@Niknak8493 I'm wary of telling people too (this is my first pregnancy), my husband thinks I'd have less anxiety if I told my mum but I know she didn't have any spotting in her 3 pregnancies and no miscarriages so I feel like there's a chance she'd just end up making me freak out more 😅 She's coming to stay when I'll be 9.5 weeks so I probably will tell her then as the next chance to tell her in person will be at the end of December. There's not much to do but tick off the days.

Edited

Yeah I just had a miscarriage 14 weeks ago and yeah super anxious to tell anyone. I’m going to chat in here and just pray all goes well this time. I’m very lucky though I have two children already although they are grown now 😂

Fingers crossed for us all 🤞🏻 Do you think your oldest 2 will be game for babysitting?

Pregnantera · 20/10/2025 21:33

@RJF89 at this stage just eat what you want even if it is the same thing every day! 😂 My booking appointment is tomorrow too, I’m 7 weeks and 3 days.
Fingers crossed all the pessaries clear up the thrush and you don’t get any more spotting.

I’m more likely to trust the youngest he has a smart head on his shoulders 😂 the eldest struggles to look after herself haha

Congratulations @Niknak8493and @thereisajellyfish!

@DesertSnowsound like a bit of a rollercoaster. I hope things settle for you now.

Sorry to hear about the ladies feeling so sick. I’ve been worried that I haven’t felt sick yet! I didn’t last time either and ended up miscarrying so in my head it’s a sign of things not progressing as they should. Everything I read though says if you’re not sick just count yourself lucky!
@Niknak8493I have been so tired too. Falling asleep at 8pm every evening (no other kids so I can do that!) don’t know how anyone with children manages the tiredness! Also been very emotional the past couple of weeks.
I’m 5 weeks 4 days today so still very early. Have an early reassurance scan on the 30th.

I wish I was having a reassurance scan. I’m 4 weeks 3 days and my doctors don’t want to help me even giving me a blood test to check the levels are where they should be, the doctor literally said cross your legs and hope it sticks, good luck. I’ve had two miscarriages so as you can imagine I’m pretty anxious.
congratulations on your pregnancy, I hope we can continue to give positive updates throughout our pregnancy’s 😊

Hi all

Sorry for going quiet, similar to a lot of you, I have been hit with severe nausea and fatigue and havent been able to leave my house. I ended up in hospital on Sunday as I hadn't been able to eat and drink properly in days. I was given cyclizine and prochlorperazine which has helped. I have found the cyclizine to work better but it has made me drowsy.

I have decided to just go off sick from work as I am physically unable to work.

To make matters not worse but weirdly frustrating for me 2 girls I know are orgenant and are at 16 weeks and im so jealous? I wish I was that far and safe along. But one of the other girls have said they have been off sick for 2 months with severe sickness too. It seems to be common. It was funny as she said "when will you get pregnant so we can be pregnant buddies!" I am excited to tell her when I announce it.

I've become scared again about miscarriage as im worried about taking medication but I had no choice and keep telling myself it's safe

Esssa · 21/10/2025 11:20

I had an early scan at epu yesterday. All looks good with a baby with a heartbeat. Dated 4 days behind but I'm not surprised as it was an abdominal scan and my bladder wasn't full enough because the nurse had me do a drop of wee for her then they called me in early too 🤦🏼‍♀️. Next scan in 2 weeks time. Fingers crossed all is well and we've caught back up. Booking appointment next Wednesday after I referred myself yesterday. Couldn't believe how quickly they got that organised.

RJF89 · 21/10/2025 11:41

@sparklerr it is still early and my mum didn't have any nausea/sickness with my brothers, and it only started for her at week 8 with me so I'm earlier but maybe it's just because she was a hard core nurse lol

@Katie2908 sorry to hear how ill you've been! Hopefully things will improve soon, I keep thinking that as I'm still eating the worse is yet to come, and I just want to fast forward to week 12!

@Esssa So happy for the heartbeat 💓

Katie2908 · 21/10/2025 11:57

@Esssahappy for you! How magical.

@RJF89me too. It feels like a lifetime away just to be at 12 weeks! Enjoy feeling good whilst it hopefully lasts, I spoke to my friend and she said it got better after first trimester too x

Pregnantera · 21/10/2025 19:05

@Katie2908 oh no, I hope you feel better soon. I’m on cyclizine too and it has massively helped me so I hope it does for you too. I’m eating more and I feel a bit stronger. Although it does make me drowsy but trying to enjoy early bedtimes.

chequeredcushion · 22/10/2025 14:06

Well 6+2 today and the nausea has hit 🤢 was hoping I was getting away with it this time around as well! It’s not too bad at the moment, I’ll cope fine if it stays like this. I’m able to eat unlike my first pregnancy which I think is keeping the fatigue manageable this time round. In fact, I can’t stop eating. Need to get my booking in appointment done before I weight a ton 😂

