Other thread is full already! Ive to head out but feel free to tag others, if not I can do it when back

Just back from my GP check up - all looking good. I’ve really bad back pain the last few days and he reckons I might have pulled something. Recommended exercises and a birthing ball

We had jabs today 😭 Nora seems fine in herself but, even third time around, it breaks my heart a little when they give the nurse a massive smile before getting their injections

Awww bless her! Harrys had his letter too im dreading them.

Time really is flying!! Xx

WanderWalker · 19/02/2026 10:28

@Thegirlhasnamechanged its horrible isn’t it 😭 my little one had hers today and it broke my heart. Their little shriek when they went in 😣 how has Nora been after them? X

Thegirlhasnamechanged · 19/02/2026 10:41

@WanderWalker she’s been absolutely fine thankfully though seemed to very much not like the calpol afterwards. Coincidentally she slept 9pm - 6am (followed by another sleep until 7.30 after some milk) last night too for the first time rather than waking up around 3. I’m like a new woman!

Hopefully you had nothing planned other
than sofa cuddles and the bad part is over… for another four weeks anyway.

Sunshinemoom · 19/02/2026 10:58

We have Atlas jabs next week dreading them 😩 I have nothing planned apart from cuddles 🥰

we had 6 week check with HV today and he’s put on another 400G since Friday when he was last weighed. He’s now 11lbs 14oz 🙈 he’s proper starting to become a little tall chunk

WanderWalker · 19/02/2026 11:05

@Thegirlhasnamechanged wow! I bet you feel incredible after that sleep! 😊 I’m hoping my little one just sleeps it off too. I didn’t realise just how many they have (it’s changed since I had my other children). We have a day of sofa snuggles planned 🥰 x

WanderWalker · 19/02/2026 11:11

@Sunshinemoom it sounds like atlas is thriving 😊

My little girl has got the cutest cheeks from all the milk she’s inhaling 🤣

Sending you a big hug for his vaccines next week. I think it upsets us more than them. After the initial cry when they go in my little one went straight back to sleep meanwhile I still felt like crying! 🫣 x

Jadeypie · 19/02/2026 14:11

Glad the babies who have had their jabs are coping! Its always a worry how they will react!

@Thegirlhasnamechanged oh what a lively sleep bet you woke up thinking what time is it hahaha, I was convinced I seen 12 on the clock last night fed Harry his bottle looked at the time again and it was half 10 think im going round the bend haha.

@Sunshinemoom Aww we had our Hv today also Harry is weighing 13½ said to her no wonder my backs hurting hahaha, I panicked at first thinking is he too big but hes following his curve and suppose he did weigh 10 at birth. Atlas is thriving! How is he doing with his bottles? That recall was a nightmare. We struggled to get milk anywhere xx

dubkitten · 19/02/2026 14:56

Just back from Callie’s 6 weeks check up. Doctor is very happy with her. Up to 10lbs now

Has anyone had a six week check for themselves or do they just ask some questions at the baby’s appointment? Midwife told me to expect an appointment letter for myself and Robyn for 6 week checks but only Robyn has an appointment. I keep meaning to call the surgery to check whether I have an appointment as well but by the time I’ve waited for the morning rush to pass I forget 😅

My appointment yesterday was also a 6 weeks check check on me but all he done was ask me some questions about how I was doing but it could be different over there.

My '6 week' check isnt till 19th march! My drs is ridiculous. Hv said yesterday not to worry too much about it but I still think we should of got ours at 6 weeks not 10 xx

@WanderWalkeryeah he definitely thriving and following his line nicely. Oh I love the cheeks! For such little people, it is amazing how much they can eat 😅 I do think I’m gonna have to update him to 6oz soon.

yeah it’s definitely worse for us to see them then. How is she after her jabs?

@Jadeypiethats a lovely weight but no wonder your back is hurting. And he’s following his curve. All what matters. And yeah good thanks. Just has one breastfeed at 4an but that drop soon I think!🤔 yeah, thankfully we managed to get his milk quite easily on a recall, but I know a lot of people struggled and a few of my friends had to head over to my shops because it had really good stock.

