ours are actually quite low. Same as This one on eBay. But obvs a lottt cheaper! EBay/etsy are always way more expensive than local auctions for mid century stuff.

i can’t believe you’re still gardening @SarahAndQuack I knelt ~on the bed~ last night and my knee gave a strong pin point pain!! I can barely bend down to pick stuff up and I’m a week behind you!

Oh, yes, I've seen those. I just feel like they wouldn't be quite so cosy/encompassing as the wide back ones? But they are pretty. I love looking for old furniture.

I've got to admit I'm being really lazy at the moment because it's Easter holidays. I actually find kneeling down is really comfortable on my back - I like that posture when I'm weeding. I suspect it's to do with being used to it as well.

magpie234 · 03/04/2026 16:05

@CloudyIvy55 Ohhhh that is awkward! Kind of her but also a bold move… chair a big and personal thing 😬. Which one is it so I can avoid it?!

Now thinking we are going to go for the Strandmon from IKEA which is a self-assembly wingback. I like how it can then be used in another room post-babies. Can imagine myself finding the rocking annoying tbh. Just want a cosy chair with good head support really!

@pastelheart Hmm not sure on the iron as I also had bronchitis over Christmas and post-viral fatigue. So some of the feeling better prob came from that improving. But maybe about a month? If no improvements push for an iron infusion. I am def going to keep on top of this whole iron thing after birth too as it makes a huge difference to your quality of life!

I am 36 weeks today! Eeeeeeek! Still need to wash all the clothes and assembly the nursery furniture and install the car seat… and finish packing for hospital. Oh and try collecting colostrum without putting myself in labour! It all feels like a LOT. Gah.

AmberRose26 · 03/04/2026 22:51

Omg I have been in so much pain .. this pelvic girdle pain is really sore in my left side bum bone .. I tried doing some cat and cow on my yoga mat and then couldn’t get back up ! I actually was crying as it was so sore my partner had to help me stand up .. I just couldn’t move it was so sore .. it’s just my left side deep inside my bum cheek if you know what I mean .. currently just lying in bed and can’t really move 😫😔 also today my MIL said to me ‘your fairly putting on the weight’ … is it just me being over sensitive or is that a really shitty thing to say to a pregnant woman ?! I replied yeh well am 27 weeks so my bump is getting bigger , baby is growing , to which she replied .. ‘how much weight have you accumulated altogether’ .. I just said well am not really weighing myself as am pregnant so it doesn’t really matter … geez she really knows how to make a pregnant women feel good about herself huh ! Not told my partner yet she said that but I will .. she is always so passive aggressive with her comments it’s really annoying, I would never comment on her weight its just not nice !
Sorry rant over 😕

AmberRose26 · 03/04/2026 22:56

@magpie234 36 weeks .. that’s amazing!
@pastelheart sorry to hear your feeling so tired etc hopefully the iron tablets will help
@zirafica glad your scan was all ok.

AmberRose26 · 03/04/2026 22:59

Also - does anyone else get heart palpitations when they are lying in bed .. after I turn over to my other side when lying down my heart /blood always takes a wee while to settle and I can literally feel it pulsing through my body, my heart feels like it’s beating really hard .. they it settles .. until I turn to the other side after awhile to get comfy, it does it again .. just for like 20/30 seconds.. it’s such a weird feeling 😵‍💫

Sara237 · 04/04/2026 08:07

I had this chair for my son and it's so comfy I kept it in my room for reading years later! So, I'll use it with baby again for feeding, resting etc. It's all I can get comfy on ATM also when sitting as so big and achy. Not the most beautiful chair in the world but comfort is key! Defo need the padding imo. Especially on the arms when feeding.

@AmberRose26 I literally feel your pain! I am having physio (lucky to be able to get some sessions on health insurance) and she does massage in that area but she also gave me an exercise to try that has been good. Happy to attempt to pass it on! Basically you sit on the edge of your bed or sofa and put one leg up on the other (so ankle is resting on opposite knee) and gently lean forward while keeping your back straight. No need to lean far - more important to keep back straight. If done right you should feel a stretch in the bum bit you describe. Mine gets worse after lying on my left side at night. Sleeping on a doubled-over summer duvet has helped make it softer.

Those comments from your MiL are horrible… also so ridiculous they are almost not even worth thinking about tbh but easier said than done I know! Sounds like you responded well.

AmberRose26 · 04/04/2026 09:43

@magpie234 thank you I’ll try this exercise, I am going to call triage today and see what they say as I can hardly walk !! 😵‍💫.. usually after a rest at night it gets a bit better but it’s still so sore this morning .. I wonder if av twisted a ligament and pulled it ? Will see, did they ask you to go into triage at all
when you told them ? Will they want to see me I wonder ? Or just give advise on the phone ?

magpie234 · 04/04/2026 09:58

@AmberRose26 I never told them tbh but they will prob offer you physio! Hope you can get some help for it. Sounds horrible!

