Tee2072 · 02/12/2008 13:03

I hope everyone's okay lilibet! That must have been scary!

Hi pwcbird, I'm one of the new ones, nice to meet you! Congrats on your BFP! I'll be keeping good thoughts for you!

jeanjeannie · 02/12/2008 13:22

OMG!! OMG!!! OMG!!!! PWBird HOW FAB!!!

Look everyone pwcbird is BACK!!!!!

Oh wow - what brilliant Pre-Xmas news....well done you , I'm thrilled. Gosh I have missed you - news from Croydon and all that So pleased you're back. Can imagine it is scary, but the good news is that you had all the tests done and they're all negative. I have everything crossed. Mind you that's largely cos I don't want to get preggie again - meh
Well pull up a chair and have some cake old bean! xx

jw gosh I heard the roads were bad - well, that's one thing you don't have to worry about today.

lilibet Whooops you daft bat

ladymac love the mint scraper! I use one of the round tins of sweets that old people have!

Gosh - parallel universe. Iris's lumps are haemangeomas (sp?) and one is on her forehead and appears to be buried as it's not red like the others. She has a big one on her back and another above her belly button - both are shrinking but like you they were thinking of injecting - or liposcutioning them. We go to Prof Harper's Clinic - he's fab. The forehead one looks like it's also shrinking - they just need to make sure it's not doing anything it shouldn't. We're there every 6 mnths too!

The eye thing is mainly cosmetic. It's like one eye in particular looks almost Japanese - and it's hard for the tear duct to operate at times. Luckily there is no rush for possible op....phew!

Didn't have sushi - Verity was having none of it - had to come home and placate her with a bit of mashed banana!! I did pass Greggs and was momentarily tempted by the festive pasty

ladymac · 02/12/2008 13:39

Wow pwcbird what great news. I was lurking (only just pregnant) when you went through your terrible time. I am thrilled that you have got a BFP at this time. I expect you will be well looked after by your ante-natal team. Do you know yet if you'll be seen/scanned more frequently? Will be sending lots of positive thoughts your way. How old is your ds now?

Jeanjeannie what lumpy gingers we both have We are under Professor Pierro who has his hands full at the moment with the Siamese Twins. I keep seeing him quoted in the papers so I suspect we will be seeing one of his underlings when we go to GOSH later this month.

hedgepig · 02/12/2008 13:59

PWCBird Oh wow how fantastic - Hedgepig does a little jig around the room skippty skip. what a lovely Christmas pressie.

JJ I'm sure Verity would love a mushed up Festive Pie.

Oliver had his 1st jabs yesterday and so is a bit whiny today, he just wants to be cuddled so I am sitting on the sofa watching murder she wrote yawn yawn

jeanjeannie · 02/12/2008 14:00

ladymac we've now been (thankfully) relegated to Prof Harper's underlings I like it when you get passed on - means nowt nasty is round the corner! We keep hearing our bloke on Woman's Hour and anything else that talks about excema and asthma combined. He was really interesting - told us that unless you had a prem baby then most people keep their places way too clean and sterile. Interesting. No chance of that here

ladymac · 02/12/2008 14:05

Cystic hygromas are also known as lymphangiomas. Suppose the gioma/geoma bit must mean lump or tumour. Listen to me, I'm practically medically qualified . Elizabeth's lump was full of lymphatic fluid and tissue and we were told it would grow with her and that only a very small percentage of them get smaller. So very good news for us at the mo but they say it could grow again. My friend's daughter had her eye operated on, I think before she went to secondary school, she had a very droopy eyelid and had it done for cosmetic reasons. Very successful, you'd never know.

ladymac · 02/12/2008 14:10

Not much chance of that here either jj as I have more than once found Elizabeth tucking in to one of Daisy the dog's rawhide chews She also likes joining Daisy in her basket for a nice cuddle

pwcbird · 02/12/2008 14:22

Awwww shucks - thank you for your lovely messages. Makes me feel all warm

Yes JJ Croydon calling. All very grey and grotty here but since I was last with you they've opened a Costco. Not been to it yet though....

ladymac ds is 2yrs 3m so will be just about 3 if all goes well. Have no idea about scans/consultant stuff yet - maybe this 6 week scan will determine it. My consultant that I was allocated when it all went so wrong last time is not really, well, my cup of tea. He certainly does not possess a 'people person' skill and seems to prefer making notes or talking to his students lurking at the back of the room about my 'non viable pregnancy'. So, I'm going to make an appt with my gp, who's lovely, and have a chat and see what she thinks.

Funny how I've only told my mum so far - DH's mum doesn't know yet - but I can tell you on MN.

