Hi All - I think I've managed to set up a link - hurray!

If you're interested in coming along to CJ on 19th, please do bung your names down as would be lovely to meet some fellow preggies for a bite to eat / coffee and a natter.

I'm interested

penny99 · 21/10/2008 11:01

Oh, this link thing you have set up is very clever! I would love to come along.

It will be my third official day of maternity leave - its very exciting making plans for maternity leave!

Kimberly1979 · 21/10/2008 11:23

I'm interested!!

badkitty · 21/10/2008 12:28

I'm keen if can waddle out of the house at that stage (can't keep up with the December antenatal thread but am still around!)

pixsix · 21/10/2008 16:47

Me too please!

Beans33 · 22/10/2008 16:07

Hurray! Hopefully a few others will join us as well. Will see if Verso is keen as think she was an initiator as well!

Will try to make it, would be nice to have lunch! Though I will have to bring ds with me so let me know if nobody is keen on having a noisy, energetic toddler around!

PinguRocks · 22/10/2008 16:13

I will still be working then so won't be able to make it (boo!) but am due to finish 28 November so hopefully can make the next one - although I expect the babies will have started to arrive by then....

LadyThompson · 22/10/2008 16:21

I will come but as the baby is being delivered a mere week later I may be unavailable at short notice! But I expect I will be there, as fat as all hell.

JamInMyWellies · 22/10/2008 18:05

I will try to be there. But will have mad toddler with me.

rosmerta · 22/10/2008 19:25

Jam, our toddlers can wreak havoc together then

kmp1 · 23/10/2008 10:52

I'd like to waddle along! It'll be my 1st day of maternity leave (well annual leave first) so will be nice! Where exactly in CJ? or is that not decided yet?!

Olipop · 23/10/2008 11:55

I'll be there ...just let me know where! I'm not that hot on Clapham so will need very clear pregnant brain proof directions!!!

emmanbump · 23/10/2008 14:46

I'm the same as Oil

Beans33 · 23/10/2008 15:25

If we all meet actually in the station, then we can waddle on somewhere for a cuppa or a bite to eat - what does everyone reckon?

We could meet in/outside Costa Coffee....

LadyThompson · 23/10/2008 17:34

Ok, though we'll look like the members of some strange cult

Very tempting to pretend to a restaurant that one man is the father to all.

pixsix · 23/10/2008 18:42

LadyT!

emmanbump · 24/10/2008 12:01

Great idea Beans. Pmsl at Lady T and the one man . . . .

rosmerta · 24/10/2008 13:43

Good idea Beans, I don't know CJ either!

Pmsl at LadyT & one man

penny99 · 24/10/2008 14:41

I know the area very well. There are lots of kid/bump friendly places a short walk from the station. I've listed some below in case we want to pick somewhere (then people won't have to worry about being a little late) but equally happy to meet at costa in the station. Thoughts?

Crumpet (Northcote Rd) - baby/toddler friendly cafe, best for light snacks, coffee and cake

Strada (Battersea rise) - better if we want a proper meal

Giraffe (Battersea rise) - another kid friendly chain. Range of meals from soup to burgers to stir fry vag/chicken.

Banana Leaf (Battersea rise, near cnr of Northcote rd) - cheap and cheerful asian. Noodle soups, curry, rice dishes.

Buona Sera (Northcote road) - nice italian which is often noisy so our chats/children noise will go unnoticed

There is also a Starbucks on Northcote rd with plenty of space for bumps/pushchairs

There are many more places along Northcote rd and Battersea rise but I think the ones I've listed are probably best for groups and are also not too far from the station.

Northcote rd is about a ten minute waddle from the front of clapham junction station and Battersea rise is about the same. There are also buses (319 along Northcote rd) and 35 or 37 up to Battersea rise for those for who waddling has become annoying.

JamInMyWellies · 26/10/2008 21:25

Penny the Giraffe sells stir fry Vag

rosmerta · 27/10/2008 09:11

stir fry vag

Beans33 · 27/10/2008 09:32

Hee hee! I'm easy with any of them - great food at Buona Sera - mmmm!

chutneymary · 27/10/2008 20:30

Buona Sera is LOVELY and very lively. Just the thing for a gang of pregnant ladies on a final fling.

REally looking forward to lunch with you all in a couple of weeks.

Have posted this on the main thread as well but just had a thought - I'm not bringing mine as it's a nursery day for the girls, but it's just occurred to me that some of the ladies are coming across london with small children in tow. Public transport with buggies etc isn't fun and there are a lot of stairs at Clap Junction. Would it be easier to meet at Waterloo? There is also a kids' playground near there for them to burn off a bit of steam. Nearest place with a few swings to Clap J is the commmon which is a real waddle for a pregnant lady. Sorry, I don't want to ambush the meeting but as we are coming from all over london and some people will have kids with us it might be easier.

Verso · 03/11/2008 09:36

Ooh just been pointed towards this thread - please count me in! Anywhere on Northcote Road would suit me fine (love Crumpet but it's a bit pricey)... haven't been to Banana Leaf but sounds good...