RJF89 · 22/10/2025 14:46

@chequeredcushion I had my booking appointment yesterday and I was so glad she just asked me my weight rather than making me go on the scales 😂 I've definitely got the nausea nibbles most of the day 😅

chequeredcushion · 22/10/2025 16:56

That’s good @RJF89, hope they do the same
for me! They weighed me at the booking
appt on my last pregnancy but I was very visibly overweight that time so probs didn’t trust I’d be honest (I don’t blame them 😂)

Pregnantera · 22/10/2025 18:28

@chequeredcushion @RJF89 I had to go on the scales! The morning sickness meant I have lost nearly a stone so at least I didn’t get told off. How much blood do they have to take? Nobody warned me about that, I still feel faint a day later from that experience.

RJF89 · 22/10/2025 18:46

@Pregnantera oh wow a whole stone! I feel like I already look chubbier but I'm putting zero pressure on myself about that. I'm sure the morning sickness is still to hit so I'm just preparing for that 😅 I'm fine with blood being taken but it has left a bit of a bruise. I think the NHS Scotland booklet I got in the post said there's blood taken at most midwife appointments and urine samples to be given at all. I got a pouch with lots of leaflets and booklets in at the appointment yesterday and a urine sample pot without a lid 😂 Didn't realise until I got home so couldn't ask for one!

Pregnantera · 22/10/2025 19:10

@RJF89 I’be had sickness for over a month now and eaten so little so it was to be expected. No doubt it will all come back when baby starts growing.
The midwife promised me it would be the end of blood tests until week 28 but I have a feeling I will have more because of my thyroid. Just don’t want 5 lots in one go ever again!
I have a load of leaflets too and haven’t had the energy to read them through yet. I am on my way to check that my sample pot has a lid - that could be real awkward transporting that in.

I have a breathing tube as well, felt like I was getting breathalysed. I felt like saying no I am not drinking alcohol right now, I would be pleased if I could even drink water!

thereisajellyfish · 22/10/2025 19:45

The sickness has really hit here, I’m finding it so difficult to juggle work, the DC and early pregnancy symptoms.

I’m exhausted too! I usually take ages to fall asleep and now I’m asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.

luhby · 22/10/2025 20:13

6 weeks today, I feel so tired all the time!
Had to take a couple of hours off yesterday because I was really nauseous and nothing that I have at home feels appealing to me, I always desired the most random things, but overall my diet is still pretty healthy and I think that is helping with not feeling bloated or constipated yet.

Katie2908 · 22/10/2025 21:13

@Pregnanterait has helped if I honest im able to eat but it's just the fatigue and getting off the sofa! Glad you feel better too

i am glad we are all in this together although I wouldnt wish feeling like this on my worst enemy. I keep telling my partner im 1 and done now 🤣 to think I wanted 4 kids. I couldnt do this 4 times.

I got my first phone call for my midwife appointment Tuesday. It feels so real and scary. I dont know why officiating it is really scaring me.

RJF89 · 23/10/2025 11:23

@Pregnantera a breathing tube?! Do you have asthma or is this just something they don't do in Scotland?!

@Katie2908 I was a one and done before and even more so now but mostly because of the anxiety, I don't feel so nauseous today so the anxiety is back 🙃

RJF89 · 23/10/2025 15:18

Update, the nausea is back 😅

Niknak8493 · 23/10/2025 15:33

My anxiety is through the rough, I feel sick and tired but I keep thinking I should feel worse than I do so that’s making me anxious. I’m feeling very hazy, don’t know how else to describe it. I cant concentrate, dizzy, tired and irritable and I’ve not had that in any of my pregnancies before.
I have managed to persuade my doctors to get me a blood test tomorrow to reassure me my levels are going up like they should. I did do a pregnancy test again yesterday (tried to avoid that because if I think it looks more faint I’ll just work myself into a state lol) it was so dark so that was reassuring. Sorry to go on in here, I just have nobody to talk to about it. Feel completely alone

RJF89 · 23/10/2025 15:46

@Niknak8493 that's what we're here for! Hopefully the doctors have some answers, the dark line is good, maybe it's a vitamin deficiency of some sort. I've got a phone number on the plastic wallet I got at my booking appointment that I can call if the anxiety is getting too much, I'm just so up and down with paranoia 🙃

ManifestSunshine · 23/10/2025 15:50

7 weeks here and also feeling dreadful! I'm off work because of the nausea, vomiting and fatigue and really struggling with even basic household tasks. Threw up in my mouth doing the school run this morning.

I had my viability scan at the fertility clinic this morning and all looked well which will ease my anxiety for a day or two then I will no doubt be back to worrying. I don't think I'm going to be able to hold out 5 weeks until my 12 week scan!
