@NewAgeDawningthank you, I will get in touch with her then to see what support can be offered.

I’m not having any symptoms at all and wouldn’t know I was pregnant if it wasn’t for tests. I know I should probably be grateful but symptoms I find help to know it’s real and actually happening. I’m 4+3 so maybe still too early but I remember feeling nauseous in my other two pregnancies by now and my nipples changed but again nothing so far.

Hope everyone’s having a lovely Easter bank holiday weekend x

I filled in the online form 2 weeks ago. I was emailed about badger notes and told the midwife will contact me between 8-10 weeks. For me thats about 2-4 weeks time. But I couldn't sign up. It asked me for a security word, but I've not made one yet. šŸ¤”

Alwaysgrowing · 06/04/2026 10:50

They weren't using badger notes in my last pregnancy

NewAgeDawning · 06/04/2026 10:59

@rach971thats incredible! Did they say why they thought you might be pregnant? Maybe they realised you looked sleepy since thats your main symptom haha
Ive already self referred only because I am due a free NIPT and want them to do it as soon as I can. They've already come back to me and booked me for the 8th May when ill be 9+5. Thats just the booking appointment so ill be emailing to make sure i am fast tracked properly.
@Sa11yCinnamonooh I see isnt that interesting. So all in all pretty much a benign bleeding, when you had it last. If you get it again chances are itll be for the same reason.

rach971 · 06/04/2026 11:45

@NewAgeDawning No just one of them said they think I'll have another baby, then another said no I don't think you will for some reason. Then a week or so ago before I had symptoms, I had a dream that I was pregnant. So weird!

pastaislife · 06/04/2026 12:07

Thanks ladies really appreciate your thoughts and advice ā™„ļø just finding the night times hard and long with not being able to sleep and the anxiety. But feeling better in the day so trying to get in a more positive mind frame. Hope you’re all ok and having a good weekend, well done for doing your referrals. Badger Notes also in our area, which I’ll do in a few days as says to do it at 6 weeks here xxx

Aprahel87 · 06/04/2026 14:37

I self referred online as well pretty much the day I found out, considering normal waiting times whenever I tried to contact NHS. Told me it will be within 10 working days- like everything else at this stage it all seems to be a waiting game!

I wanted to get some advice, especially from those who already went through pregnancy before. What type of exercise can we do at the moment? I tend to be very active (CrossFit 3 or 4 times per week) which I currently paused since it is very high intensity and I don’t think I should put my body through that. However I am not sure on the best alternative- anyone else have experience with this?

NewAgeDawning · 06/04/2026 14:49

@Aprahel87 I always heard that if your body is used to something then its ok to continue, i mean look at ultra marathonjsts and body builders. Dont quote me on it please, but thats what I see and hear. Crossfit is v high intensity and usually not recommended if youre ttcing but obviously you are pregnant now so its irrelevant
Ive always done gentle exercise - daily doggy walks and yoga /pilates. I carried on with those until I gave birth last time and intend on doing the same this time round

KelpieTheFirst · 06/04/2026 15:09

Hi all, early days for me, my partner and I were just talking about trying for a baby later in the year and my 93yr old grandma warned against waiting too long... and I was already pregnant and didn't know! We're shocked (the timing isn't amazing) but happy. I did a cb test yesterday cause I felt tired and was craving potatoes (which I usually don't like) and got 2-3 weeks. It's my first, no idea what to expect.

@NewAgeDawning thank you, I read something similar I guess I am just worried since CrossFit also includes lots of weightlifting with pressure on you core etc., and I am in the mindset better safe than sorry. I have been doing some light training, and considering maybe getting professional advice from a trainer, so we will see.

@KelpieTheFirst welcome and congratulations šŸ˜€

@KelpieTheFirstwelcome and congratulations! Thats what these groups are for, to learn together.

I got a book called Bumps and Burpees which gave modifications for each trimester, it’s really good.

