Thanks @pastelheart and @AmberRose26! Not tracking my sleep but definitely waking up a LOT. Sometimes I also fall back quickly but lately am finding it harder because of pain and I think also anxiety naturally ramping up getting closer to her arrival (and after our slower growth scan). I know the best way forward would be to do what you suggest and sleep in the day as I am also finding it harder when I feel pressure to sleep well. I do have a few days when am out all day but plenty where I can try afternoon naps. Have had builders in for the past fortnight but they have finally gone so I have the house and my privacy back! Pillow-wise I have the long bbhugme and the babybub with its wedge. I just cannot seem to get the pressure off my hips/glutes no matter how I arrange them….

@AmberRose26 Great about the GD results! So strange about your midwife but hopefully she will be more proactive next time. Think mine started measuring my tummy at 28 weeks but I have always had urine and bp checks and heartbeat doppler from 16.

Oh also… I thought we could eat prawns so long as cooked and not sitting around at room temp for too long?! I have had prawns 😳😬

Ooh my gooodness @pastelheart a real live baby in there!!! Your gushing is making me gush ❤️

Aww @dubkitten she looks so much younger in her wee baby grow!

haha @CloudyIvy55 i do NOT like my
new big boobs, especially the way they touch the top of my bump when I’m sitting on my jammies. Least of my worries too ofc but I do hope to get back into my favourite clothes. And ahhh I so need to do a big clear out but I don’t seem to have the courage.

i had a spirally morning worried baby was kicking less (Friday 13th aaand first week without a cervical scan since 16 weeks) but I just took myself for a decaf mocha for the sugar rush and I’ve had a few nice kicks.

@AmberRose26 i get the M&S one it’s about £2 and lasts a good week or so. My mum and sisters are having a Mother’s Day celebration ( 🍸 🍹 🍷) and it’s the first time I can sort of join in so I’m gonna try make something fancy with my new favourite fruit juice! (And thanks for the reassurance about the orange drink!!)

Oh, just thought if a nice mocktail as I sip away at my pineapple juice (yes I had to get some after you mentioned the other day 😅) .. pineapple juice with some coconut milk .. you could mix it up with ice and will be a non alcoholic pinacolada! 😋🧉🍹

AmberRose26 · 14/03/2026 12:16

@magpie234 ah ok, she will maybes measure my tummy this time .. I do hope you sleep a bit better soon, is your mattress a harder style firmness at all ? Could you try a foam mattress topper see if it helps cushion your hips at all ? So sorry your struggling 💛

FancyGoose · 14/03/2026 22:59

Hi ladied, haven't been on here for ages and haven't caught up with everyone's posts yet but just wanted to let you all know that our beautiful son was born 5 March, after I went in on 3rd for some concerns around movement. Baby was struggling a bit so they decided to get him out. Unfortunately he was unwell with a condition called TOF which required surgery the next morning. He is in NICU and has so far been recovering well 🙏 the staff are absolutely phenomenal. I am beyond in love with him ❤️ hope everyone else is doing well!

Congratulations @FancyGoose 💙

Sorry to hear he is unwell, hopefully no he’s had the surgery his is on the mend. Any idea how long they need to keep him in NICU?

dubkitten · 15/03/2026 05:18

Happy Mother’s Day ladies 💐

FancyGoose · 15/03/2026 06:56

@dubkittenthey won't really give an indication beyond 'several weeks'. But not all of that should be in NICU - he will hopefully move to a high dependency ward soonish and then on to special care as he progresses 🙏🙏

And happy mother's day to you too! ❤️ can't believe I am finally a mummy 🥹

AmberRose26 · 15/03/2026 07:09

@FancyGoose massive congratulations! sorry you had a scary time at first but he is in the right hands and hopefully has a speedy recovery, ✨💛 such wonderful news ! Happy mothers day to all 💐🩷

I know it’s surreal! I remember last Mother’s Day - I was on round 3 of the IVF and said to my best friend that next year I’d either be celebrating my first Mother’s Day as a mam or that I never would. I’m now lying in bed listening to her snoring away 😂

