We've now filled up the last thread - and the two before that! Seems that there are a lot of us old girls out there getting ourselves into trouble

So - if you've just found yourself to be with child or have a LO and you've hit (or about to hit - we'll let you sneak in just under the radar!)the big 4 0, then come say Hi!

There is always a spare comfy chair - plenty of cake and many old ladies to listen to your moans! Think of the lovely ladies knitting shreddies - only we're not sporting a blue rinse, but wearing cashmere and kitten heels

Hello regular ladies. I avoided putting FAT, F*cked or Knackered in the title - tempting as it was

everyone's having curry - no fair!! I always do a fri night curry but I cdn't be bothered tonight as I need to get us sorted for a wedding we are all off to tomorrow. Instead its chicken and black bean stir fry.

With wine [

mrsboogie · 31/10/2008 18:07

I don't feel sorry for Ross either but I do agree with Jimmy Carr - and Terry Wogan - its an awful fuss over nothing. Apparently Brand resigned in an attempt to save that editor woman from having to do so. Shame.

jeanjeannie · 31/10/2008 18:37

mrsb you MAKE curry?! Wow.....it's lifting up the phone for us. I shall have a dhansak - as usual.

jw DP peeked over my sofa-ridden shoulder (along with the rest of me) and saw your post about my back possibly being put out by chandlier-swinging sexual practises....and he won't stop harping on about how much he fanices it... Men, they won't leave you alone even when you're sick - seize any opportunity - even a bed-ridden one!

No - don't feel sorry for Ross's loss of earnings. Is he really worth that much of our money??? Do think that someone lower down the food chain needed to take responsibility though....not get rid of a woman who's actually made Radio 2 very good.

Rant over Off to eat the sweets due to lack of trick or treaters!

OP posts:
johnworf · 31/10/2008 19:14

Bah@trick or treats. It's kids in bin bags doing organised begging. I've locked the porch and not answered any of the door bell ringing It's just another American import shit along with proms (wtf are they all about?)

Anyhoo, funny how men can hone in on even the word sex aint it JJ? I take he's in the shed as I type knocking together a swing - or an Iron Maiden (whichever takes your fancy)?

My DH has been very good to me today which means either he also wants sex tonight (he's not fussed about any props as beggars can't be choosers) or, he's having an affair. I'm putting my money on the former.

mrsb you're doing an awful lot of gallivanting these days aren't you? Two outings in as many weeks....pffffff I'm

Madagascar is a great film tee. By the time your LO is 4, you'll have the whole back catalogue of Disney/Pixar and know it word for word.

Just waiting for my chicken Tikka Madras to arrive with DH, feet up, and foot rub and I'm in heaven.

OOOH I did well today...sold 2 pairs of Take That tickets.

lilibet · 31/10/2008 20:52

I'm back from the big city with a very confession to make!!

this may be TMI, so if you are off a nervous disposition look away now.

On the train I went on the loo, wiped myself, checked the tissue (as you do!) and there was blood. Decided to investigate further and where better than a Virgin train toilet!!

Did a bit of a scrubbing round my "ahem" fanjo, and there was nothing there. Moved back a bit IYSWIM and there it was, lots of blood from my piles!!!

I've not had piles for ages

So, I think that we are still all systems go. I did however have a glass of wine with my meal last night (sorry!) and have walked miles adn miles lugging a suitcase behind me. We were in the third floor on the hotel and the lift was broken!

We also saw Max Clifford coming out of The Ivy.

Glad everyone seems to be ok - your little girl walking ladymac!! Bless!

We are having curry on Sunday after watching James Bond - how good can an afternoon get?

johnworf · 31/10/2008 21:20

Oh lilibet I had piles while I was bleeding postnatally and the GP asked me if I had any idea which oriface it was coming from Well it turned out to be the back and I got cream (scheriproct I think).

Glad that LO is still in there where it should be and that you're both ok

Get you loitering around The Ivy! What with you and ladymac I feel like the bit of rough round here now

jeanjeannie · 31/10/2008 22:01

lilibet I'm absolutely howling here.............piles!! Oh bless you and your naughty bum!! Well thank gawd for that eh. Now you can get some pile cream and then use it on your eyes when you feel a bit ruff

Mmmm - we test drove a new curry house - very nice. Most pleasing. Am now polishing off the sweets the kids didn't want!

JW WHY/HOW did you have 2 Take That tickets???????

