Had 20 week scan today! All looks fine. Good news: I found out the sex. Bad news: I have a low lying placenta

gah at placenta - MW said it may well move but will be scanned again at 32 weeks to check it.

So relieved all looks fine with baby, I was feeling quite anxious this time!

I had a low lying placenta (placenta preavia) which at 21 weeks caused a massive heamorage and was rushed into hospital, but as I was only 21 weeks they prepared me for labour and said that the baby would not survive, BUT 1 week later and still pregnant they let me out but only if i had complete bedrest for the rest of my pregnancy, quite difficult when you got 2 other kids! But, this baby needed me to support it and if thats what it took, then i had to do as i was told. from then on i was admitted a further 11 times with the same thing and told this baby will not go anywhere near full term and given the relevant injections at 28 weeks to prepare the babies lungs for birth (i was so relieved when i got to this stage as in my mind the baby had a chance).I bought loads of premature clothes and they took me to have a look at the ICU in hospital. My gorgeous baby boy was born by C section at 37 weeks and a whopping 91bs! The relief was out of this world, and although it was very traumatic to say the least, what with going in and out of hospital (although i did get to know all the staff) there was a very good ending. To round it off, my advice is;- please, please take it easy. You may feel ok, but you don't know whats happening inside. Most people do NOT have my experience when told they have a low lying placenta, but I would hate for anyone to think that its not a real medical condition. DO REST, REST, REST! Call in all the help that you can, and you to will have a very happy story like me

Glad everything looked good on the scan I don't know much about the placenta thing, but it sounds like there is more than a good chance of it moving
