Are you sure you're only 8 weeks? I don't think it's possible to feel movement that early

Ikeameatballlunch · 04/05/2026 16:24

Congratulations! I definitely felt flutters/ tickles at 7 weeks which I thought was weird. I put it down to having had a c section with the first one (not sure why!)

CatRescueNeeded · 04/05/2026 16:27

I’m sorry but there’s no way that can be happening at 8 weeks - the fetus is still behind the pelvic bone and is about the size of a raspberry! Either you’re much further along than you think or your mistaking other things for being the fetus!

Mitchyden · 04/05/2026 16:31

I’ve had 2 c-sections although the 2nd took longer to recover from lol

Hi this is my 5th pregnancy so I definitely know the feeling of flutters thanks

Watercooler · 04/05/2026 16:32

I think you're either further along or you've got wind.

Mitchyden · 04/05/2026 16:34

5th pregnancy so I definitely know the difference lol thanks

Maybe you've had five windy pregnancies

Mitchyden · 04/05/2026 16:39

Yeah no there is a difference in the feeling

AutumnAllTheWay · 04/05/2026 16:51

Wind. Plus very weak stomach muscles after multiple previous pregnancies.

Have you looked at the position and size of an 8 week old fetus?

To be fair, we've all thought this, that we're showing early and feeling flutters that early, its quite impossible tho!

Mitchyden · 04/05/2026 16:59

No it’s not wind as I’ve said I know the feeling and I’ve also went up a couple of sizes and yeah I know the baby is small but with this being 5th pregnancy and having 2 previous C-sections it’s not impossible to feel it I have spoken to midwife and gynaecologist about it thanks

My girl is 9 weeks. Shes my 5th baby but 7th pregnancy. There was a point when I was about 11 weeks when I was stood in the kitchen chatting to my 16 year old daughter. I went oh and paused. My daughter asked if I was ok and I was like wow that movement felt strong 🥰 never felt them so strong that early before. When I went for my scan I was 6 days ahead. So I was about the 12 week mark when I felt that strong movement. Felt most of my babies before my 12 week scans. I dont get those "gas/wind" feelings when not pregnant. I know its my babies wriggling about. I even convince myself I imagine it because ive miscarried in the past. I do think some women are more intune with their bodies. Never felt implantation on my others but swear I did on baby girl. Got to the point I even thought ectopic pregnancy before I tested positive because I never experienced the implantation feeling before. Started to looking into left sided pain and it said could be implantation. Then I wondered about old myths and they said girl 🤔 Her Dad said girl from the first time we tested. He wont tell me how he knew 🤬😂 i was convinced boy. I have 3 boys and a girl from previous relationships. He has a girl and 2 boys from previous relationships. Had a gut feeling boy i couldnt shift. Dad was right 🫣😂

Everyone's different. Ive had 3 c sections. On one i remember the lady next to me struggled so bad to get out of bed and needed the nurses to take her to the toilet. Ive been very lucky and mine wasnt too bad at all. Uncomfortable but I never need help or painkillers. Was driving day 9 on that section. This time around i was driving the next day and im a geriatric too at the ripe old age of 40 😂 if you know you know 🙄😂

tsmainsqueeze · 04/05/2026 17:22

I believe you felt it.
Iv'e had 4 pregnancies and 3 live births , out of them all i felt it only once at 8/9 weeks i remember it so clearly ,i was lying on my back in bed just relaxing and i felt flutters ,as my pregnancy progressed and i felt the normal flutters /movement i knew that that was what i had felt weeks earlier.
We are all different and we all have different experiences of pregnancy , Congratulations !

Ok I know my body I know the difference and I have spoken to the people as I’ve stated also I didn’t ask what I was feeling because I know what am feeling and I didn’t come on here for abuse so if anyone has nothing nice to say or think they knows everything then please don’t comment

I have reported @Dianaben's post. It sounds like a scam to me!

Gege11 · 04/05/2026 19:35

I felt my youngest before 12wks. Once she rolled a couple of times

havingoneofthosedays · 04/05/2026 20:16

Surprised the T word hasn’t been mentioned yet…

Growlybear83 · 04/05/2026 20:20

I felt very definite flutters by 8 weeks, and I knew my dates were accurate because I had IVF.

Mitchyden · 04/05/2026 20:30

T word?

OP posts:
cauliflowercheeseplease · 04/05/2026 21:37

Sorry but what you are experiencing is wind or digestive changes. It’s not even a baby yet and is only just growing limbs.

It’s literally the size of a kidney bean behind the uterus wall. You are quite big for 8 weeks, but obviously this is your 5th and it depends on how long you’ve left it between pregnancies as it takes a long time for your uterus to shrink.

I asked my midwife this exact question during early pregnancy because I was very excited.

PurpleLovecats · 04/05/2026 21:41

I think it is just fluttery nerves from your c sections. I had them in my 3rd and 4th pregnancy after having had sections previously and I knew it couldn’t be the baby as they’re too teeny. You also show early through weak muscle tone.