OP posts:
johnworf · 31/10/2008 22:20

JJ I had 4 seated tickets I got on the website and bought them. Just call me Del Boy.

jeanjeannie · 31/10/2008 22:42

WHAH...?????? I never think to do anything like that....you are indeed a Trotter'esque' kinda gal. Perhaps you could trade in the el Doblo for a Reliant Robin...luvvly jubbly

OP posts:
mrsboogie · 31/10/2008 23:29

oh aye jw no end of gallivanting here although the LO is actually coming to the wedding with us so slight cramping of style to be expected. Its a wedding of colleagues so here's hoping that there will be lots of (germ free) people willing to entertain Darragh, who will be wearing jeans, a polo shirt and a stripy tank top fyi . Mind you, he won't even be the youngest there. The couple getting married clearly have no experience of babies or they wouldn't have invited so many...

Anyhoo I have to be in town to have hair done at 9.30am and all go from there so I will be missing in action until Sunday I expect.

have a good weekend ladies

mrsboogie · 31/10/2008 23:39

oh and jw this time next year you could be a millionaire

johnworf · 01/11/2008 07:39

mrsb you won't read this until your hangover is well and truly setting in on Sunday morning, but hope you have a good one today and that Darragh enjoys his first parday. I bet he makes all the lady guests turn to jelly with his cuteness

Yep, this time next year I could be.........probably doing exactly as I am now but with a toddler running around the place! JJ it's easy money which always comes in handy. Btw, I didn't sell them for an extortionate amount. In fact, I think I could have got a LOT more and the person who bought them all will probably do just that. Ah well, all's fair in love and money.

It's bitterly cold here today and I've left the heating on low all night so I don't wake up to a fridge. DSS is at his mums so it's just the 3 of us. K's nocturnal routine has gone to pot and she had her daddy up last night at 2am demanding milk. Who said it would't last? Well you were right!

As usual I have nothing at all planned for this weekend. I expect to hear from at least one of the older children before the day is out. They were all at Halloween parties last night and I'm sure far too much lemonade was imbided

Tee2072 · 01/11/2008 08:18

Good morning everyone!

Off to the shops to try to find one (1) new pair of boots that won't leak. Also several bras that don't hurt and perhaps a pair of trousers or two.

Who knew 6 + 1 would require bigger clothes already?!?!?!

johnworf · 01/11/2008 09:00

Enjoy your shopping tee. OOOh retail therapy

jeanjeannie · 01/11/2008 09:11

Morning all. Verity woke just once! But the blody water softner decided to make a noise like a light aircraft - had us all up - so still blinkin well up and awake at some ungodly hour jw* hope Special K isn't being led astray by Verity's naughty night-time antics....have a stern word.

Tee enjoy the shops. Ah yes, the thickening of the middle and the boobs turning into a huge shelf can happen all too quickly. After 2 LOs in 18 mths I've got a ridiculous amount of clothes that I've worn on the way up - and back down....twice over!! DOn't talk to me about boots....my feet have grown two sizes after two kids and my calves won't squeeze into much other than Uggs!

mrsB am that you've got the energy to go off and parrrrtieeee We're supposed to be in Breacon next week for my aunt's 80th (and Iris's 2nd birthday) but really can't be bothered.

On our own today. Back is much better so DP has gone off to finish the nice lady's roof. We're in all day so it's the home-made playdough, drawing and maybe a DVD. Shall also search out for a babysitter so we can go watch the new Bond movie - rather partial to Daniel Craig and I don't even like blonds much!

Ah yes, and what's the betting I can make DP a website by the time he gets home?

OP posts:
johnworf · 01/11/2008 09:12

Dunno how I forgot to mention this but The Restaurant....how dull is that man who won? I actually thought the two boys had pulled it off at the last minute and felt a little sad for them losing.

I think Blanc made a mistake choosing the dull man and medusa. God, even the dull mans voice had me nodding off.

Stand by for dull food, coming to a restaurant near you.

jeanjeannie · 01/11/2008 09:24

JW YES, YES, YES, YES!!! I didn't want to mention it....didn't want to spoil it for you as wasn't sure you'd managed to view it - in case DH had wiped it off!!!

So glad you thought he was dull....OMG, total personality bypass. And she was so smug....slapable even. I hated the way she was cooing around Mr Blanc.

Totally thought the lads pulled it off. Felt really sorry for them. They had character - even if front of house he was occasionally bumbling, he was at least nice and engaging.

Shame on you Mr Blanc...playing safe ZZzzzz

OP posts:
johnworf · 01/11/2008 10:29

The man who won is the Steve Davies of the cooking world imho. Zzzz as you so rightly put it JJ

I actually laughed out loud when his tray of biscuits fell out of the oven! Evil JW I know. And, was willing the singing duo (wtf was THAT all about?) to be still sat in Paddington wondering where everyone was....but alas no, they got on the bloody train and Mrs Smug was indeed Mrs Smug.

And the cringey bit at the end where dull man started answering back! haha!

