@Sara237omg as if you would know the answer to that 😂😂 tbh I’m avoiding everyone atm, I just said to my partner I’m going to do an online food shop and he was like why don’t we go to Tesco? Erm because there are people there and they are annoying so no thanks

@Nosejug noooo not you! The midwife yesterday- she was very much like let’s get this baby out right now, which was a bit of a shock as I do still have a week until I’m 40 weeks! I am so glad you are a normal pregnant lady, must feel amazing! I have got my mum and dad to make me some meals for the freezer… although they haven’t appeared in my freezer yet so I hope they haven’t forgotten!

I am spending my time today let on the sofa moaning about being massive and how uncomfortable I am 🙃🙃🙃 and I’m going to also eat 10 ice lollies throughout the day and a share bag on chocolate buttons all to myself… I am also rewatching one born every minute which my partner is highly traumatised from and thinks is very very strange of me to be watching at this stage lol. How about you? X

OP posts:
Sara237 · 28/05/2026 13:05

@pastelheart Well as long as you're not traumatized by it, that's the main thing 😂 Day on sofa plus chocolate buttons sounds eminently sensible. I've just had 36 week scan and estimated weight is 7.5lb though I wonder how accurate this is...all good with baby they were shocked by how much he's grown! No wonder I can barely walk!
Take it easy. Xx

SarahAndQuack · 28/05/2026 13:14

Hope everyone is feeling a bit better today, now it's not so hot! And hope the babies are starting to calm down. So much sympathy for anyone breastfeeding in the heat!

I cancelled work today because I couldn't get to sleep until it started raining at 3am and got cooler - I only woke up at 9.40! So I made my excuses to my client and I'm having a lazy day. I think I'm going to start saying 'last visit' to people now. 37 weeks tomorrow! I can't believe it.

pastelheart · 28/05/2026 18:13

@Sara237 that’s a good size! I know growth scans can be out so take with a pinch of salt, but the growth scan I had for my first son was bang on (if you added 0.5lb per week) I am interested to see how big this baby is at 39 weeks when I get the growth scan through!

@SarahAndQuack glad you have taken a chill day, are you feeling better for it?

my heart burn is really bad today, I have taken the prescription tablets and loads of rennie and all I have eaten is a slice of toast and I can still feel it so currently I haven’t been able to eat my chocolate buttons ☹️😭 xx

OP posts:
SarahAndQuack · 28/05/2026 18:31

Oh, that sounds rough about the heartburn!

I think I am just hormonal and it will pass. It's one of those things.

Sara237 · 28/05/2026 22:28

@SarahAndQuack 37 weeks tomorrow how fabulous is that? I love that you're just contemplating saying last visit now, you hardcore garden woman, I am in awe!
Have you had disrupted sleep anyway or was it the heatwave? I keep waking early but feel ok in the day. I've been really emotional last couple of weeks so I feel for you with the ups and downs. I got worked up about this being last half term with just the 3 of us and wanted to mark it somehow but just feel too knackered to do much at all... we've had some nice days out and I'm back to happily sorting out stuff - did my hospital bag and baby bag this evening, have you done yours yet? Hope you get a decent sleep tonight. Xx

pastelheart · 29/05/2026 09:22

Another episode of painful contractions last night and stupid amounts of pressure that lasted about two hours and then stopped… REALLY frustrating this stop/starting now 🙄🙄 although at the time I’m like plz stop this hurts too much 😂 my partner must think I’m the girl who cried wolf lol xx

OP posts:
Nosejug · 29/05/2026 09:36

I agree with @Sara237 , you are def a hardcore gardening woman @SarahAndQuack ! Any diy I have to do close to the floor I now do lying down on the old next2me baby mattress haha. (It makes a very comfy floor pad I must say). Sorry you’ve both been feeling it emotionally. I cried and mini tantrummed the other day when I put my full weight on one knee and it happened to be on top
of a screw. Also getting a littttle bit nervous about how I’ll feel despite having felt revving up to love this whole time.maybe it’s a bit like wedding jitters heh.

ach @pastelheart i was so into your plan of ice lollies and chocolate buttons and you were robbed! And now another night of contractions. Well get yourself firmly on the couch enjoying what you can. I’ve started freezing fruit juices in lolly moulds as I really could eat 3 in a row and fruit juice lollies are £££. Send that husband out to get your hearts desire!

about to attend an nhs online breastfeeding workshop, not sure what that will entail, hopefully not boobs on the webcam!

pastelheart · 29/05/2026 10:59

@Nosejug I knowwwwww ☹️☹️☹️ I might have chocolate buttons for brunch in a minute lol. I’m very very crampy this morning but not actual contractions so today is going to be fun. Honestly my freezer looks like the stock room of an ice cream van, I have such a wide range of choice in there lol 😂

I did the in person breast feeding clinic and can confirm we didn’t have to get our boobs out for that, it would have made it more fun though 😂😂 xx

OP posts:
SarahAndQuack · 29/05/2026 11:15

@Sara237, you are so kind, that was a lovely message to read! I'm sorry you are also feeling emotional (but it's reassuring it must be such a normal thing). It really doens't feel long to go now! I have sort of half packed my hospital bag (after shaming from DD! Grin). I'm finding the disrupted sleep annoying, but promising myself after the baby's here I will be so tired it'll all change anyway! Grin

Oh, goodness, @Nosejug, I winced just at that description of kneeling on the screw! Ouch!

