Constant Anxiety About a Miscarriage

Hi guys!

So I previously had a miscarriage (is what drs think) whereby the pain was immense as was the bleed 11 days after a positive test roughly.

This time round I am at 6 weeks 1 day and recently had a scan by the EPAU as I was in Extreme pain at 5weeks and 4 days and it showed stretching pains and a gestational sac and yolk.

Now the thing is my symptoms are beginning to fade. My clearblue flashed 2-3 from 3+ then when I took it again later it flashed 3+ again.

I am so worried because the midwives have scared me of all the possibilities of what could go wrong and I only recently realised a silent miscarriage is possible too.

I really don't know how to combat my anxiety and I can't seem to be really happy because I'm scared. I'm also scared as I feel hugely responsible for looking after the lil bean!

Is it crazy to keep getting scans and blood tests?

How does everyone trudge through it?

Any advice would be amazing as it's my first time and I have no clue what to do.

Hey, I don't really have any advice but can offer sympathy and solidarity. I'm 18 weeks after a miscarriage at around 7 weeks. I'm only just starting to feel cautiously excited.

There are a few threads on here, I started this one which is lovely: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/5531298-pregnancy-after-loss?utmcampaign=thread&utmmedium=share

But this one is closer to where you'll be: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/5564675-pregnancy-after-loss-due-march-2027?utmcampaign=thread&utmmedium=share

It's given me comfort and hope to speak to others going through similar xx

Edit to add my one piece of advice is don't use those ClearBlue tests, they brought me so much anxiety.

Hi 🤍

I am currently 3 weeks away from my due date following a silent miscarriage found at 12 weeks. I only really started to feel better after my 20 week scan and feeling movements helps too, but I know I wont fully relax until they are hopefully here safely.

I had two private scans before my 12 week scan and another at around 16 weeks. I know this can be expensive and not an option for some but they did provide me with some reassurance between the long wait for NHS scans.

Mainly what I’ve come to realise is pretty much everyone worries whether theyve been through a loss or not - we all just want our babies here safely. Don’t be too hard on yourself for having worrying thoughts but also don’t let them cloud your experience either - you don’t want to get to the end of your pregnancy thinking you've spent the whole time worrying and not letting yourself get excited.

Best of luck 🤍🤍🤍

@ChasingRainbow5and @UtardelisI am so sorry to hear that and you're both such soliders. Thank you for making me feel less guilty.

I feel as though the appointments are so far apart, which doesn't help and the EPAU always goes to voicemail and it's so hard to be seen.

Everyone makes it seem easy and such topics seem taboo. No one tells you how exciting and nerve-wracking it is at the same time and you have to sit it through.

I really appreciate the guidance 🥹
