How early did you go into labour NATURALLY with your FIRST baby??

Now I know that this is a guessing game but I'm just at that curious stage.

I watched a TV Programme last night whereby a woman gave birth at 30 weeks (I'm 30 weeks!)

Just wondering, assuming all ok, when did you give birth naturally??

Obviously, the longer I can keep this baby in, the better!!

Went into labour at 39+6 - but he was born on his due date.

I am eternally grateful that I didn't ever have to go overdue (DS2 born 39+1) Not much you can do about it either way though - not without medical intervention anyway.

JodieG1 · 02/06/2008 14:37

36 weeks, my waters broke.

izzybiz · 02/06/2008 14:43

38 weeks.
Had a midwife appointment on the 24th Dec, I felt really weird, like a bit spaced out and slightly out of my body, iyswim.
Midwife said, heads not even engaged, you will go past your due date!

Went into labour early hours of xmas day!
He was born on 27th Dec!

EffiePerine · 02/06/2008 15:25

5 days before due date

LullyMummaOfOne · 02/06/2008 15:33

My DS came at 39 wks, though i was going to be late so came as a complete shock! My friend on the other hand was 35 weeks and another at 36 weeks. x

ephrinedaily · 02/06/2008 15:36

35+5 I think. Knew all along I wouldn't go over but still hadn't packed stupid bag. Pack stupid bag now otherwise DH will bring you some horrible unmatchingness to wear home and bring baby an 'I love Daddy' babygro. Seriously.

Tess321 · 02/06/2008 15:43

I'm happy to hear about all these on time or slightly early babies. I thought going overdue was going to be a given

SixSpotBurnet · 02/06/2008 15:55

My waters broke exactly a week before his due date. He was born the following day so he was six days early.

Flamesparrow · 02/06/2008 15:55

43 + 6

You really don't want that. It is hell.

ChocOrange05 · 02/06/2008 15:57

I am keeping my fingers crossed for a slightly early, reasonably small (but of course healthy) baby!!! I keep telling the baby that too!

georgiemama · 02/06/2008 15:59

the size of the baby doesn't make much difference, its 10 cm you've got to get to (the diameter of a diarylea triangles box incidently) regardless.

tinkhasabunintheoven · 02/06/2008 15:59

40 wks

gladbag · 02/06/2008 15:59

38.1 - was a bit of a surprise, and a fairly quick labour.

36 weeks 2 days. Had a feeling I'd be early. All was fine (and very quick too!)

Mercy · 02/06/2008 16:06

Blimey Flamesparrow!

39+4 , dd weighed 5lb 9

Flamesparrow · 02/06/2008 16:10

Twas a joy

thelittlestbadger · 02/06/2008 16:18

38+6. Noticed big contractions at about 3am, went into hospital at 9am, DD arrived at 12.15 - all a little bit quicker than I'd been expecting and DH was not pleased to be sent away from his newborn daughter to go and set up the moses basket and iron some clothes for her!

Thomcat · 02/06/2008 16:21

I didn't. I was 10 days over my due daye so took castor oil and it was incredibly effective.