Thanks both of you for kind comments - but I think it's not so much being hardcore; gardening makes me really happy! I love being outdoors, and it's also exactly a year since I lost my job and I'm both proud of myself for building up a freelance profile, and reluctant to turn down work! But my clients have been lovely.

I finally bit the bullet and bought an actual, expensive thing for this baby (it's the little green sheep company moses basket, and I am absolutely being swayed by how cute it looks). It's going to arrive today. I am hoping that will all make it feel a bit more real!

@pastelheart I so feel for you! It sounds as if you are having a rough ride with these contractions and the uncertainty. Hang in there!

AmberRose26 · 29/05/2026 11:25

@Nosejug thats amazing and you will be buzzing, nearly at the end date now with everything going just as 💛 .. thee best news and well done with your decorating ., once baby is here you will be so glad you persevered and got it finished

@pastelheart oh gosh these contractions sound sore .. hope you don’t kept getting the stopping and starting , sounds just unfair for you to keep getting this .. but maybes it’s a good thing .. when it does actually happen he might just come out quick and easy and you’ll be like ‘oh that was for real that time’ and you’ll have you beautiful baby boy in your arms 🥰 your doing amazing anyways managing all this and deserve those choccy buttons 😅

@SarahAndQuack wow you really are super pregnant lady ! Still gardening strong at 37 weeks🌱🪴💪🏽 amazing fitness you must have .. am getting sore just going up the stairs now 😂😵‍💫

I am getting thee most rubbish sleeps I wake every hour and half busting for a pee ! If I get two hours in a row that’s a long sleep .. been so tired.. av got the midwife today just for a general check. 35 weeks today for me 🙏🤞🏽✨💛

pastelheart · 31/05/2026 07:56

And now… nothing again! Omg this is sooooo frustrating lol 😂 I am 39+3 now… the day I went into labour with my first son (and this whole pregnancy I thought this baby would be here before this day) 😂🙄 what an idiot!

if I go over 40 weeks I know I will loose my damn mind!

yesterday I even washed all our bedsheets (even though I only did it 2 days before) AND took a pair of PJs out my hospital bag thinking well because I have done those two things my waters will 100% break in bed tonight 😂😂😂 no such luck

I have been worrying the past week of going into labour in the middle of the night as my son was here (he’s now with his dad for a week) and the logistics as having someone here to watch him if I went into labour as my family are over an hour away. So maybe now I don’t have that worry something will
happen? Who knows, I’m going to eat some chocolate buttons and watch one born every minute xxx

OP posts:
SarahAndQuack · 31/05/2026 10:15

Fingers crossed, @pastelheart! The waiting is awful.

My DD is getting worried about what will happen when the baby is here, and I sort of hope it happens when she's with her other mum, because she is obviously nervous. She thinks she wants it to happen while she's here, obviously.

Hope everyone is staying relatively cool and getting some sleep!

pastelheart · 02/06/2026 09:22

@SarahAndQuack still no baby 🙄 and the daily calls from everyone has started… ‘how are you feeling? Fine. Any signs? No piss off’ 😂😂😂😂

have a second stretch and sweep booked for tomorrow!

it’s deffo less stress when older child is with other parent, I was so worried when my son was here, it was nice telling him though that the next time he comes it will be to meet his baby brother

i I have been binging one born every minute and on the episode last night a older brother was meeting his baby brother and it made me cry. Was so cute. I have bought them both a present from the other one too (oldest had some new aftershave as he is obsessed with perfume… like me lol) and baby has some clothes that eldest picked out

i have also planned fathers days already for my partner as I have always got him a card and present from
my son (‘for my step dad’) but this is his first Father’s Day as a daddy. I have got him and the baby matching Hugo Boss clothes (so cute lol) and have booked a meal out on Father’s Day, can’t wait for that day for him as he’s waited so long! Xx

OP posts:
Sara237 · 02/06/2026 10:38

@pastelheart I love that you've got the matching father and son clothes, so adorable. It will be really special for him and you. Everytime I see you've updated the thread, I think you'll have had him... 😂 I know what you mean about the questions though. I keep being told I won't last much longer...I want to reply that I actually have an exceptionally long cervix and that fuck off is a complete sentence...
I'm just waiting in for the health visitor AGAIN who is due here between 9-11 as I'm working at 12. She was originally due last week and claims to have knocked but we somehow missed her despite staying in ALL day. I've cleaned house top to bottom and no bloody sign of her.
Everything crossed for you! I might have to watch that episode with the older boy meeting his baby brother as that's our scenario too. 💕

