Still no movements, my bump has stopped growing, I don't even know what anyone could do to make me relax about it all...

I phoned the MW this morning (a big step for me), explained that I was worried about not feeling any movements, said how I haven't grown for the last 4/5 weeks, and told her how it is all so so so different from my other pregnancies, and she said "we don't really monitor baby movements or growth until around 26 weeks, because, well there is nothing we can do before then, except deliver the baby if there was something wrong"

But, I can go for a AN appointment next week to listen to the HB. I have a doppler (for all my sins....) I know the HB is OK (though has been faster than usual the last few times I've done it) I also know that whilst hearing the HB is a good sign, it doesn't mean all is well.

I am just going round in circles, I go for a few days where I think everything is fine, and try not to even think about it all, and then I have a day like today where it is just staring me in the face all the time. And like I said, I don't even know what anyone could do to make it better, just need to rant I suppose!

NJ, GET TO THE HOSPITAL!!!! WHO CARES WHAT THE STUPID MIDWIFE THINKS??

As long as the baby is OK.

I don't want to scare you, but this thread has made me a wee bit angry.

I had my AN appointment on Thursday 28th Feb, told midwife that i had not felt movement that day and that the last real lot of movement was on the tuesday. She fobbed me off, told me to go home, drink cold water and put my feet up. I was 38 weeks and 3 days at the time. There was a heartbeat at the AN appointment. She said if i was still worried in 24 hours then to ring the hospital. I did and went to be monitored, my baby girls heartbeat had gone. If that stupid midwife had sent me to the hospital the day before my baby girl would be here with me now. I wish i had not listened to her, i wish i had not worried that she thought i was a neurotic first time mother. I put my babies life in her hands, i trusted her. My baby girl was born sleeping on Mothers day.

Please just take yourself to the hospital. It is better to be safe than sorry. Sod the midwife. Take your other l/c with you if you have to.

I don't want to scare you hun, but I wouldn't wish what I am going through on anybody. My baby girl should be here rolling over, giggling, smiling. I should not have had to have a funeral for her, we should have been having a christening. All because that stupid woman sent me home.

I have just found out that I am pg again (5 weeks and 3 days), i have felt fluttering already and believe me any small issues i will be up that hospital ASAP, they get paid to sort us out! That is their job.Just go. PLEASE!!!!

Rant over! Hope everything is ok. x x

AHB238 · 14/08/2008 10:46

Sorry just seen end of this thread!!!! SO HAPPY for you that baby has moved, but any lack of movement in the future, take my advice and get to hospital.

Take care. x x

AHB - how heartbreaking for you. So sorry for your loss. Have you seen the sunflower thread over in the bereavement section? They are a great lot of ladies and the thread grew out of support given to feedmenow whose daughter was stillborn at term. She is expecting again as well. Wishing you very much happiness and good luck with the pregnancy.