I thought medusa was going to get on her hands and knees and start nuzzling Blanc's crotch under the desk she was so obsequious.

But yes, the poor boys. And I thought that the non-Alistair one (can't remember his name) really worked his balls off in the kitchen producing that vomit in a lobster shell. But he did put his heart and soul into it..and even Alistair got it mostly right and with a few lovely touches too. Poor lads. Back to the dole queue for them

Tee2072 · 01/11/2008 11:07

Back from shopping and ACK!!! My bra size is between two sizes, so bought some of each size. How annoying!

Also found some fab boots for only £19 at Dunnes. And some way cheap trousers at Primark.

Now all I need are some new slippers. I hate having cold feet!

lilibet · 01/11/2008 12:24

Good morning all.

Well done on the shopping!

I really don't want my boobs to grow, they're pretty impressive as it is!

JW where are you? We must be fairly near (wigan) and it's a gorgeous day here - sorry K is waking at night, at least you know that it won't last forever.

Enjoy the wedding mrsb - it's rare these days to get one that takes children, we ahve been invited to one next May that I'm in a bit of dilemma about but I shall share that with you nearer the time (We have had a 'save the a date card!!, have these people so much more money than sense?)

The Restaurant - I was soooo disappointed the poodle won. How can he even think about working with those two, they would drive me mad in a day.

It's party time chez Lili tonight. We are having a bonfire and fireworks, I know its a bit early but the boys aren't with us next weeeknd. I have some butternut squash and ginger soup in the slow cooker and am about to go shift the wood from the garage. Not sure how I am going to explain the transformation from hardeneed drinker to one small glass all night. Perhaps I 'overdid it' in London so need a few days off?

On the names front - I know that gobbledigook has done this, but would anyone else think it was starnge if i used a name that had already been used as a middle name?

Dh tells me to stop worrying about names, told him I'm thinking about names to stop me worrying about 40,000 other things

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

jeanjeannie · 01/11/2008 12:52

tee with you on the cold feet thing....LOVE my slippers....I know they're not the height of chic but who cares?! Always get the bigger bra size....them norks are just gonna get larger

jw apparently, acording to our local rag, the customers were very fond of the lads and reckon that they'd do quite well with an eaterie in the area. Mind you, with banks not lending anyone any money - even enough for a cup of tea - I feel you may be sadly right about the dole queue

OP posts:
johnworf · 01/11/2008 16:54

lilibet I'm in Bury so not that far away from you as things go. I take it you're a step family as well if your boys are off next weekend? Or are they just busy doing things?

Lovely bonfire party We're not doing anything this year but were invited out. Obviously can't go what with K and all the chest thingy. We have some fireworks and sparklers and I'll watch through the window.

So it's just me, DH and K and are all set for a night in (as always), watching tv and later, pizza. Although none for K as I can't get it in her bottle

I've just got back from running DS1 around and I must confess I'm in my pjyamas AND slippers. It's purely a comfort thing.

So JJ do the boys actually have a restaurant set up to move into? Or is it more like a butty van in the local car park?

Do people not invite children to weddings anymore and if not, why not? At our wedding (mine and current Mr Worf) we only had children oh and his mum. All 6 of us and it was tres cosy (DSS didn't attend as he said weddings weren't his bag).

Tee2072 · 01/11/2008 17:45

I don't know, JW you could wiz some pizza in a blend and put it in K's bottle. I think you're being a bit mean! Let her have a treat!

And a lot of people do have childfree weddings. I don't really get it myself, as I think weddings should include family, but some think they are a disruption.

johnworf · 01/11/2008 18:30

Tee it says it all about this country...kids aren't part of the adult world and when they are included they don't have a clue how to behave.

Take a leaf out of the people of France where kids are welcomed in restaurants etc. It's fab being on holiday over there and taking your children with you and the waiters making a fuss.....I doubt you'd get the same here. I guess it must be the same for parties now

K's had some gripe water instead of pizza. Huzzah!

jeanjeannie · 01/11/2008 19:39

Evening....kids are in bed...no pizza, just more choccies

lilibet hope this eve goes well....that soup sounds mighty fine. Don't set fire to the house now!

jw we're doing the same down here...watching the fireworks out of the window and they are a banging and a crashing. See how long it takes before they wake up one of the girls.

The Restaurant boys don't have a premise as far as I know - and Marlow would be way off the scale I'd imagine - for anyone other than from a Middle Eastern dynasty I reckon a burger van there would be good for them - those posh boys can't half drink and there's no kebab shop...could be a winner!

No idea why people don't want kids at their wedding...bloomin odd if you ask me. Not that I've ever been married...so what do I know?!

Anything on TV tonight...???
