Advice please was walking the dog this evening, stated feeling ‘water.’ Feeling in my underwear got to the front gate and looked down to soaked leggings and socks heavy blood and lots of clots.

went for a shower then a wee and this was in the toilet

called maternity they’ve booked for a scan tomorrow is this a miscarriage?

if so does anyone know why this would happen? I’ve been trying for years and finally fell pregnant with little rainbow baby… 12 week scan was booked for end of the week distraught.

Hi OP, just want to give you some hope! I had a massive bleed at 11 weeks exactly with my first, like you I suddenly felt 'wet' no cramps or anything went to the toilet and I was pouring out with blood! Passed a clot the size of my palm that I was so sure must've been the baby but the bleeding mainly stopped after that.
They said my cervix was closed but I had to wait a few days as it was Christmas day for a scan and lo and behold at my scan baby was there wriggling about and they saw absolutely no reason where the blood had come from! Fingers crossed yours is the same so there is hope for you x

Mmmchocolatebuttons · 18/03/2026 10:29

So sorry you're going through this, OP. I hope you get good news today.

CGR12 · 18/03/2026 12:52

Wishing you the best ❤️ hoping for the best for you xxx

Hoping for a positive outcome. I had heavy bleeding in both my pregnancies and know how awful it can be. Luckily they were both ok.

MotherofDogs3 · 18/03/2026 13:11

With my daughter i bled light/heavy with clots through out most my first trimester. She's now 2! It doesn't always mean the worst. I got everything crossed for you today xx

Marvelfan300 · 18/03/2026 13:48

I’m now waiting for the scan, keeping everything crossed will update this thread as soon as I know! Thank you all 💕

Keeping every crossed for you
While it’s very possible you’ve miscarried it may be a subchorionic haemorrhage.
I had a similar bleed and thought all hope was lost but she’s currently at school!
Good luck

Anewerforest · 18/03/2026 14:18

So sorry OP. Doesn't look good but fingers firmly crossed for you.

Marvelfan300 · 18/03/2026 15:41

Hello everyone baby is absolutely fine, on the scan sucking their thumb! I had a subchronic hematoma which they saw on the screen and predict another pool of blood is coming they said if the bleeding doesn’t stop in a week to come back but they predict it will subside! Thank you all for your messages and kindness through this really difficult time! 💕💞💕💞💕

100Otters · 18/03/2026 16:02

So so happy for you OP. I was really hoping this would be the case. I had two very alarming gushes of blood at 5 and 8 weeks around this time last year, and I’m now sitting in the park with my 4 month old. I was really hopeful that your symptoms sounded similar.

I hope your 12 week scan goes well and the rest of your pregnancy progresses safely and healthily xx

Anewerforest · 18/03/2026 16:04

I experienced similar at 10-11 weeks and it was also a suhchorionic haematoma. Such a scary time but everything was fine! I took it very very easy until the bleeding went away. Wishing you all the best!!
