@Katie2908thank you that actually made me feel a lot better. I didn’t make it in this morning and have had to call in sick. Was up since 5 being sick and haven’t kept anything down all day. It’s been miserable.

How did you find going to the GP? I’ve never had a sick note before so I’m wondering how much info they asked you? How long is your sick note for?

Glad you’re feeling that it was the right choice to go off, you can’t practice safely feeling like this.

Pregnantera · 28/10/2025 10:24

@Pregjune I have good news! They found a heartbeat and baby is measuring at 8 weeks and 6 days. I have an unusual shaped uterus which caused the bleeding but baby was tucked away safely at the other side and not harmed in anyway. I am off back to bed and try to recover from this lack of sleep!

Niknak8493 · 28/10/2025 10:26

@Pregjunethis is AMAZING NEWS!!!! I’m so happy for you! Yessss go rest. Fantastic news

RJF89 · 28/10/2025 10:39

@Pregnantera the best news! Hopefully you get some rest and get your strength up. You're exactly a week ahead of me, I'm counting down the hours until I'm 8 weeks tomorrow, every week is a new milestone 💓

Pregjune · 28/10/2025 10:45

Great news. You are 3 days ahead of me

Katie2908 · 28/10/2025 19:04

@bluepears96absolutely fine. They just asked how long i wanted and said 2 weeks but you have to self cert for 1st week. They do put pregnancy on there though. 100 percent it was the best decision I made i wish I didn't stress about it so much x

@Pregnanterasee! Congratulations hope you have a good sleep xx

@Pregjuneto be honest i had my early scan and it just looked like a blob, so much changes day by day so try not to stress though I would be tempted to book a private scan in a week as im not sure I could wait the 2 xx

@Aquariussuncereserisso weird. My mom rang me and said I know somethings going on and asked me if me and my partner had broke up! She said i know somethings gone on last few weeks I couldnt tell her yet as she can't keep a secret xx

Pregnantera · 29/10/2025 19:23

Thank you everyone! Hope you are all doing ok too. X

RJF89 · 29/10/2025 21:15

How's everyone's symptoms going? My nausea and tiredness has eased off, Google says it's normal for the body to adjust to hormones at 8 weeks but seems like it will be temporary 😅

bluepears96 · 29/10/2025 22:47

@RJF89im not feeling well at all. Off work atm. Been to the GP today and have been prescribed Xonvea which I have heard good things about.

hope others are feeling better!

Katie2908 · 30/10/2025 08:38

Im a bit up and down, I have major anxiety about leaving house incase I am sick, because the moment I get hungry it's way worse. But im trying to go out for little walks and stuff. I think my sofa has become my safe space 😅

Pregnantera · 30/10/2025 12:54

@RJF89 i’m still quite sick unfortunately. I stopped taking the anti sickness meds with everything that happened so got to let them build up again in my system. 3 weeks to the magical 12 week point when it should disappear!

@bluepears96 medication has helped me so fingers crossed it works for you too.

@Katie2908 the anxiety is unreal. I get scared to go in a supermarket in case something sets my gag reflex off! I prefer to be under my blanket on the sofa, to the extent that I have taken a blanket to work with me today.

I'm 8 weeks 5 days. My fatigue has slightly eased too but the nausea seems to be worsening. I was prescribed cyclizine by my GP which takes the edge off, especially when I come out my morning shower which seems to be the worst time for nausea/vomiting for me. Still nauseous and secretly retching throughout the working day though.

Hopefully your nausea stays at bay. I read it peaks between week 8 to 10 but then I also feel like we get more used to managing it. Week 6 was such a shock to the system for me when the nausea rolled in

The supermarket is the worst!! My boyfriend has fortunately fully taken over all supermarket shops because I found the sights and smells of all the foods too much for my nausea 😬

RJF89 · 30/10/2025 13:31

@bluepears96 @Katie2908 @Pregnantera hopefully it eases off for you soon!

