Found out recently I’m pregnant with baby number 3 😍. I’ve worked out my due date as early May 2027. Anyone else? It would be nice to have a support thread going. They’ll be quite a big gap between my two kids and baby, I feel like I’ve forgotten everything 🤦🏼‍♀️

@MumDaisy1980 that's fantastic to hear 😊

MixedBananas · 28/09/2026 16:10

Just called Maternity unit and now everything is online. Refferal.online and Badger notes. So sad as I loved the physical notes. Carrying them with me!
Hopefully my last Midwife will be asigned to me again. She was lovely and is mature mother too.
I am 5w 2Ds according to Ovulation but LMP it is 5W 6Ds.

Not sure if I will do an early scan at 8weeks.
Such a variety of stages we are all at in this group.

Done my 8 week scan today and saw my baby with all the good signs! Massively relieved!

Hope all is well!!!

Congratulations! Can’t wait to book our early scan!

Moominmamato3 · 28/09/2026 17:45

@MixedBananas ~ I miss having the physical notes too!

I had some brownish discharge for the first time today at 6+3

a bit worried, what about you? X

How are you? How are you feeling?? Hope your next scan goes smoothly.

I went to early preg scan today and the sonography said mild spotting bleeding is normal. But If there is pain then contact EPU. No pain generally mean OK!

MumDaisy1980 · 28/09/2026 19:37

Hello all, this will be my second baby. First one being a toddler 2.5yo. When I had my first one I read plenty of parenting and maternity book. I wonder any book recommend, especially for parents with two little ones to handle at once. 😲 At the moment I had no clue how to even handle when I go in labour who taking care the baby etc. I would really want my husband to be with me ij the labour room. if anyone happy to share multiples parenting the dos and dons will also be very helpful! Thanks!! Happy to open a separate thread if there is enough interest haaa

WildFinch · 28/09/2026 21:35

@MixedBananas snap! 5w+6 here too. I've self-refered to EPU and also called them today. Early scan booked for Wednesday so hopefully they can prescribe me progesterone again.

@MumDaisy1980 my first is only 7 months and same as you I'm already thinking about the logistics. We don't have easily available child care. Any tips welcome!

MixedBananas · 29/09/2026 07:11

Hey @WildFinch i wish they would take my ovulation day qs it takes the pressure off EDD.
I have two boys 4 and 2. But sadly had 4 miscarriages since last July. 3 were very early chemical and the kast was 6ws it started with spotting brown and then after 5 days red and I had 0 cramps the entire time. It was bizzare I assumed miscarriage at 6weeks I would be cramping.

@MumDaisy1980 include the eldest in the process. Answer their questions. Reassure them. Don't make any big changes are due date and few months P/P. I had my parents come to stay with my toddler while I went into labour. They stayed for 5 days and left. And we coslept with both. Luckily at 3 mo ths my eldest got wick of baby waking home at night so he evicted himself to his own room. My 2nd was super chill so while I played with my eldest baby just chilled on his tummy or back or in the bouncer. They bith had afternoon nap together. And while nursing I would read books eith my eldest. Just made it work.
Oh yes the day we bought baby home we gave ny eldeat a present from baby. And that really helped him bond he really treasured that gift.

@MumDaisy1980 ~ I had a book Coping with Two which I found helpful if you wanted a book.

Soph1954 · 29/09/2026 09:49

Hello!
This is my first pregnancy after 9 years TTC never been pregnant before.
I’m full of anxiety and worry especially as I have next to no symptoms.
I have a private scan booked for next weekend when I will be 8 weeks 🤞

StillNotFoundThePlot · 29/09/2026 18:02

Heyyy I had my booking appointment today and I’m kind of annoyed at my midwife she seemed really nice to begin with… until I told her I was planning to have a home birth then she changed and seemed ‘off/annoyed’ at me then said well your going to be consultant care so you’ll have to see if you can do that at 38 weeks, I asked her what her reasoning was for putting me under the consultant she said well I want to wrap you in cotton wool and make sure you do what’s best for the baby’s health!! I don’t know, unless I’m missing something I have no idea why I need to be consultant lead I wasn’t with my others and have no reason to be with this one, I had losses before my first child and before my second and wasn’t consultant lead then also at the same hospital!
No real reason for this post other than a rant!