The main thing is you don’t want your core temperature raising too high/fast, and you also have a hormone called relaxin which loosens your joints and ligaments and can make you more susceptible to injury so you might need to lower the intensity a bit, but overall you don’t need to change much at this stage.

In my last pregnancy I stopped running because my boobs were too sore but kept up strength training til pretty near the end. I think it really helped my postpartum recovery.

Ncl31 · 06/04/2026 17:05

I usually do body combat 3 times per week, but since I’ve lost 3 previous pregnancies we’ve agreed I’ll do absolutely nothing to ā€œriskā€ anything. So I’ve switched to cycling, I used to go with my mum and a friend together, so to keep my motivation up I’m meeting them and cycling while they do the class, if I’m not too tired that is.
I’ve also registered with maternity online and have been given my magic phrase. My booking appointment is 5th May and I’ll be 9 weeks, I’ll mention to her then that when I was seen in the bereavement clinic I’m to be consultant led, I’m not really sure what that actually means if I’m honest, but they have told me I’ll be closely monitored for pre-eclampsia and low birth weight.

@Sa11yCinnamon thanks so much I will definitely check that book out!

Kate543 · 06/04/2026 20:13

@Ncl31 i was consultant led my last pregnancy after an extremely complicated pregnancy with my first. It just meant that at my scan appointments I saw a consultant after instead of a midwife

allbrandnew · 07/04/2026 00:10

Just found out I’m pregnant this Easter holiday, I’m roughly 6 weeks in. apparently I’m due 30 Nov/1st Dec

having a hard time as I’m 40 and in a very new relationship with the baby daddy not interested in keeping the baby. I’m hoping it’ll stick, and I’ll be a single mother. It’ll be hard but it’ll be harder to get pregnant if I abort this one?

really struggling with this. Wish it was different

Ncl31 · 07/04/2026 06:45

@allbrandnew welcome and congratulations. I’m sorry baby daddy isn’t interested in keeping the baby. But I guess you know what is the right thing for you. Have you explained to him why you’d like to keep the baby?

also, I done my CB digital this morning at 5w and got 3+, I was super anxious about it because I didn’t get 3+ until 5+6 with my last pregnancy, sadly baby stopped growing at 10+5 so I’m praying this is a better sign šŸ¤žšŸ»

@allbrandnewwelcome! That's a tough position to be in, im sorry. Only you know the right thing to do. What ill say is men come and go but the love and bond with a child is forever. Good luck
@Ncl31thats great news on your 3+ im sure thats a great sign of what's ahead. Will you continue testing?

Aprahel87 · 07/04/2026 07:10

@allbrandnew welcome and congratulations. Really tough position to be in, but just focus on taking care of yourself and the baby at the moment. You will know why the right choice is

@Ncl31 excellent news!

NewAgeDawning · 07/04/2026 07:33

Ive just done a cheapie. The test line is now the same colour as the control line. Maybe tomorrow ill have my dye stealer šŸ™šŸ½ disclosure im just doing this for fun. Recently I've enjoyed seeing online pictures of tests progressing and wanted to do it myself too x

wonderlust07 · 07/04/2026 07:47

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend. I have still been testing daily šŸ™ˆI will have to stop soon as they’re the same every day now but yes more relaxed since the bloods. The nurses should be calling this morning and then I may self-refer. I only have two days at work this week then I’m off on holiday - feel like my symptoms may increase while I’m away!

oh wonderful, where are you holidaying? Yes its possible youll become more aware of your symptoms.
Bloods trump everything else. its good youve gotten those done.

Sa11yCinnamon · 07/04/2026 10:02

Well I think I got away with it with my parents and in laws… not that they’d actually say anything if they suspected!

All being well we should next see my in laws just after 12 weeks so it’d be nice telling them in person, last time was on FaceTime.

How is everyone doing? Hope you all had a relaxing Easter weekend!

NewAgeDawning · 07/04/2026 10:38

@Sa11yCinnamonah good job at dodging that one..perfect timing with your next visit, youll be able to tell them face to face

Getting to the 12 week mark feels like forever right now though! Im sure itll be here before we know it
