I'm 5 weeks 6 days it it's such a strange time because other than savage breast pain and bloating I feel normal. It's surreal. Nothing to do but take folic acid and vitamin D, eat healthily and wait to see what happens next... Anyone feel the same?? Am going to try wait until 7 weeks to get a viability scan, but until then... ⌛⏰

Im potentially coming up to 4 weeks. Been getting faint positives so just waiting on the to get darker before contacting my doctor. Been getting nauseous and so so tired all the time.

Awh that's exciting! Waiting for progression is so hard though, isn't it?

It really is, i keep worrying the lines dont look darker but then I'm not given it enough days in-between each test

Emilychen · 14/07/2026 14:31

Ugh the feeling-normal part threw me too, I kept waiting to feel properly pregnant and just didn't, other than sore boobs and being weirdly bloated. The waiting really is the hardest bit. Keeping busy with little things helped me not clock-watch every day. Hang in there til your scan, those weeks drag but they do pass 🤍

You're totally right... Otherwise it's on our minds 24/7! Thank you 🙏🏼 Are you have any sleep issues?

OP posts:
Emilychen · 15/07/2026 23:38

Honestly yeah, my sleep has been all over the place, wiped out by 9pm and then wide awake at 3am for zero reason lol. The vivid dreams are not helping either. I am just trying to nap when I can and not stress the nights I cannot. How is yours holding up while you wait on the scan?

Me too!! Waking up most hours in the night and always have to read for an hour about 4am 🙈 The dreams are so vivid that I can't forget them the next day, even if they're unpleasant! I've decided to have my scan on Monday which will be 7 weeks. How far along are you?

OP posts:
Emilychen · 16/07/2026 08:50

Ha the 4am reading club is so real, i'm wide awake staring at the ceiling most nights too and the dreams do not help. I'm about 8 weeks so just a little behind you, no scan booked yet, but yours on Monday is so close. Fingers crossed you get a lovely clear look at your little one, i'll be thinking of you.

Orchid887 · 16/07/2026 19:38

Hey everyone, can I join along here? I'm 3 weeks and 4 days pregnant with an IVF baby. I've a daughter who's 4 and I've had two previous transfers, one that failed and one that was sadly a missed miscarriage.

The waiting is torture at this point. I've tested before my clinics "official test day" which means I can't even tell them it's positive yet! Agonising over lines and whether they're adequate for what is, essentially, 12DPO. But the prep for the treatment also involves so much waiting that I'm all out of patience. 😂

I'll have a scan at the clinic booked in on Monday, for around 7-8 weeks. Which is essentially a lifetime away. Would be nice to have some virtual company!

OneSereneShark · 16/07/2026 21:03

Well done for waiting for a scan @Emilychen ! I was tempted to book even earlier than 7 but I figured the wait will be agonising if it doesn't show a heartbeat yet...

@Orchid887 Awhh congratulations on your positive! IVF takes a big toll, I don't blame you for running out of patience! My scan is also on Monday. We should check in after 🙏🏼

I'm getting a strange symptom... I think it's the extra blood in my body but my legs are uncomfortable/mildly sore. I can't cross them like I usually do. Have either of you guys had this?

OP posts:
Orchid887 · 16/07/2026 21:33

Thank you @OneSereneShark, it's been a ride for sure! Unfortunately my test will only get booked on Monday but won't be for another 4 weeks ish. Please do check in after!

I've definitely had similar in my first pregnancy! The weirdest sensation!

Symptom wise, it's hard to know what's the medications and what's pregnancy but I'm exhausted yet having a tough time sleeping well. The dreams too! Crazily vivid!

Also, my unfortunate one.. I don't have increased sense of smell (which I did during my last pregnancy) but I do have altered sense of smell. In that all my bread smells mouldy! I went out and bought fresh bread, got it home and nope.. still smells mouldy. Devastated, especially as I've had hyperemesis twice and bread is normally a safe bet!

Emilychen · 17/07/2026 18:21

That not knowing what's the meds and what's the pregnancy would do my head in, especially when it doesn't match last time like the smell thing. And ugh, exhausted but wide awake is the cruelest combo, the wild dreams are not helping either of us sleep. Only a few more days till Monday now, I'll be thinking of you.

Ahh I get you! I wouldn't be able to handle waiting 4 weeks, even though it's the sensible thing to do 😬

The dreams so wild and I wake up remembering every detail (much to my dismay). Fresh bread smells mouldy?! Fresh bread usually has the best smell! Wow our bodies are amazing.

Hyperemesis sounds unbelievably tough. How did you manage it? I had to take yesterday off work because I felt nauseous and migrainous all day. Feel a bit lame for having a day off so soon into the pregnancy 🙈

OP posts:
Orchid887 · 17/07/2026 22:37

@Emilychen- Yes, it drives me mad! One thing that is definitely down to the meds is the fact I'm so bloated. I looked more pregnant at 10 weeks on meds with my first, than I did at 20 weeks once I'd stopped them.

