Marvelfan300 · 17/03/2026 20:46

Advice please was walking the dog this evening, stated feeling ‘water.’ Feeling in my underwear got to the front gate and looked down to soaked leggings and socks heavy blood and lots of clots.

went for a shower then a wee and this was in the toilet

called maternity they’ve booked for a scan tomorrow is this a miscarriage?

if so does anyone know why this would happen? I’ve been trying for years and finally fell pregnant with little rainbow baby… 12 week scan was booked for end of the week distraught.

I think you have to prepare for the worst but hope for the best.
xx

Moen · 17/03/2026 20:49

The photo isn’t visible yet, but I will be keeping everything crossed for you OP x

EDIT - Photo is now visible. I agree to prepare for the worst but hope for the best. Keeping you in my thoughts.

Sunshineclouds11 · 17/03/2026 20:50

im sorry, this is so scary.

I don't know what it is in the photo sorry and I wouldn't like to guess for your sake.

sending you love and strength

cannynotsay · 17/03/2026 20:55

Can you go into the triage? Passing clots bigger than a 50p is concerning. I’m so sorry you’re experiencing this x

Marvelfan300 · 17/03/2026 21:07

They’ve said they cannot do anything for me, but they will see me tomorrow if I get any pain or very heavy bleeding to call 999 or make my way to A&E… 🥲

definitely think it’s a miscarriage I also declined fertility services after 4 months of waiting because I finally was pregnant

Have you had a scan before this point? That is not a 12wk old foetus but it depends whether you know you are definitely that far along. I would be going into A&E so they can refer you up to EPU (in my Trust you can't just go straight up there but see how it works in your area). I really hope it turns out okay for you.

cannynotsay · 17/03/2026 21:18

I second A&E, keep yourself safe too

Marvelfan300 · 17/03/2026 21:25

I have had scans at 6 weeks and 9 weeks healthy heartbeat and baby seen!

i went to A&E last time I had a miscarriage and was sent home with no scan and just some morphine told to wait to out, I called EPU and the earliest they are willing to see me is tomorrow at 2 so I’m abit stuck I explained to the midwife I felt very dismissed last time in A&E and she advised me not much will be done at A&E either so to go home rest and if anything changes call 999 or make my way to the hospital🙁

i hope it’s not a miscarriage but the amount of blood I lost if of said I have.

TMI again x

It’s reassuring that a heartbeat was seen after 8 weeks, the risk of miscarriage decreases significantly at that point.

Are you in pain? It COULD be a heavy bleed with no cause found, or it could be a miscarriage. There is no way of knowing until your scan. Try and rest, stay hydrated and if it gets worse seek medical advice.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this OP x

StampOnTheGround · 17/03/2026 21:33

I had a huge bleed with something similar coming out, I thought it was a miscarriage - he’s nearly 4 and fast asleep in bed! I really hope you have a similar happy ending, I have everything crossed for you x

100Otters · 17/03/2026 21:35

It could be a hematoma https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chorionic_hematoma

That’s more likely if you aren’t in pain/cramping and the bleeding is slowing. Unfortunately no one can really say until tomorrow. Really sorry you are going through this. I have been there and know how distressing it is. Hoping for good news tomorrow Flowers

Squatbox · 17/03/2026 21:36

FWIW that doesn’t look like pregnancy tissue to me. It’s greyish, and light.

It looks like a clot.

Has the bleeding slowed down?

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 17/03/2026 21:38

Oh you poor thing. How scary for you! I really hope it all works out for you.

Marvelfan300 · 17/03/2026 21:39

Bleeding is still going but not as nearly as heavy right now I’m currently laying down with my feet up I don’t have any ‘pain.’ Or cramps a little backache but that’s about it nothing that’s stopping me and definitely doesn’t even feel like a period really… I’m fingers and toes crossed for this is just heavy blood but super worried😭

I bleed for most of my first and second trimester. It was really scary but she 7 now. You won't know until you scan. I think you need to prepare for the worst but hope for the best. A scan with a heartbeat doesn't mean you'll have a healthy pregnancy but it does reduce the miscarriage risk significantly.

BurningOutt · 17/03/2026 21:45

I’ve had both scenarios - a massive bleed at 10 weeks with cramping, which turned out to be nothing - totally healthy baby flipping around on the scan (my 5yo DD) and then a late miscarriage at 13 weeks after seeing a heartbeat at 10 weeks. Baby’s heart stopped few days after the scan at 10 weeks but it took 3 weeks for the mc to start (and I had no idea).

So it could really go either way OP but wishing you all the best and fingers crossed. If the bleeding gets too much (filling a pad in 30 mins) then go to A&E.

Marvelfan300 · 17/03/2026 21:50

This was my last scan at 8 weeks 5 days healthy heartbeat seen I’ve had no cramping or any sign this was going to happen just walking the dog as normal and suddenly started out of no where

Op I wanna give you a hug. Also note as other commenters say it really looks like clot. Pregnancy tissue is grey as I recall from my miscarriage. Either was I’m sorry you have to wait. I’d the bleeding gets too much please get checked tho xx

2UNDR2 · 17/03/2026 22:11

Oh bless you. I hope you get some rest tonight x

Justwingingit2005 · 17/03/2026 22:24