I shall try and have a catch up and read back to see what's been going on.

mrsboogie · 02/12/2008 14:42

oh yay pwcbird you're back! you have been missed! fab news no eggnog for you at crimbo then

No danger of overly sterile environs here for Mr D either what with the cat hair getting everywhere (including on one occasion, inside his bottle ) and after popping a dummy in his mouth this morning I realised it was the blue one that had been lying around overnight rather than the fresh blue one from the steriliser.

jeanjeannie · 02/12/2008 16:12

Not been to Costco yet.... pwcbird do you not know what festive goodies and horrors lay inside that store?! I bet you've often wondered where folk get some of their tasteless tatt lovely xmas house adornments from - well, wonder no more On the flip side there are bargins a plenty to be found. Go on - treat yerself!

Cat hairs, LOs eating animal food and chewing stuff off the floor - yep, sounds like JJtowers

hedgepig · 02/12/2008 16:34

I need a drink! I just found Ben picking up Oliver ekkkk we let him hold him sitting down but picking him from his bounch chair was pretty scary to see

jeanjeannie · 02/12/2008 16:53

WHAHH! hedgepig Egg nog with a cherry coming your way. Was it like the way kids pick up cats?! I've an image of Oliver, arms flopped over Ben's while his legs dangle down, toes dragging on the floor

johnworf · 02/12/2008 18:16

Hey pwcbird well done dear Glad to have you back in the fold. You've really been missed And HUGE congratulations! Knew you'd be back up the duff and telling us your news in no time. By my mathemications it'll be a summer baby due in July??

ha ha@ Costco crap! It's a house of horrors come December. There's santa riding his neon sleigh and look, who is that? Why, it's a 9foot tall snowman from a horror film WTF buys that crap? (it's not even cheap crap either).

Well K screamed the place down for a minute or two after her jab and all was once again calm. I saw one of the prems go in before us (remember my MW asking me if I knew this baby from when I was there. I didn't). One half of a set of twins and the nurse said when we went in, it was all skin and bone and the needle touched it's bone when it went in.....remember it well with K although her thighs are more rugby player now. Goes fast doesn't it?

..........talking of which, I was wondering about Mrs Jupiter today. I do so hope she and LO are ok.

Yeah, kids picking up cats; eyes bulging, half strangled puss. At least our dog knows when to take cover.

Hands have now reached embarrassment factor warp overdrive 1000. They're cut and bleeding so much from handwashing that I should be up there on the podium to collect my 'OCD person' of the year prize. Hasten to add I don't have OCD but I'm wondering if I'm on my way

ermintrude13 · 02/12/2008 19:27

Evening all, I've been offline for a couple of days - part of my Let's Get Something Done FFFS! - regime, and it's worked pretty well - have taken deep breaths and managed to clean bathrooms, do ironing and wrap lots of presents, only taking time out to throw up. I was getting bedridden a little too easily....

As ever, what jumped out at me when reading posts I'd missed was boobies! I'll see yours and raise you two - my sis, who had her first babe in Oct, is now 32JJ. Her DP didn't want to email any photos of her b/feeding in case they ended up on the WRONG kind of website.

Reassuring to hear that hygiene levels are uniformly low on this thread - as my nan used to say, you've got to eat a peck of dirt before you die; may as well start early.

hedgepig · 02/12/2008 19:57

ermintrude we have the 10 second rule in our house --- if it has been on the floor for less than 10 secs then you can still eat it .

Bens holding was actually quite good, one hand under the neck and one under the bum but he was standing with ollie held out at arms length in the middle of the lounge. Actually I'm suprised my mini freak out didn't make him drop him.

talking of old friends JJ I hope KAZ & Kezzie are OK do pop in and say hi, if you are lurking my dear .

hedgepig · 02/12/2008 19:58

CAKE obviously has the 20 second rule applied

ermintrude13 · 02/12/2008 20:33

hedgepig, I hope you blow on the food to get rid of the germs first. It really works, like crossing your fingers when you tell a fib

johnworf · 02/12/2008 20:56

Well ladies, tonight was the night. Katherine had her first Calpol cocktail and rather enjoyed it.

We're having sucking knuckles, blowing spit bubbles, biting on her teat and generally grizzling. She's coming up to 3 months corrected and it's far too early for teething so any ideas?

Wb ermintrude Gosh you've been industrious.

hedgepig DH has the 10 second rule too although I tend to put things in the bin that have been on the floor. I must say he's a fairly healthy chap so can't be much harm in it

hedgepig · 02/12/2008 21:30

Could it be the jab she had earlier has made her feel a bit grotty , and she is just chewing for comfort?

johnworf · 02/12/2008 21:37

No idea hedgepig. She's been doing this for a while now, not just tonight. I gave her the calpol just in case her leg was hurting but she's not had a reaction in the past to this jab (there usually isn't a reaction and if there is it's a temperature).

mrsboogie · 02/12/2008 22:08

interesting jw Darragh is doing all those things too - his spit bubbles are leaving the neck of his clothes drenched. He never dribbled until about a week ago and also now always has his hand in his mouth chewing away and today started chewing on his bottom lip. No sign of any teeth coming through though.

If Katherine had been born on her due date they would be near enough the same age

OP posts:
mrsboogie · 02/12/2008 22:08

but its not necessarily too early for teething is it?
