Just curious... wondering what's most "common"... I'm 36 weeks now and really need the full 40 weeks!! Wondering how common that is....
Thanks!!!

41 + 6 - stubborn baby! Tried everything to make the baby come - nothing worked. no surprise he was a boy. had to be induced. hoping baby will be on time next time.

funnypeculiar · 14/09/2008 19:37

36 weeks exactly (sorry )

star6 · 14/09/2008 19:44

funnypeculiar - was this considered "early"?

41+5 (allegedly, I still maintain the medical dates were wrong)

orangehead · 14/09/2008 19:55

Yes apparently it quite rare. It was obviously his personality, six years on and he is very precise and a bit of a perfectionist

frazzledoldbag34 · 14/09/2008 19:59

40+2 for 1st baby.
40 exactly for 2nd baby. Apparently only about 5% of babies (or is it 15%????) actually come on their due dates.
Lots of shagging is my top tip!

Although, labour started on 39+5...

My tip would be to keep moving - I was still doing pretty long walks (1hr - 2hrs) daily up until I went into labour). Partly because I hadn't got anything ready for baby and had to keep walking into town to go to the shops for stuff. Anyway, I'm convinced that my exertions helped move things along.

37+2 weeks for dd (our first)
27 weeks for ds (our second)

star6 - he was a bit in-between - didn't need any special care, but they kept us in for 4 days as a precaution to make sure his weightgain was ok (he was just on the cut off for them to worry apparently. i never did quite get told what they'd do if he dropped below it!)
He was still quite furry (babies loose lugano -sp?- in last 4 weeks) & rather sleepy, but otherwise quite perfect.

cece · 14/09/2008 21:11