@Juno2026 I felt almost normal last night and first thing this morning but nauseous again now and just made it into the office for the afternoon for the first time in 3.5 weeks and feel like a need a lie down 😅 I am only 8+1 so I keep thinking am I going to get it really bad still. I'm away to France and Germany when I'm 11+4 so if I am I'll need to get some anti sickness meds from my GP! All by train at least so a bit easier to go to the toilet at any point.

CremeEggsForBreakfast · 30/10/2025 14:24

I'm 8+6 today. The nausea feels worse this time than my last pregnancy but nowhere near as bad as some here!

DS (2) put carbonara in his hair last night then went into full tired meltdown and crashed out before making it into the bath. Breastfeeding him with incredibly tender nipples and a head that stank of food was an unpleasant time.

Most of our meals are provided by DH's college and I can also say that mass catering and canteen dining have never been less appetising. I'm surprised more of our friends haven't guessed I'm pregnant by the fact I am having the tiniest portions and donating my desserts to DS!

RJF89 · 30/10/2025 15:10

@CremeEggsForBreakfast I can't think of anything worse than having a set menu every day right now, I just have to go with what I want and tonight that's a bagel with (cooked) salmon and Philadelphia, daydreaming about it in the office already 😂

Pregnantera · 30/10/2025 19:46

@Juno2026 My husband is exhausted from all the jobs he has had to take on! Supermarkets and the kitchen are off limits for me now. He will be praying for normal service to resume…

@CremeEggsForBreakfast I don’t know how you are coping with that. I have to change my mind everyday!!

@RJF89 have you moved away from prawns and Marie Rose sauce yet?

RJF89 · 30/10/2025 19:54

@Pregnantera Oh yes I had to bin some at the start of the week as I was repulsed by them 😂

Pregnantera · 30/10/2025 20:06

@RJF89 it’s so hard when you can’t predict at what point your taste will change!

CremeEggsForBreakfast · 30/10/2025 21:00

I dread heading in for dinner as I don't know what awaits me, even when not pregnant the food can be a bit sad and flavourless, and the competing smells of my dinner Vs that of the person next to me is a lot. But on the other hand, being told what I'm eating is sometimes helpful. I can reach the point where I'm so hungry I'm naseous and then I don't fancy anything.at all. Being handed a plate of food at least takes the edge off and I can think more clearly and go home to nibble on something more appealing!

To be clear, there are options. Today was Jerk chicken (absolutely no flavour that I could detect), spicy fish pie (DH says it had spices but no heat), or beef and mushroom curry. There are also veggie/vegan options too. So I have some control of what I eat but it's not as good as home cooked!

Niknak8493 · 30/10/2025 21:02

I’ve gone right off tea and also coffee so I feel lost not having a hot drink as this is all I would usually drink, apple juice seems to be what I love right now. Everything tastes off, so I’m struggling to eat a full meal. Was slightly sick in my mouth today so that was fun 😂 my anxiety has gone up son much the last couple of days. Thinking of booking a private scan for week 7 because honestly doctors just aren’t interested, they did a blood test and said yeah you’re pregnant so we won’t do anything else. I’d get one now but so scared they will say the worst. So waiting to get to a point there should definitely be a heartbeat. I’m lucky and work from home so I’ve spent my time working from my bed. Yesterday I pretty much slept all day.

RJF89 · 01/11/2025 08:47

@CremeEggsForBreakfast at least there's options but hopefully the food aversions wear off!

@Niknak8493 I'm glad I had my private scan at 6+3, it definitely helped with the anxiety seeing that there is a heartbeat 💓

I think I'm coming down with a cold after nearly 2 years, I miss my immune system from 2 months ago 😅🤧

Niknak8493 · 01/11/2025 08:52

@RJF89 im 6 weeks today, you’re making me want to get a scan next week, but what if there isn’t a heartbeat because I’m too early 🙈😂 I got my results back from my blood test (was tested at 4weeks 6days) and it came back as 6723 u/L I googled it and for how many weeks I was that was a very high level but it just makes me want to keep getting blood tests but my doctor says no there’s no reason to as it was a good high result 😔