Nosejug · 15/03/2026 09:56

magpie234 · 14/03/2026 09:42

@Nosejug How are you coping in the day? I feel so disregulated and constantly on the verge of tears from how exhausted I am 😭

Hah.. maybe not coping? I got all freaked out yesterday that baby had been moving less the past two days, called mat assessment hoping they’d agree I was just over anxious but they got me in. All seemed well, the midwife said baby was pressing back at her hand as she felt for movements, she was even a little emotional along with me hehe. But yeah, lack of sleep makes my MH a bit sketchy! Glad to have reassurance that all was well though, and then was treated to a long pummelling from inside in the evening which is more what I’m used to, and super active all morning so am much more reassured. Just so scared of silent infection I guess. But anyway, feeling good again. Happy Mother’s Day 🌞 🌼

Nosejug · 15/03/2026 10:01

Oh my goodness @FancyGoose congratulations! It must have been such a worrying time, surgery so early, but I’m glad to hear he’s recovering well and that the staff are brilliant. I hope you’re able to spend all the time you want with him and also recovering yourself and getting rest. I hope he gets to come home very soon ❤️ happy Mother’s Day to you

Nosejug · 15/03/2026 10:03

I might just try that out @AmberRose26 ! Glad to hear you’re enjoying the pineapple juice! :))

CloudyIvy55 · 16/03/2026 22:19

Massive congratulations @FancyGoose!!

Can relate to the trouble sleeping, most nights are a miserable mix of hip ache, heartburn and constant trips to the bathroom. Last night was really bad and I've been miserable all day.

I've got to be up early so I'm going to take a Rennie this evening. I've had this weird thing about avoiding any medication if I can during this pregnancy (even though I know Rennies are safe) which is total madness considering the mix of medications and hormones I put in my body to get pregnant 😂

pastelheart · 17/03/2026 10:02

@magpie234 your comment about prawns made me do some digging… we ca eat them! It made me so happy! I don’t know why I thought we couldn’t!

honestly just try and sleep when you can during the day, that’s what’s saving me because I really don’t think we will
be able to get long stretches of good sleep anymore, but have a look at the momcosy pillow- it’s u-shaped. It deffo did help but I’m not sure if it’s similar to what you already have

@FancyGooseomg! Congratulations!!!! I’m so glad he’s been recovering well 🩷🩷🩷 another group baby, it’s so exciting!

I had a bad bad bad day yesterday… I actually went to the doctors which I never ever do (after a drama of even getting an appointment…. ‘We have an appointment in a weeks time, is that okay?’ Well no not really if I wanted an appointment next week I would call up next week… did I mention I’m pregnant? Oh okay we have an appointment for you this morning) I have got a prescription for the heart burn tablet that was mentioned in here… feeling better today thank GOD

The heartburn tablet is a life saver - I was just sorry I didn’t go on it soon. Would definitely recommend anyone suffering to request it.

magpie234 · 17/03/2026 12:05

@pastelheart Omeprazole? That is my pregnancy hero. Enjoy! Thanks for the sleep tips… I agree I think grabbing what we can when we can is the only way now. But not too long to go. Then we can sleep badly for a different reason but at least have baby cuddles to keep us going!

@FancyGoose Oh wow! Huge congratulations. Sounds like a stressful start for you all but glad he is in the best place and getting great care. Hope you can get home soon 🩵

I have another hospital appt tomorrow to check my placenta blood flow is still as it should be after our reducing growth velocity diagnosis at the 32w scan. It was good then so am keeping my fingers crossed that all is still well and that the anatomy measurements are back on track at the 34w scan. In the meantime I having ramped up my prep and done a lot of shopping so I feel more ready should they want her out early. Think am getting close to being as ready as anyone can be which as we all know is really not that ready at all!

dubkitten · 17/03/2026 13:24

Good luck @magpie234!

St Patrick’s Day over here so we’re dressed in our green ☘️🇮🇪

@dubkitten Cute! She is such a little fashionista! Love it.

