Hiya everyone. Ttc with ovulation and bbt tracking and using Premom and ff. Premom is saying 8dpo but ff is saying 5dpo. My day 10 temp was 36.15 and was took 2 minutes after I got up as I forgot to take it when I woke up before getting up so do I leave that in there or delete it also which app is right because without that specific temp ff would still be saying 6dpo I am very confused I have attached both charts guys and had quite a few positive opk this month also my first month ttc. Thank you for any support in advance

Honestly if it's your first month, I'd delete those apps and stay off MN. If you have a regular cycle, it's very likely you ovulate at a predictable time. Just have sex every 1-2 days from after your period. It's common to take a year so have realistic expectations.

We can’t do that we are a lesbian couple and have a donor to help so that would be too much 🥰

what I would probably do in your circumstances is track your next 2-3 cycles and then once you have an idea of how the two methods vary for you then TTC

Ovulation windows and tracking aren't exact sciences. I would in general go for the earlier date as sperm lives for longer than and egg

Please tell me that this isn't a "donor" you've found on Facebook or any other social media?

I keep seeing this and it's so irresponsible.

Peonies12 · 15/04/2026 10:07

I thought the fertility clinic would be advising you on tracking? That's what my friend had when she did IUI

Ezmai · 15/04/2026 10:20

Thank you and we are doing at home insemination and no it’s not someone from Facebook or social media it’s someone we personally know. We have a 12 month old by the same donor 🥰

i will be happy to keep updating throughout. I’m obviously not expecting to but previously I did get pregnant on cycle 1 but lost the baby. The baby stopped growing at 6 weeks and didn’t lose until 9 weeks it was an awful time and me and my fiancée was doing it together so baby would have been the same age as our daughter now so I’m a little scared to be honest 🥰

Honestly I conceived once I started ignoring the apps and ovulation tests. If you have a regular cycle monitor cervical mucus (discharge) as this is the best indicator of ovulation.

The Reddit board queerception is very helpful for at home insemnination, if you’re not on it already. Unfortunately multiple goes in one cycle (I.e. every other day over your fertile window) will much improve your chances but appreciate this isn’t always possible with a donor.

I've only looked at your FF chart because none of the 'pretty chart' apps are as easy to read as FF and I struggle with them!

I don't do LH strips so not clued up, but is the chart showing a positive LH test on CD20? If so, it seems unlikely you ovulated before CD21. Your temps (weirdo one on CD18 excluded) actually look like they could be starting a new rise on CD21, but it's too early to tell.

I think that seeing as this is your first month temping AND the temps do not (yet) appear to agree with the LH strips AND you have an unfortunate glitch temp on an important cycle day... that this cycle will not tell you with any certainty which day is ovulation day. You may get some idea once your period starts, as your LP can't be longer than 16 days at absolute max so you can count back from that and exclude any possible O date before then.

Temping does take a bit of getting used to, but it's well worth it to understand your cycle better.

I just had another positive ovulation test I don’t know what is going on. First month back to ttc after my miscarriage nearly 2 years ago and my body decides to play games with me. Feeling a bit like a failure 😣

Your body can have multiple attempts at ovulating in a cycle. Best assume your previous positive LH test was a failed ovulation, and you could be about to ovulate now. Get to it!

Ezmai · 16/04/2026 21:56

Ovulation was confirmed with bbt stomach and back cramps and ewcm

HeyMay · 16/04/2026 22:06

In my opinion (BBT for five years) you haven't yet confirmed ovulation with the BBT. You need more days of data, especially as you have multiple dodgy temps taken at the wrong time. I can't comment on how certain you are about the cramps obviously, but you can certainly get repeat episodes of ewcm too.
If there's no issue with having a bit more sex, I would definitely cover the possibility (however slim) that you might be about to ovulate now.

Ok I will do thank you and will keep this thread up to date of my outcome 🥰

Update so far. Another positive ovulation test today in the am. TMI Also had tiny bit of brown when wiping this am. Last night had this weird sharp shooting pain in my stomach and down my left leg. I don’t get any symptoms before af I usually get it then get cramps I’m either 7dpo or 10dpo thinking maybe ff is right but it’s just a waiting game. Although I do feel like I’m out and will come on af for some reason just not sure why. Af is due Tuesday or later if I ovulated later. Will keep updating just in case this helps anyone else 🥰

Also just to go in to detail about the pain in my stomach and leg last night my stomach was like a sharp burning pinching it was bizarre at any rate 🥰

Interesting!
I think there are just too many possibilities here at the moment! You will have to wait until AF comes to get any certainty I guess. But charting is so useful once you have done a few cycles so don't give up.
Another possibility based on your temps is that you ovulated around CD14, as in many women temps take two days to rise after ovulation rather than the much advertised one day. That would tie in with your positive opk on CD12. But doesn't explain the positive opk on CD19/20! Are you definitely only recording them as positive if the test line is at least as dark as the control?
Have you taken an hpt in the last couple of days? LH tests can pick up HCG too.

Ezmai · 17/04/2026 17:26

yes theyre as dark or dark I will attach all the separate ones in a picture and it is so confusing thank you for your help I will keep updating too no matter what happens

Took my bad temp out. The one I recorded after I got up and Premom and ff is looking the same but on Premom I’m 11dpo and on ff I’m 10dpo so deffo think I’m out as previously with my mc I had a positive at 9dpo but will keep updating and let you know when AF comes. Hopefully next cycle will be easier to track 😂😂😂

Also to add just in case this does help anyone. I did have a temp drop this morning but still above the cover line I will add pics of my chart just in case it does help someone in the future too

On its own your chart looks relatively typical, but it's just the LH tests that are highly confusing! You don't have PCOS or something for you? That can make LH tests unreliable. It doesn't make sense to have high LH in the middle of the luteal phase, which is why I wondered if your LH tests were picking up HCG, but I assume you have also done an hpt so it's not that.
Today's temp dip could be coming up to AF, or it could be a 1-2 day mid-luteal dip. You'll know in a few days!