PhoenixSTL · 29/09/2026 18:38

Oh gosh, that doesn't sound a great experience! There must be a reason for consultant care...I was placed under it on my last pregnancy due to having an emergency c-section with my son.

See that’s the thing I had very normal very straightforward births, gas and air only from about 8 cm with both, no tears and no excessive bleeding. I was induced with both but one was reduced movements, she was perfectly healthy and home the next morning, but only because I had her at 11pm, second birth I was induced because they said she was estimated to be well over 10lbs and wanted to do a c section I refused so had to be induced, she was 7lbs, perfectly healthy and home very quickly was only on the ward for about 4 hours, literally makes no sense at all.

Moominmamato3 · 29/09/2026 19:11

Will she be your midwife for the whole process? Maybe you could speak to someone else if she is not giving a reason. It does seem odd if she only mentioned it after you asked about home birth

I bloody hope not, I have my appointment for my 12week scan and consultant so I’ll speak with the consultant then and see what he says maybe he’ll discharge me from his care and maybe he’s just as confused as I am, she said something like maybe I’ll need stitches in my cervix this time and I was thinking to myself what are you on about why would I need stitches honestly so confused but we will see I guess 🫣

Had my scan yesterday, I was 6+3 by LMP but measuring 6+0 more or less as expected as I know I ovulated a bit later than day 14.

Everything looked fine although the embryo position made it tricky to get a super clear picture.

Heartbeat was strong and high, I was told this was good but now I’m worrying as it’s SO much higher than my son’s was at that point!

The report says the gestational sack average measurement is smaller at 5+0 weeks :( but I’m trying to ignore that as she didn’t even mention it, and the average is based on two wildly different measurements she took so probably not accurate.

Trying to focus on the positives ( of which there are plenty!!) but it’s hard not to worry as for the past three years I was convinced we’d never conceive naturally.

Symptoms… I’m SO gassy, anyone else??

Me!! It's a nightmare especially at bed time! My poor fella🤣

@MixedBananas ~ I miss having the physical notes too!

I am averse to apps etc having worked in IT and IG.
Also love the name. Massive moomin fan here!

Got a call from midwife a little concerned. My midwife is not around - maybe health related...She may come back! And the midwife I spoke to I am not a fan of she was not nice last time I saw her, as a one off, she is my assigned Midwife as she said, her words "no one left here". A little worried they may close services here. Small community team in the mountains of Wales. So yeah.... She didn't ask anything No questions. Didn't ask if I wanted early scan due to previous miscarriages etc etc.

Not looking forward to this apt.

It is called consent. You refuse and ask for another Midwife.
Call her team leader / Manager and ask for another Midwife. And state you right to refuse "advice" Especially not medically warrented.
I uses to work in the NHS as a HCP.

Consent, consent and consent.

MixedBananas · 30/09/2026 07:42

@Plumchumm what a relief are they scanning again to check the growth?

AFlashOfLight · 30/09/2026 08:04

I had such a weird dream the other night, that I had had a baby girl but we had decided to call her a very unusual name ('Sansarrah'?!?), which no-one could pronounce or spell properly and even my husband and I kept forgetting it. I woke up full of name regret and very anxious, and then realised I was getting a bit ahead of myself!
Yesterday had an 8 week scan and all seemed OK 💖. I had a miscarriage at 11 weeks last time though so not feeling out of the woods yet. Also the doctor had a chat about prenatal testing because of my advanced maternal age (39) which didn't fill me with confidence!
Good luck to everyone with scans coming up 💪🍀💗
