Do any of you have nicknames for your Bumps? (s/b mentioned briefly)

Hi, having just found out i am 5+3 pg again after losing my daughter at full term in March, I am kind of excited but really nervous too. My dd was nicknamed Baby Bump (original ).

I feel i want to bond with this one as much as possible (maybe just in case this is the only time i get) so we have nicknamed the bump already although there is obviously not a bump there yet, we have decided on "Cookie" as all I want to eat is Maryland Cookies and we are hoping for a sunshine princess or prince (Cookie Monster - Sugar Puff advert) so it all ties in.

Do any of you have nicknames for your bumps and how did you get them?

Ours gets called "Frank" as our surname is Spencer. it wont be the final name though

Everyone has named ours, and they're all different.

OH is calling it Brutus Maximus (he's reading a book about the romans, but I'm a bit worried he'd prefer a gladiator to a child )

My sis is calling it Alfred Bean, as that is the name of the hospital I had the scan and it says it on the scan picture

My friend is calling it Billy Bob, just because she wants to give it a name and doesn't like using 'it'

It's bound to be a girl, now it's got such an array of male names already!

sounds mad, but my daughter called it 'Flubba' after seeing my early scan pic at 8wks, (don't ask me why), anyway it stuck and our little flubz is due any time soon, Good luck with Cookie,

DS1 was Peanut (and still known as this by lots of friends) who'll be one next week.

This pregnancy is known as Jellybean.

At home baby is referred to as Gertrude...even though I think its a boy!! At work it is referred to as Micro-Chips! This has an explanation-my surname contains the word "Oven" from that came "oven Chips" which got shortened and I get called "chips" at work! Scarily though, I quite like it, Chips and Micro-chips!!

My first was Little Bean but ended in m/c. Current one at 8wks 4 days is Littel Swede as he/she was conceived in Sweden

We didnt really have a specific nickname for DS so he had various unimaginative names right up to the end when to me DH and SIL he became sploosh as DH said that was what my waters would do when they went and sploosh watch kinda stuck as I kept getting texts from SIL asking if there was any sign of Sploosh. Am now approx 5 wks pregnant with DC2 and I have already started calling the baby Sploosh although DH says it has to be Sploosh 2 but either way I kinda like it its different.

My bump is called 'dooley'- saw the name in baby name book and thought it was great though I'd never be brave enough to call baby dooley if it is a boy!!
bump also gets called pomme frit at work!!! as my nick name is chips too ( maiden name is egan - eg-and-chips sad i know but someone thought it was hilarious in the office!! )
DH wants to call baby Joe Dooley Naughton if it is a boy and i love iot but dont know if it sounds a bit daft?? My sis and mum have both said if it is a boy they will struggle not to call him dooley!!! Oh no, what have i done???
DH convinced its a girl anyway and so calls bump Dooliette ( sounds like a make of sanitry towel, poor bump! )WONT BE USING DOOLIETTE AS A MIDDLE NAME THOUGH!!! What do you think to Joeseph Dooley??? Be kind

Mine has 2 names. My husband calls it The Ednut (because his name is Ed, and it's the size of a nut). And always with "The" in front.

My best fried calls it Bag. As soon as I found out I was pregnant and told her, she bought one of those 40,000 name books and we started sifting through potential names. This led to a spate of Arthurian Legend names, one of which is Badgemagus. I suggested it to her and she though it was cool, because you could call it Bag for short.

And it stuck.

I like it actually. It reminds me of Tooley, which is a character from Graham Greene's Travel's with my Aunt. She was a woman, and the name begins with T, but it's similar enough to work in my head, as a proper name.

And it will always be special to you and your husband, so go for it.

i am 6+3 and as with my past pregnancies it is named after something edible of the same size so at the moment it is a lentil, soon to become a raisin!

When I was growing up (until the age of 7) I was known as Bean or Beanie by all my mum and dad's friends and family, I even insisted on being called it in school and was on the school register as Beanie.

i had a sudden urge for all things lemon and lime last weekend. Came back from supermarket with cloudy lemonade, onken lemon mousse, lemon sherbets and whole lemons!!!
crackers, never been a citrus fan before! think it was my source lime shower gel that started it off. dooley very quiet last night and today, hopefully just getting short of room but i'm such a worry wort!!!

Going swimming this afternoon and to the Gym tomorrow, trying to keep fit and think i will take up Pilates as had awful SPD with dd and heard as long as i carry on exercising but gently it should reduce the pain? Chilling out on Sunday. I hate Sundays. You up to anything nice? x

AHB, they thought I had SPD at 12 weeks. Couldnt go upstairs without being in pain, getting in and out of car was a nightmare. Had a week off work and rested and since then, ( touch wood ) nothing, very strange!!
Tried to keep active, taking dog for long walks ( who am i kidding, once round the field!!! ) wanted to go swimminmg but i've never got round to it. Suppose there is still time ( 8 weeks??? )
Family do at the brother-in-laws at the weekend, i am of course the designated driver. Will have to sit there whilst they get sloshed on pear cider and guiness ( irish family ) whats your due date AHB?
going to pack my hospital bag too and have a big house clean on sunday.

Dooleymum - from my dates due date is 13th April 2009. But they won't let me go over 37/38 weeks this time, so it will be start of April end of March. I had to see a chiropractor for my spd and she also gave me acupuncture (eased it for a while but was like a cripple towards the end. DP had to help me in and out of bed and off the sofa, really don't want that this time!)