@dubkittenshe growing lovely!!

@Confusedmermaid1 when I had my six week check on Friday, the GP checked both me and Atlas. Discussed contraception, how I felt mentally if I had the support if I had any questions and then discussed how my scar was healing if I had any pain from my C-section etc.

Confusedmermaid1 · 20/02/2026 08:50

Thanks all. That was my main concern is I’m still having some discomfort with my scar but the outside looks like it’s healing nicely. I’m guessing it’s normal but just want the reassurance..
You do feel slightly forgotten about after you’ve had the baby, compared to what felt like hundreds of appointments towards the end of pregnancy 😅 I’ll call them to double check then if it could be up to 10 weeks!

WanderWalker · 20/02/2026 19:21

@Sunshinemoom shes had a temperature since last night and slept a lot since having them. I’m hoping it passes soon!

Definitely bring it up to them and explain that you have discomfort. I’ve been quite lucky I’ve had no discomfort but the last day I’ve randomly had the odd electric shock pain through it but it’s the nerves regenerating 🙈 yeah once you seem to be discharged from midwives after baby is born. It’s like we are forgotten. 🙈

@WanderWalkeri hope passed ASAP for you 🤞🏾

Sunshinemoom · 20/02/2026 21:14

Anyone got any brand of next to me which is longer than snuzpod? I don’t think Atlas will be in this much longer the way he growing 😅 the light gets taken out once he’s asleep. It was just charging

We’ve got the Tutti Bambini CoZee and it’s huge! Maybe go have a look at one of those if any of your local baby shops have them in to see. I think it’s on offer in Argos at the min

Confusedmermaid1 · 20/02/2026 21:47

We’ve got the tutti bambini one too and it’s so big Robyn won’t sleep in it yet because she doesn’t feel cosy enough, we put the moses basket in it 😅 definitely got growing room. We got ours in the sale from Costco online but it was last year

That’s exactly what we do 😊 we put the Moses basket inside it because there is so much room she just seems lost in it!

Sunshinemoom · 21/02/2026 07:27

Thank you for the suggestions I’ll get looking today while I’m out. I can’t complain as we were given the snuzpod But he’s definitely not gonna fit in it much longer 🙈

Sunshinemoom · 01/03/2026 10:31

@Gizmo1983hope you are well. Do you find your pushchair scratches easy? I’m not sure if it’s just me 🙈

dubkitten · 01/03/2026 16:45

Went away for the night last night and had booked a travel cot in the hotel for the baby. Settled her when we got back to the room at night, went to put her in the cot and no mattress - just the thin lining covering the bars! Called reception and they said they had no mattress, brought up a duvet to try but was too soft so could still feel the bars. Ended up having to put her in her pram to sleep for the night 🙄

Are any other breastfeeding mums struggling in the evenings? I know witching hour is a thing but she is cluster feeding (fine) then she will start crying with the boob in her mouth so I wind her, check nappy, try to cuddle and bounce her to sleep but she keeps mouthing and eating my shoulder/arm/chest like she’s hungry so I put her back on the boob and in a minute or so she’s crying again 😩 try giving her to dad in case it’s the smell of milk making her mouth but she doesn’t really want it and she’s trying to eat his chest as well 😅

She’s having enough wet and dirty nappies. HVs are on strike in my area so she won’t be weighed for another week but she was gaining as expected at the last weigh.

Makes me feel like I’m not supplying enough for her in the evenings though because she’s getting frustrated when she’s nursing.. I’m going to a breastfeeding group Friday but if anyone has got any wisdom before then?

Sorry to hear you are going through this. How old is little one? As they go through a fussy stage naturally where your milk goes from watery to more fatty milk so they have to work harder to get the milk. Normally around 6-8 weeks, I remember with my first ds after this stage it settled then he started to go longer between feeds as the milk was more fatty so filled up for longer. Does that make sense?

Oh what a nightmare. Not what you need at all. Did she sleep ok in the pram? Just extra added stress you don’t need when away!!
