I didn't even know you were pregnant Aitch, sorry to read this. Sincerely hoping things are better than they appear.

berolina · 26/08/2008 20:30

Lots of love and thoughts to you Aitch, and to LittleAitch. xxx

IAteDavinaForDinner · 26/08/2008 20:32

Oh no Aitch, I hadn't even realised you were pregnant!

No experience to offer but just want you to know someone else is rooting for you and the wean. Wishing you all the best

Bewilderbeast · 26/08/2008 20:33

Aitch - sending normal blood pressure and rapidly growing baby thoughts your way. For what its worth DS was an emergency section at 34 weeks because he was very ill, I won't lie it was a rough ride but he is 22 months of perfectly normal healthy mischevious toddler now. If your baby does have to be born early the SCBU care available for the baby is fab.

MrsSprat · 26/08/2008 20:35

Best of luck Aitch. A colleague's wife had her baby at 33/34 ish weeks last summer owing to PE. Tiny but fine and only in hosp for x2weeks and thereafter a normal newborn experience. Relax all you can and make most of time away from construction-itis back home.

nooonit · 26/08/2008 20:45

Aitch - I'm a bit of a lurker really, but your kind sensible words of advice to me on a breastfeeding thread in the past and the difference your blw site has made to the way I feed my baby meant I couldn't let your post pass without adding to it.

Stay calm and positive - there's lots of us out here in Mumsnet-world who are sending an enormous amount of TLC vibes to you and baby Aitch.

Tnoog · 26/08/2008 20:47

Sending lots of positive thoughts to you Aitch

CountTo10 · 26/08/2008 20:57

Thoughts are with you.

I have a friend about to celebrate her 30th birthday who was born at 26 wks so I have every faith in premies. I also know someone who due to an abruption had the baby at 32 wks weighing just over 3lb and not only is she fantastic now at the age of 5 she was bf up till 18mths. Lots of expressing etc whilst in hospital and perseverance I think.

Big hugs to you all.

scottishmummy · 26/08/2008 21:00

i had pre-eclampsia resulting in emergency CS and

rascal1979 · 26/08/2008 21:01

Aitch - my DD was born by emergency C section under GA at 30+6 in December due to Pre-Eclampsia and HELLP syndrome. She was also IUGR and weighed a tiny 2lb 1oz.

Eight and a half months on and she is still breastfed (exclusively til 7mths when I started BLW) As Lulumama has said plenty of skin to skin, double pumping every 2-3hrs day AND NIGHT - exhausting but the best way to keep your supply up.

She's still tiny at 11lb 9oz but perfect in everyway and developmentally doing well. She can sit up etc - reaching milestones quicker than some of her term peers!

Keeping my fingers crossed for you xx

morningpaper · 26/08/2008 21:05

all the best Aitch and baby-aitch

we are all rooting for you both XXXXX

TigerFeet · 26/08/2008 21:06

melsy · 26/08/2008 21:07

Hope all is going well in Hos, hope you have lots of books, magazines, nosh & ipod et al! Oh and lots of others you can talk too there to wile (sp?) away the hours.

Hope little Aitch is doing ok in there and cooks nicely this week.

Thinking of you both x

HeinzSight · 26/08/2008 21:10

Thinking of you and baby Aitch, hope everything goes well for you. x x x

welliemum · 26/08/2008 21:12

Aitch, just seen this, will write more later, but am thinking of you.

You don't have to dig deep to find good stories about 33 weekers, they're tough little things.

Take a fascinating book - in reality you're more likely to be bored rigid by the hospital stay than anything else.

gigglewitch · 26/08/2008 21:15

everything crossed for you Aitch.
and Mini-aitch.

also had pre-eclampsia with DD but a bit later than you. Better out than in from her pov, if you can possibly get yourself to believe it.

Another positive tale for you, I met next-door baby twins today, born 3mo ago at just 26 wks, both are lovely fit and healthy little gorgeous bundles - and each fitted into their daddy's hand when they were born.

Wishing lots of luck (and patience)to you.

morocco · 26/08/2008 21:19

thinking of you and your little one
gosh, I didn't even know you were pregnant. I had p/e with ds1, he was better off on the outside and thrived once born

kitkat9 · 26/08/2008 21:19

dig deep Aitch, you can do this. Thinking of you and your wee one...x

JRocks · 26/08/2008 21:22

Thinking of you - I know plenty of people who have had pre-eclampsia (myself included), and I'm sure you'll be okay. Also know of tinies that were born around 30 weeks that are totally unaffected. Sending good wishes from Cornwall x

hellymelly · 26/08/2008 21:24

I was born at 34 weeks,3lb something,in 1963,mum had pre-eclampsia,and I was/am healthy and fine-your baby will be fine, you will be fine, lots of love to you and the tiny one.

Bramshott · 26/08/2008 21:27

Aw Aitch - I hope this isn't anything to do with the stress of your neighbours building works!

Like others, my DD was a 33 weeker and was fine (and she was quick, so no time for the lung-maturing drugs to work). Only in SCBU for 2 weeks, and quite big by the standards of other babies in there. Just don't go anywhere near those big, term babies while you're in - they'll look like giant babies!

Good luck!
