All the books say around 18 weeks for a first baby, do you think that's about right?

I was about 21 weeks with my first to be honest, I think it was a few days after my 20 weeks scan.

With my second, was 17-18 weeks.

crokky · 18/09/2008 10:32

can vary - if your placenta is on the front, you feel movements later and not as strongly.

Felt my DS (1st baby with back placenta) early at about 15 wks

Felt my DD (2nd baby with front placenta) about 18/19 weeks

eilidhfi · 18/09/2008 10:32

I was 16 weeks with DD. Depends on the mummy, depends on the baby.

mamaspanx · 18/09/2008 11:06

about 22wks with no.1 about 17wks with no.2 and i'm about 14wks now with no.3 and convinced i can feel something...or is that my churning tummy?

Tinkerisdead · 18/09/2008 11:08

My placenta is on the front so didnt feel full movements until 22 weeks. i felt fluttering very low at 16 weeks but that first definate movement was at 22 weeks.

ChocOrange05 · 18/09/2008 11:18

21 weeks for me - DC1.

DrsWife where have you been - we miss you in Nov!

tinkhasanactivebean · 18/09/2008 11:45

i felt dd move @ 17 weeks
this one @ 15 weeks

CaptainKarvol · 18/09/2008 11:49

I felt DS (1st pg) at 13 weeks - like tiny goldfish bubbles very low down, and quite unlike any feeling I'd ever had before.

This pg I started feeling 'something' at about 11 weeks, am now 13 weeks and occasionally get a sensation which I believe is the baby shifting around.

Real kicking was going on by about 18 weeks first time.

I must have tummy muscles of purest rice-paper...

ShowOfHands · 18/09/2008 11:52

Felt dd at 17 weeks but it wasn't like movement, just little popping, bubbly sensations. It took about 5 weeks for the popping to get stronger and turn into wriggles.

nooname · 18/09/2008 11:54

With first it was after 20 wk scan but I had anterior placenta.

This time with second I'm pretty sure I felt it from around 12/13 wks and now by 19 wks can feel it very strongly so don't think I have an anterior placenta this time!

mummy2000 · 18/09/2008 12:33

Approx 17 weeks with my first one too.

Northumberlandlass · 18/09/2008 12:41

Around 20 weeks for me too. But, at first it was like having butterflies... iykwim.

xx

Claire236 · 18/09/2008 12:50

About 15 weeks

Millie26 · 18/09/2008 12:51

I woke up the other morning feeling that bubble feeling low down - was 13 wks and a few days.

Might well have been curry though!!

17 weeks both times

peppermintpig · 18/09/2008 20:19

20 weeks for number 1 and 19 weeks for number 2.

jenniferturkington · 18/09/2008 20:26

Definate movements at 15 weeks with DS and 18 weeks with current bean. Odd 'possible' flutterings since about 13 weeks this time though.

malloo · 18/09/2008 22:49

18 weeks with first one, 12 weeks with this one.

electra · 30/09/2008 01:50

I'm 12 weeks now and I'm sure I can feel it wriggling - is that possible?? (3rd pregnancy)

nappyaddict · 30/09/2008 01:51

12 weeks for first baby but then i hardly felt him again until 24 weeks cos he was back to back.

broodymom · 30/09/2008 10:43

I remember with dd1 it was about 18 weeks i was lying on the bed watching tv and i could feel a little sort of bump bump, said to dp so we sat looking at my tummy and you could see tiny little prods on my skin it was such a sureal and amazing experience that we filmed it !

Hi there,

I am 20 weeks pregnant with my first baby and I felt movements around 17 weeks, it was only a bubble feeling ( and I thought it was trapped wind ;-) but my midwife confimed she could see my tummy moving and so that was my little one moving.

WorzselMummage · 06/10/2008 18:35

I felt my first at about 18 weeks and this one over the last week ( i'm 15+4 ) It doesnt feel like the bubbles i remember from last time though it feels like someone roling marbles around on the inside.