Is anyone else getting a lot of what I think are Braxton Hicks contractions? My bump keeps randomly tightening and I am not enjoying it!

I live with my best friend and her family and her 13 year old daughter loves picking her outfits 😂😂

Bought her christening dress the other day - love it! The 13 year old not so much 😂😂

pastelheart · 17/03/2026 19:10

@dubkitten yeah it seems to be doing the trick already, feel a lot better today. I hardly drank or ate yesterday as it makes my heart burn worse and I was worried I would just feel terrible again. SHES SO CUTE! I love her outfit!

@magpie234 yep that’s the one! I can’t say it let alone spell it lol think it’s working so I am pleased! I am looking forward to nighttime feeds, just me and baby (planning on breastfeeding) I have insomnia sometimes anyway so I am used to being awake in the night by myself so I’m thinking of it that it’s just that but better as I will have my little bestie with me too! Hope your appt goes well tomorrow. I get random Braxton hicks quite often, I’m aware of them and they are uncomfortable but not painful and don’t last long xx

@FancyGoose Huge congratulations 🎉 on the birth of your son. Sorry that he's been unwell that must have been a worry but glad he's had such excellent care. Wow, these baby stories are suddenly making it all feel very real! Hope you are ok and getting a bit of rest.
@magpie234 Hope your scan went well today. I can relate to the not feeling quite ready when actually plenty ready enough! My brain gets on a loop of things we might need when actually they don't need that much in the early weeks. You've got this!
@pastelheart Sorry you've been feeling rough and glad you got your appt plus the heartburn relief. You're right about grabbing sleep where you can, nights are short and days are long ATM...it's the endless peeing for me! Like you, I'm actually feeling sleepless breastfeeding nights will be better than this perpetual discomfort and illness! I'll need a reminder of this...
@Nosejug Does she kick more at night? I've had a couple of days where I've panicked as some days don't feel a lot but I think it's my busy days. Nothing like a good kicking to get you through the night! That's sweet the midwife was emotional too.
I'm 25 weeks now. Time feels so slow. My son wrote 'brother born' on the calendar the other day which I'd not noticed before, that made me cry for a few hours 😂 it's an emotional time. We've all had a weird virus this week which has been a bit of a blur. But this sunshine is so welcome. I kind of need to think about something other than where to put baby clothes!

CloudyIvy55 · 22/03/2026 14:50

How's everyone been getting on? I am 32 + 2 now and I feel like this weekend has been a turning point in how I feel. Burning almost constant heartburn, pain up under my ribs, so tired but cant get comfortable to sleep, very emotional/irritable and I feel so cumbersome - moving is becoming harder work. No one told me that turning over in bed would become such an effort 😂

Before, most of the time I felt pretty good, with just some difficulty sleeping.

magpie234 · 22/03/2026 15:59

34+2 here and relating 💯! Fed up but also want her to have more growing time before they get her out so keen not to jinx it… next growth scan on Weds which feels like a big one.

Getting my bag packed and her first load of clothes washed and ready in case she does come early. Need to order and set up a next-to-me crib but struggling as our bed is so high with quite a chunky frame to the side of the mattress. Stressing that am not sure am going to be able to satisfy the safety guidelines that say their mattress should be flush with yours or a few cm lower. Gahhhh. Have you all got yours and do they sit flush like an extension of your bed?

Sara237 · 22/03/2026 18:15

@CloudyIvy55 I remember that discomfort vividly especially the great heaving of turning over in bed. Sorry you're feeling so ropey. It's so hard. Does anything help with the heartburn?
@magpie234 I am planning to get one but now I'm not sure about my fed frame and mattress clearly more research needed. Last time I had a Moses basket but he was so big, he was in a cot really quickly. If it can be a few cm lower, is that where yours will sit?

magpie234 · 22/03/2026 18:20

Think am going to go for one of the Tutti Bambini Cozee ones as they are less rigid a frame so hopefully can get closer to my mattress. Just finding all the sleep safety stuff anxiety-inducing!
