Could be food item/ old wives tale/ supplement, anything.
What do you think and fully believe helped you when trying to conceive?

Lockdown. Genuinely. 3.5 years to fall pregnant and as soon as I didn’t have to rush around from morning to night anymore (not saying working FT and homeschooling the eldest was easy) I got pregnant.

Putting your legs in the air straight after your man has come inside you to ensure maximum retention! Not sure if that is random advice or good advice but it worked for me

Pixilicious1 · 18/09/2025 18:20

I did meditation designed for conception

CharlotteRae · 18/09/2025 18:23

Having loads of sex (every day) for the whole of the 2 week window and putting my legs up afterwards!! Had been trying 2.5 years before I really put that effort in 🙈

Baby26 · 18/09/2025 18:24

Well I've always fallen straight away, apart from one (have concieved first try 3 out of 4 times). The one that took longer was the only month I was still breastfeeding, and we didn't use conception-friendly lube.
I also think me having an orgasm each time may have helped (but who knows, as we both do every time), I also track ovulation, have regular cycles, and lay down after.

Tryingmybest100 · 18/09/2025 18:27

Reflexology, stopping taking my temperature, tracking my ovulation on the sticks etc & sticking my legs in the air for 20 minutes after each time I had sex.

Inositol. It's a supplement. I got it from Holland and Barrett.

I have PCOS and ovulate less than once in a blue moon. My first baby took 3 years, a whole load of weight loss and an eventual dose of Clomid to make it happen. When I was starting to try for my second, I'd read on Mumsnet about Inositol helping fellow PCOS sufferers to ovulate, so decided to give it a go. Five months later I got my BFP. That month, I'd also been quite ill, and we literally only DTD once that entire month. But then once is all that's needed!

Espresso Martinis (and I’m not joking)

Danikm151 · 18/09/2025 19:04

Mojitos 😄

Pennyroses · 18/09/2025 19:08

I second having loads of sex! 😂 We'd been trying for a year and a half, we were considering pursuing fertility treatment when we just thought we'd go for it and do it every day for the whole fertile window and it worked! That and I'd had acupuncture the month before which I also think helped

Being happy!

Quitting coffee, sorry!

Robotic excision of stage four deep infiltrating endometriosis at the hands of a wonderful surgeon!

Darcy86 · 18/09/2025 22:30

Clearblue ovulation tests - the only 2 times I've had a smiley face on them, I've had sex immediately that day and the day after and fallen pregnant. Not necessarily "random" as obviously that's what they are designed to do, but was just amazed at how effective they were!

Icecreamandcoffee · 18/09/2025 22:30

My friend had multiple failed IUI and other fertility treatments over a series of years. They saved up for 2 last goes before she turned 40, went to a different clinic and was put under a really old dr (she reckoned he was in his 80s).

On their first consultation he asked her DH how much whole milk he drank. Then told her DH to aim to drink 1 pint of whole milk every day for a month - can be on cereal/ hot drinks and drinks. Also eat more dairy and meat every day. Her DH followed it because why not. She fell pregnant 2 months later and their DC is now 5.

Reallynotsure25 · 18/09/2025 22:32

Lots of sex oh and a few glasses of wine

Eagerlywaiting1990 · 19/09/2025 06:08

@CheshireMum1212 I followed all the old wives tales to a fine art and it became an obsession. Ultimately it was ivf that got me pregnant and im now 36 weeks into pregnancy. Don't be afraid to seek support if you need it.

newbie202020 · 19/09/2025 06:52

Lying on back with legs against the wall after sex so nothing leaks out. Worked for me!

PersephoneParlormaid · 19/09/2025 06:54

Make sure you’re on your back on fertile days, and put a pillow under your bum for 20/30 mins after

SparklyGlitterballs · 19/09/2025 07:05

We were told it was highly unlikely we'd conceive naturally as DH had a low and poor quality sperm count. We tried for ages and had an unsuccessful try at IVF. Then I tried the lying on my back for a while afterwards with hips in the air thing. I also made myself orgasm straight after, as this makes the cervix dip into the accumulated sperm in the vagina (Google Cervical Dip). I have two young adult DDs as a result of these efforts. Oh, and I'd also dieted a bit before trying to conceive, as I'd been slightly overweight.

Topbird29 · 19/09/2025 07:56

Not really had problems conceiving- my first was about 6 months from coming off the pill. However, I fo also think that going to Thorpe park, rollercoasters and gravity may have helped! All around the same time - but may just be a coincidence!!

GreenFrogYellow · 19/09/2025 07:59

Few Brazil nuts each day for both me and DH for the selenium.
Have sex every 2-3 days from the end of period, no tracking.

Orangelover · 19/09/2025 08:56

A year with nothing, used conceive plus lube and bam BFP. And we tried really hard that month. Like every day for the fertile window and a bit either side hard.

Plastictreees · 19/09/2025 08:58

Folic acid and tracking ovulation. I got pregnant in my thirties straight away, both times. My husband is pretty fit and doesn’t drink or smoke which could have been a factor too.
