@Purplerocketwelcome and congratulations! The foq is part of your booking appointment and it stands for family origin questionnaire. They'll take all your vitals, like blood pressure urine sample and blood samples to test a variety of things. Im sorry for your previous loss, hopefully if you mention it and ask for an early scan you may get one.

Ncl31 · 15/04/2026 18:30

@Kitty1989S yes I can see it - congratulations 🄳

@Purplerocket i have a reassurance scan at 6+2 tomorrow on the NHS. Yes it is possible, my EPU is usually pretty good, plus I work upstairs in theatres so they’re usually very good at looking after us. One of the consultants I work closely with is on call tomorrow so he said he will pop in to see ā€œthe twinsā€ as Hess convinced I’m going to have them! Haha

thank you for all of your positive words ladies, work has been really busy and my manager called me just before I left to wish me luck for tomorrow - I was touched that she remembered.

@NewAgeDawning I had giant babies so far so I'm covered in them. DC2 had a different lie than DC1 so popped them up in different places too. 🫠

Overthinking to the max! 26 hours until our scan and I’ve convinced myself we’re going to be told we’ve lost our baby :(
got a day at work to try and stay distracted, I just want to know either way now

Thinking of you lovely - the waiting completely scrambles your brain doesn’t it. Really hope everything goes well for you tomorrow x

Very gently joining as I think I tested positive today (rainbow) due date would be NYE… does anyone else see the line? I’ve been praying and I think I see it

Welcome!
If it makes you feel better, I had three very very faint tests, and really didn’t know if I could trust them. Then on the fourth nigh felt really sick, which with hindsight I think was my HCG levels rising and then, next morning, ā€˜bam’ very very positive test. I’ll post pics of my first test (and then had two days of the same) and then my fourth.

Hi everyone

Cautiously joining with an EDD of 21st Dec. I've already had a phone call to book an FOQ appointment (not sure what this is but she mentioned blood tests and taking height and weight) for next week and a booking appointment for the week after.

It's just over a year since I'd had a miscarriage between 6 and 7 weeks and everything is moving a lot faster this time! They mentioned last time about the possibility of an early reassurance scan for the next pregnancy - has anyone else had this on the NHS?

Fingers crossed to all those nervously waiting for scans šŸ¤ž

I contacted my GP and asked to be referred for an early reassurance scan in the EPAU due to previous loss. I got a call with an appointment soon after.

Feeling v bloated this morning after taking pregncare after dinner last night. Won't do that again.... breakfast or lunch and with juice as fit x helps absorbtiin. And every other day. I didn't take iron in my first pregnancy. My then midwife recommended folic acid for the first trimester and vitamin d. But a blood test towards the end of my pregnancy picked up low iron anima so I was on prescribed supplements. So I'm taking some iron to avoid it. Iron does store in your body so it takes a while to both become anemic and recover from anaemia. Also I am slightly prone to it as all the women have in my family have had some issues with it, not in pregnancy.

bluepurplegreen · 16/04/2026 08:11

@PhoenixSTL I did worry but then read about how common spotting is, so I was back to my baseline worry. Hope your nausea isn’t too bad today!

Three days now till my (private) scan. I only have mild nausea still, hoping I’m just lucky on that front, but the fatigue is something else.

Kate543 · 16/04/2026 09:17

@Ncl31 thinking of you this morning, hopefully scan goes well x

Ncl31 · 16/04/2026 10:13

@Kate543 thank you, we’ve just got home.
measuring around 6 weeks and saw a heartbeat. The relief is just unreal.

@Ncl31 oh that's fantastic news! So happy for you😊

@bluepurplegreen still feeling a bit rough today, but hoping working from home will help. Less artificial light, easier to take screen breaks, and easier to find snacks in the house that might help.

I was trying to remember what things were like with my son's pregnancy - fatigue was awful, and there was low level nausea. But i feel like I'm feeling a lot rougher this time around.

Amazing news!!! So so pleased for you.

What's next, will you be seen again before your dating scan?

Lookingtogrowthefamily · 16/04/2026 12:00

Ah that’s amazing @Ncl31, so happy for you!

I’ve just had a call from the midwife. Booking appointment will likely be on the 11th May but she said it’ll be a home visit. Didn’t know that was a thing? She said she’ll ring just before hand to setup the badger app

howluckyarewe · 16/04/2026 12:37

@Ncl31 amazing news! Seeing the heartbeat is such a special milestone.

@PhoenixSTL any chance this is twins? šŸ‘€ Despite barely surviving the postpartum period with an ounce of sanity left either time, I'd low key love them! I don't think my own tests were dark enough sadly.

Ncl31 · 16/04/2026 12:49

@Sa11yCinnamon yes they’ve booked me in for another scan 7th May - so I’ll be 9 weeks then.
I’m hoping I can keep the anxiety at bay until then.
I bought some rainbow muslins from Tommy’s and they’ve just arrived today - I’ll use them as a background for an announcement as this will be our rainbow baby

@Lookingtogrowthefamily ah nice, feels good to have the booking appointment in the calendar! How far along will you be for it?

@howluckyarewe haha, I'm hoping not šŸ˜… i did warn my partner of my daydreams from when I was growing up - i always pictured having 3 children, an eldest boy called Alexander and then twins (boy and girl). Well, we do have a son called Alexander now...(and I let my partner have the final choice in the name). So we shall see šŸ˜…

hollyhocks2 · 16/04/2026 14:33

@Ncl31so so happy for you. The rainbow muslins is a lovely nod!

Lookingtogrowthefamily · 16/04/2026 14:45

Just over 9w @PhoenixSTL but it feels like forever away 🄲.

I’m so torn on having an early scan. I had one for my other two pregnancies but the local private clinic is where I was told something was wrong in my second pregnancy and feel like I can’t go back there. The next nearest clinic is over an hour away and find it hard for myself and husband to both be able to go and have childcare for my toddler the same time. Toddler hates the car so it’s not an option to take him with us either. I’m thinking if I can get to the booking appointment without booking one, then I can wait until the NHS one. Has anyone else got an early scan? Sorry if you’ve already said, trying to keep up with the thread but missing some notifications x

LixxieM · 16/04/2026 14:47

@Lookingtogrowthefamily I have a early private scan on Saturday, I just can’t wait the whole 12 weeks without not knowing what’s going on xx

Lookingtogrowthefamily · 16/04/2026 14:48

Totally get that @LixxieM xx

Sa11yCinnamon · 16/04/2026 16:22

@Lookingtogrowthefamily I have one on Sunday at EPU but if I didn't have that I'd have booked a private one for around eight weeks.

Aprahel87 · 16/04/2026 19:08

I also have an early scan on Saturday, I will be 6w5d. Similarly I just can’t wait to check over everything

DevilsKitchen · 16/04/2026 19:32

I got my booking appointment through today!