Thank you, I'll be thinking of you too. At least I'll get a scan date to count down to. I'm fortunate to get an early scan with the clinic, but it's also a terrifying time.

@OneSereneShark- Honestly I do not know what is going on with me.. can I blame pregnancy brain yet?! My test has been done, I'm definitely pregnant. My scan won't be booked until 4 weeks time ish!

The dreams really are wild aren't they?! I always thought my sleep difficulties were because I was thinking about being pregnant but no, turns out it's a whole thing! The bread thing is VERY sad and I can only hope that buggers off. I googled and it's something about smelling the yeast? Who knows. But it's awful!

Yes, the HG has been fairly awful in the past. Though hopefully made worse by the fact I waited so long to seek help and therefore was absolutely not on top of it. This time I spoke to my GP during my embryo transfer cycle and asked for meds to be prescribed ready. He did and said to take them regularly before major symptoms and that if I'm sick to call immediately to add others in. So feeling hopeful this time!

Don't feel lame at all! You do exactly as you need right now! It's a horrible way to feel, regardless of what's causing it.

I'm having a big wobble this evening ladies. Worried that my test isn't dark enough, that my symptoms aren't strong enough, that the very slight cramping is a terrible sign. Just all up in the wrong headspace for this wonderful, and hopefully healthy, pregnancy. Despite the fact I'm only the equivalent of 13dpo!

Emilychen · 18/07/2026 04:26

the not knowing what's the meds and what's the pregnancy would mess with my head too, especially when the bloating doesn't match how it went last time. an early scan is such a gift and so nerve-wracking all at once, i totally get the terrified part. thinking of you as your date gets closer, hoping it gives you a lovely little thing to count down to x

Orchid887 · 20/07/2026 12:58

@OneSereneShark- I've been thinking of you today!

My scan is officially booked for first thing on Wednesday 12th August. So the countdown is on.

@Emilychen- Thank you. Feeling more level today! What a whirlwind.

Flowerchild547 · 20/07/2026 13:25

Hi! Joining on here as found out over weekend that I am pregnant. Not sure how far along I am but digital test says 2-3 weeks so between 4&5 perhaps?
I’m hoping to book an early scan but not sure when would be best to do it due to not knowing conception date!

Hope the first trimester fatigue isn’t hitting you all too hard!

@Orchid887 thank you! It's not till 815pm... Counting down in nervous excitement and disbelief! So glad you've got yours booked in. I want to say "it will whizz by" but it felt like a long time for me to wait a week because I'm so impatient!!!

@Flowerchild547 welcome and congratulations!! My LMP was 1 June and I tested 2-3 weeks on Clearblue about 5 weeks in. Haven't had scan yet to confirm it's correct though. I decided to book scan for 7 weeks so there's more chance of seeing heartbeat even if I'm a few days behind where I thought. When are you thinking?

OP posts:
Emilychen · 20/07/2026 16:25

the countdown to that first scan is the longest week ever, i ran through every worst-case and best-case scenario in my head the whole time. booking at 7 weeks so there's a better shot at the heartbeat sounds like a smart call. thinking of you tonight, hoping it's everything you want it to be.

@OneSereneShark hope the scan goes well, please let us know how it went!

I’m thinking to book it around 10th Aug which would make me potentially between 7&8 weeks and hoping to be able to see a heartbeat. Luckily (or unluckily) my husband is away the week before so I am forced to wait that little bit longer!

Emilychen · 20/07/2026 19:15

Booking around 7 to 8 weeks feels like such a smart call for a better shot at the heartbeat, fingers crossed for you. Kind of funny how the universe used your husband being away to force a little patience on you, might be a blessing in disguise. Thinking of you, hoping that scan is everything you want it to be.

OneSereneShark · 20/07/2026 22:00

We saw a heartbeat ❤️ Measuring 4.6mm so I'm a week less than I thought and it's really thrown me! I had a bit of a meltdown when we got home and I don't know why... It's so irrational!

I know I should feel grateful and happy that we have a heartbeat. My partner was elated and he is feeling a bit sad that I'm not appearing happy... The picture is just a blob 🤣 But it's our blob and it has a heartbeat 💖

OP posts:
Emilychen · 20/07/2026 22:47

A heartbeat is such huge news, congrats on your little blob. And please don't be hard on yourself for the wobble, feeling shaky after a big scan doesn't cancel out the happy at all, both can be true at the same time. Your partner will get it, you're allowed to feel all of it.

OneSereneShark · 21/07/2026 07:18

Thank you @Emilychen , I needed to hear that! Kept waking up in the night remembering the flicker of the heartbeat on the screen 🥰