Nosejug · 02/06/2026 11:30

More chocolate buttons are in order! I’m a little scared of watching one born every minute in case there are scary bits! (She says while happily making her way through ER and The Pitt simultaneously). I keep doing research on maternity bras then giving up immediately. It’s the last item I need for my hospital bag I think.

so cool you guys all have siblings waiting to meet their new family members. What an incredible moment. A video from about 15 years ago of my friends elder daughter meeting her baby sister lives in
my head, her little amazed voice saying “what’s it doing? what’s it doing mummy?” Might be the most importwnt relationship in their life! ❤️

my body is falling apart a bit 🫠 I’m full of energy and ready to move but I’m either numb or painful. One heel is both numb to touch and extremely sore to walk on. I’m treating it as a warning to my future self that I need to keep up lots of muscle tone lest I become decrepit when I’m older! It would be miserable if this was it. Still managing to slowly finish painting this room, but I’m envious of my able bodied self getting things done so quickly!

hope folks are finding fun in their days!

Nosejug · 02/06/2026 11:34

urghh @Sara237 how annoying when people don’t show up when they’re meant to. I have the same health visitor as my neighbour and she’s pre warned me of her scattiness/missing appointments/not bringing things. I learned far more about the health visitors life than she did of mine, I know what her kids do and what kind of
dogs her other clients have (she was disappointed we didn’t have one). Will just need to accept it I guess! Hope yours truly is a good one and last week was a blip. Jealous of your tidy house!!

pastelheart · 03/06/2026 10:41

@Sara237 still no baby LOL. I saw a video this morning and planning from the beginning that you will go to 42 weeks and 42 weeks is your due date and to tell everyone that… wish I saw that at the start of the pregnancy!! I have my midwife at 12 so will update after! How did it go with health visitor? Are they meant to come before baby is here? I haven’t had anyone come!

@Nosejug I bloody love programs like this!! And I love the real life ones, my partner won’t let me watch them in front of him lol
so maternity/nursing bras, I ordered some from M&S and they are okay but not comfy atm but hoping once my ribs go back to normal size they will be. I can send link to which ones I ordered but… my fave one is the Skims one I ordered, I got it in the sale as it is a bit spenny when it’s not but it’s 10/10 so soft and lovely!! It’s so frustrating when things take you longer because you can’t physically go any quicker, we have three floors in our house and I need a sit down each floor lol takes me ages to do the washing 😂
xx

OP posts:
Nosejug · 03/06/2026 11:09

@pastelheart Oh my word three floors!!!! We have a stairway that turns round with a half landing so I sometimes take a break halfway haha, but always need a sit down when I get to the top before my next task—I can’t imagine that times three!! We will be so zoomy by comparison in a few weeks!!

and yeah, I’d appreciate links! And to the skims one. I guess a night time one is good (there’s one with great reviews on John Lewis) and I could probably enjoy that daytime too…

@Nosejug I know and our bedroom is on the top floor 😵‍💫😵‍💫

here are links- I’m not going to send one of them from M&S as I wouldn’t recommend but this one is lovely and soft

and this is the skims one, it’s so comfy, not sure how it would work for big big boobs, I’m a DD but don’t tend to wear a bra so I’m not overly fussed on support!

Just had stretch and sweep… I am 3cm already eeeeeek is it finally happening?

OP posts:
Sara237 · 03/06/2026 12:57

@pastelheart Oh my goodness Pastel, this could be it;😂 I reckon it's all those stairs! Are you in hospital or back at home? So excited for you, sending a big handhold! Xx

Sara237 · 03/06/2026 12:59

Health visitor came yesterday. She was lovely. Mostly just asked how I was feeling etc. Felt a bit cheated that she didn't want a house tour or to see my new baby furniture and decor 😂 all that tidying I did too! I'm 37 weeks today!

dubkitten · 03/06/2026 15:28

pastelheart · 03/06/2026 12:48

Just had stretch and sweep… I am 3cm already eeeeeek is it finally happening?

Oh very exciting!

pastelheart · 03/06/2026 15:37

@Sara237 lol 100% all those stairs and I said to the midwife… I did some stretches this morning for ten mins maybe that helped? And she laughed lol

I had planned on staying at home as long as possible once labour started but as I’m 3cm already and 4cm is active labour I don’t think I can risk it as I want my epidural lol 😂 I’m back home! Just waiting to see what’s going to happen, have had a little bleed (from the sweep, the midwife saw it and said it’s fine) and having cramps and back ache but nothing regular yet. Just had a little nap as was feeling tired and going to see if my partner will come for a walk with me in a min in the park next to our house
glad health visitor all went okay! And lol about her not seeing all your baby things, you should have just given her a tour!! Yay for 37 weeks! How are you feeling? Xx

@dubkitten eeeeeeeek I know! I reallllllllllly hope something happens or I will wake up tomorrow and be fuming xx
