Thought I would make a thread for those due in March 2027, I joined a thread for my previous rainbow pregnancy in 2022 and I found it so helpful. I found out this week that I am pregnant with my second rainbow baby, after losing my first baby at 29 weeks. I am feeling incredibly anxious, more so than in my first pregnancy after my loss. Wishing everyone a smooth pregnancy ahead 🤞🏼

@ImpatientlyTryingToConceive aww how exciting I bet they’ll be over the moon , it’s the best isn’t it ours are the same will be the first grandchild on both sides! I have two younger brothers and my DH has one younger sister so they’ll be made up as well . So happy for everyone x

Similar situation for us. We're both the first borns with a younger brother, and I have a younger sister as well. So will be first grandchild.
I must admit though that I've teased my mom in the past saying she'd have to wait for my brother to give her grandchildren (he's 4 years younger and not in a rush) so I'm sure I'll get a great reaction from them.

gossipgoat · 30/06/2026 07:56

I’m dying to tell people! I have only told one very close friend, for support either way. Very hard not telling my sister, she invited me for a night out in a couple of weeks and I think I just need to make an excuse and not go, it will be a dead give away if I go and don’t have a drink! I think I am going to have hibernate until 12 weeks….

How lovely that you got to share this news with them right away.
I think my mom would be heartbroken if she wasn't the first to know so trying to keep it from my friends as well which is hard because they've been through this journey with me, they've had tearful calls and voice notes from me as AF has arrived when I hoped it wouldn't, etc. So really hate the waiting but I really want to wait to tell my mom in person. So jealous of you right now actually.

Oh I am so sorry if what I said came across as insensitive. I completely understand you though, especially after everything you've been through. I really hope this time passes soon and you can tell her. Seeing my mum was a last min decision (she'd had an operation and I went to look after her) but she said after that even if I hadn't seen her then she'd have been so mad if I hadn't phoned and told her straight away.

I'm the same as you and @Lucky444 - first grandchild on both sides, DH and I are both eldest siblings and none of our younger siblings are in long term relationships even so I think a lot of hopes have been pinned on us!

Lucky444 · 30/06/2026 08:05

@ImpatientlyTryingToConceive how lovely will be very spoilt babies 😂 it’s lovely when you have supportive family isn’t it

@gossipgoat I went for a Thai meal out with family the other day and I even struggled with that making sure I wasn’t eating anything I shouldn’t , why don’t you suggest a nice meal out so then you’re not missing out you could say you’re on a health kick haha

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 30/06/2026 08:55

Joining! Not sure how many dpo I am as testing did not go well this month but today is CD31 trying for #2. Got a very faint positive on CD24 with a 6 day early test and this yesterday on a standard one. Keeping all my fingers crossed goes well!

Hello @Lucky444 👋🏼 lovely to see you over here. Has your clinic given you a scan date yet?

I want to surprise our families after around 10 weeks. We have a 3.5yo DS so it makes it more complicated this time as we will be telling him also, so have to make sure we’re pretty much in the clear. My birthday is 15/08 and that’s a Saturday this year, I’d be just over 11wks.. my OH thought it’d be nice to go for a big family meal and let our DS tell everyone.

Lucky444 · 30/06/2026 09:37

@mumtrovert Heyy nice to see you 🥰 yes I have on the 16th July so I’ll be 6+6 so exciting but nerve wracking isn’t it . Have you got yours now as well?
Aww that’s a lovely idea the big brother t shirts are really cute as well

Sheequi · 30/06/2026 10:25

i told my boss this morning… I am meant to be in the office for a meeting but I’m so exhausted I can barely move and can’t face the commute. My 18 month DS was up half the night and my DH is away atm so im solo parenting too. I know I didn’t need to disclose so early but i need some flexibility at work atm… so my boss is one of the first people to know along with our parents!

Definitely not insensitive at all. I was just saying I want to be in your position and how lucky you are. Sorry that I made you worry about that. It was all said with a smile and friendly jealousy :)

IThinkImThirtySomething · 30/06/2026 11:22

I’ve told my mum (because she was hosting at the weekend and I knew that me not drinking was suspicious 😂) and I’ve told one of my bosses today. My other boss will know next week when she is back from leave. I’m tempted to tell my dad and DH’s parents this week, then siblings at 12 weeks.

Ive got mega sore boobs today. I am 5w on thurs. Feels like ages to go!

That was my idea! I just wanted to go and visit them and have a jacket on DS and ask them to take his jacket off, and he’d have a big brother t-shirt on. My OH wants to do it with everyone together. Maybe I’ll get my own way nearer the time 😂

We seem to keep being a day apart! Mine is the 15th.