AmberRose26 · 04/04/2026 10:00

@magpie234 thanks ! I’ll let you know how things go x

SamVan · 04/04/2026 23:12

Hi all! I haven’t had a chance to catch up on the thread yet but just wanted to pop in to say that my precious boy was born early, a week ago, at 37 weeks. We couldn’t be happier and I still can’t believe he’s real! He was 3kg and thankfully didn’t have jaundice or need for Nicu. Also to say to those doing c sections that it wasn’t bad at all (especially for ivf warriors) and not to worry about it. ❤️ but don’t beat yourself up too much about breast feeding as it’s so so hard. sending love to everyone.

pastelheart · 04/04/2026 23:16

Also not caught up but just saw your message @SamVan

CONGRATULATIONS! I’m so pleased for you and glad everything went well. Enjoy your baby bubble with your beautiful son xx

Aw wow congratulations @SamVan ! How wonderful :D your little son ♥️

Nosejug · 05/04/2026 08:07

@AmberRose26 what you’re describing sounds sooo similar to when I get sciatica, even the exercise @magpie234 gave you is the same stretch I was given for that. But then I haven’t had pgp so maybe they’re very similar. I was also told to use a tennis ball against a wall and massage the bit that’s in deep pain. But then mine was the spasming of the piraformus pressing on the sciatic nerve. Maybe ignore if not relevant. I’m gonna start massaging my feet in the same way to try get full mobility back!

oh and the mil thing, mine is actually lovely so her negative comments are not meant as negative, but she told me I had put weight on “all over” rather than just carrying on my front. I thought I looked pretty much the same apart from a big belly so I was surprised! Two women working in a restaurant we were eating at were in disbelief I was 28 weeks saying how small I was, so someone is lying to me hahaha. Good reminder that comments on one’s body are never really welcome!

magpie234 · 05/04/2026 08:55

@SamVan Such lovely Easter news! Congratulations! Thanks for the c-section motivation too 💪🏻. I am hoping that ivf has prepped me well tbh! Much more intimidated by the hormonal crash/sleep deprivation/feeding but hopefully will be okay. Hope your feeding journey settles however it turns out and you enjoy lots of magical moments amid the harder ones!

Happy Easter lovely Mumsnet gang 💕🐣

dubkitten · 05/04/2026 10:14

Congratulations @SamVan 💙💙

SamVan · 05/04/2026 10:17

Thanks guys! We are formula feeding as it just wasn’t working out. Lots of guilt initially but having spoken to lots of friends about it I’m glad I’m happy well rested and present for him in a way that I’m not sure I could have been as I found breast feeding so distressing ❤️

@magpie234 i didn’t have a hormonal crash - maybe slightly more teary but that’s just happy tears when I look at him. I never had hormonal crashes on stims either so I don’t think it’s a given that you will do.

AmberRose26 · 05/04/2026 11:29

Happy Easter everyone🐣💐🍫 ! @Nosejug thank you for the tips, yeh av had sciatica before but it’s a different kinda feeling .. this is a bone feeling deep in there !I got a big tubagrip thing of midwife which I am wearing and it actually really helps .. it just takes the weight off the bump of the pelvis .. and doing stretches .. I’ll take this week off work to just let it rest and hopefully it will ease a bit.

@SamVan congratulations💙! Amazing news .. and however you feed him doesn't matter , as long as it best for you ! 🥰

dubkitten · 05/04/2026 14:22

Happy Easter ladies 🐣

Easter Sunday last year I spent alone with a nice dinner and a bottle of wine as my friend had gone away and I didn’t go as I was about to start my 4th IVF round. This Easter Sunday I get to spend it with the outcome of that 4th round 😁💕

Awh her wee dress 🥰 super cute ..hope you had a lovely Easter with your girl ✨💛

Sara237 · 05/04/2026 21:22

@SamVan Congratulations and so pleased all is well. Enjoy! How lovely to have a Spring baby.
@dubkitten The difference a year makes! 💕 She's so darn cute 🥰. Happy Easter!
@AmberRose26 Sorry you've been so uncomfortable and glad you're getting a bit of relief from the tube...I bought a support belt for bump and back but I feel too restricted though might need it soon if this continues. I have round ligament pain in one side too much walking is agony. Hope you have a restful week and things ease a bit.

I completely agree with posts on how tough breastfeeding can be and that you need to do what enables you to function best. I found the actual process of feeding easy, after all the drugs of ivf, I liked knowing how good it was but what I know now I wish I'd known then; mostly that it would plunge me into a mini menopause with all the associated hot flushes, anxiety and emotional upheaval. I've learned that I'm very sensitive to hormonal fluctuations. But I'll do it again, as now I know what to expect. But only till 6 months with night feeds. That's my rule and I'm sticking to it. 😂 Happy Easter, hope you've all had a good day. Amid my coughing fits tonight, (wk 4 of chest infection) Complete inability to sit comfortably, PGP and whole new problem of hemorrhoids caused by the endless coughing strain (sorry if TMI) my son looked at me earlier and said, at least your hair's extra lovely now mummy that's one good thing the baby's done... 😆. I'll take that. Xx

it’s crazy looking back and seeing how far we’ve come. Last Easter I had just got the results of my third ivf collection - no euploids again. It was devastating. This Easter I’m cuddling my little miracle. I can’t believe he is mine and he is real and it is finally my turn. I cry daily looking at him and wishing for time to go slower. Congratulations all you ivf mamas! Not long to go now!

magpie234 · 06/04/2026 09:41

Which bedside crib do you all have and do you like it? Especially those of you with babies already in it! Buying one later today hopefully

I went for a Moses basket which she is now growing out of so she is moving into her big girl cot next week

Hope everyone had a good Easter 🐣 I feel like an Easter egg 😂😭

we went on a 7km walk this morning which I loved (I mainly went for the coconut chai latte from my fave coffee shop) but the last 1km pretty sure I went into labour (joke, kind of) the braxton hicks were something else, I could hardly walk 😂😳 felt like the baby was going to fall out. Have come home and chilled on the sofa, I would have napped but baby boy had other ideas and has been poking out random body parts every 5 seconds ALL DAY. Not looking forward to work tomorrow but about 16 work days left. I can 100% do that without crying everyday… I think

@magpie234we went for the maxi cosi iora air and it’s beautiful, really big too. Can be used as a standalone crib or a co-sleeper. Can rock or not rock. Different height settings. Really breathable

how often is everyone’s babies getting hiccups? I have noticed these have ramped up the last couple of days xox
