Thought I would make a thread for those due in March 2027, I joined a thread for my previous rainbow pregnancy in 2022 and I found it so helpful. I found out this week that I am pregnant with my second rainbow baby, after losing my first baby at 29 weeks. I am feeling incredibly anxious, more so than in my first pregnancy after my loss. Wishing everyone a smooth pregnancy ahead 🤞🏼

I spoke to a midwife today and she reassured me and advised me not to worry about it. She just said to ensure I am always washing hands after nappy changes, nose wipes etc but thats to protect baby against other things such as toxoplasmosis etc too. She said sharing food and toddler kisses is unlikely to cause any problems and you would need to exchange a bucket of salvia with a toddler to be at risk so hopefully all is ok but going forward I'm going to avoid eating leftovers/sharing food and kisses on head or cheek from now on, for my peace of mind if nothing else!

I don't think I heard about it in my second pregnancy until later on and I had definitely given my daughter kisses and shared food with her and dd2 was fine so fingers crossed all is ok for us both 🙂 pregnancy is such a worry isn't it!!

It could just be that your HCG isn't high enough yet. I did a clearblue test with my first pregnancy first thing in the morning which was positive and then tested again at night and it was negative. I was so deflated until I did another one the next morning and it was positive. Fingers crossed that's the case for you.

Thank you so much for this, that’s really reassuring to hear! I plan on doing the same as you and not sharing food etc, kiss on the cheek/forehead from now on too, just to be safe. For my own sanity, I definitely don’t want anything else to worry about!! It’s great that you were all ok in your previous pregnancy before you were aware of any risks, so hopefully it’s not a common thing. I did read the most severe cases of congenital CMV occur with infection before 14 weeks gestation, so only another 7 weeks to really overworry for myself 🙈

Hey everyone, I have just found out I am pregnant and due mid March. I am 37 and this will be my first baby. I feel so unprepared so hoping that having a community of others in the same stages will help with figuring all of this out!

Aww I felt exactly the same with my first but it all just sort of comes together! I still speak to my due date WhatsApp group everyday two years on. Congratulations ☺️

I did another first response this morning and the line is definitely darker so I’m trying to allow myself to relax a little.