CMGC · 30/06/2026 12:33

Also delighted to be joining this thread (hello @mumtrovert👋) after a successful first round of IVF. Been a very long two year journey and never had even a whiff of a positive before so I’m absolutely terrified and buzzing at the same time! Because of IVF I’m booked in for my scan on July 16th and due date is March 3rd. Told my parents as they have been wanting this for a few years for myself and my husband and are dying to be grandparents but will wait to tell my brother after my scan and then everyone else at the usual 12 weeks! Bring on the journey!

@ImpatientlyTryingToConceive no worries, just didn't want to sound too brazen! I'm very excited for when you get to share your news :)

It's really nice to hear a couple of people have told their bosses already, I'm keeping it hidden for now as am on holiday next week anyway but if nausea/fatigue kicks in I've decided I'll definitely share with her. We have a good relationship and she's a mum of two herself so hopefully it'll help with getting some flexibility to manage the next few months.

mumtrovert · 30/06/2026 12:48

Lovely to have you here @CMGC! Interestingly my due date calculator says 4th March! But we transferred same day didn’t we?

Yeah I was thinking that! My app also says March 4th but the nurse from my clinic rang me yesterday after the beta result and told me March 3rd so I’ll go with that!

Hopefulmama21 · 30/06/2026 13:46

Hey, joining here if that's okay 😊

I'm due early March (4th from a calculator) and this will be our third baby.

No real symptoms yet except for bloating and one sore boob 😆

I turned 4 weeks today and it feels like a lifetime away even though my boobs are killing already haha

SantiagoSister · 30/06/2026 14:34

Congratulations @FlyingHighFlyingLow @Hopefulmama21 @CMGC! Lovely to have you join us.

I find telling people really difficult after a traumatic experience with my first baby. We told everyone after the 12 week scan, had a gender reveal party at 18 weeks and then everything fell apart at the 20 week scan when it was discovered my son was really poorly. I found it really hard having to explain everything to everyone repeatedly, and then having to tell everyone that we’d lost him at 29 weeks broke me. When I was pregnant with my second baby, we told my dad straight away as we’re very close (I unfortunately lost my mum nearly 10 years ago otherwise she would’ve been the first to know), and told my DH parents after the 20 week scan. We then didn’t tell anyone else until after he was born and I could finally let myself believe we could bring him home. Thankfully that was made easier by covid because there wasn’t much meeting up going on so we had a lots of video calls with people instead of meeting up. This time I will definitely wait until at least the 20 week scan before we tell anyone, then just tell people as and when we see them after that, and hope for the best 🙏🏻

@SantiagoSister I'm really sorry that you went through loss in your last pregnancy, I totally understand why you struggle to tell people your news but it's a cause for celebration and everyone will be so pleased for you.

I've told my two closest friends and no one else so far, I feel really uncomfortable sharing anything about myself and want to crawl up my own butt so I might just do a group WhatsApp when we've had our 12 week scan.

I'm particularly dreading telling my manager, they are child free by choice and I know they won't be happy about the thought of me taking maternity leave or finding work travel more tricky as the pregnancy progresses.

FlyingHighFlyingLow · 30/06/2026 16:01

Thank you! So sorry to hear about your loss.

I'll have to tell work soon for health and safety reasons. We didn’t tell pretty much anyone bar immediate family before 20 weeks last time, which was easy because I was tiny. Now I swear I'm bigger at 4 weeks than 20 last time. I'm already having to be strategic with my clothes 🙉 my previous boss did not take it well so hoping my new one will be slightly better 😅

IThinkImThirtySomething · 30/06/2026 17:40

@SantiagoSister so sorry you went through just a devastating experience with your last pregnancy, I can understand why you feel apprehensive sharing the news this time.

I’m only telling my two managers as a need-to-know in the event of really bad sickness as I suffered terribly in my last pregnancy until around 18 weeks. I had a few weeks reprieve feeling relatively good and in good spirits until my mobility started to get bad and I was then diagnosed with PGP / SPD at 23-24 weeks and ended up being signed off until my mat leave automatically kicked in at 36 weeks. Really hoping it isn’t the case this time around and I have a better time. Due to my crappy pregnancy last time, I felt so mentally drained by the end of it that I couldn’t even bring myself to try breastfeeding - all being well with this pregnancy, I really want to be in a good headspace to try 🤞🏼

SantiagoSister · 30/06/2026 21:04

@IThinkImThirtySomething thank you ❤️
Sorry to hear that you really went through it last time with the sickness and PGP 😩 really hoping you have a smoother ride of it this time round, 9 months is such a long time to be feeling so bad.
