Awaiting NIPT results

Good morning,

Just wondering if anyone got their NIPT results in less than a week? It will have been a week tomorrow and I'm just getting impatient now, even though they said 7-10 days. We paid private and I'm 14+3.

Anyone waiting for their results? We can wait together!

This is light hearted before anyone comes at me and just tells me to wait 😊

I never got a result from my NIPT! They just couldn’t get it from the bloods, so then I had a second go and it still didn’t have a result. We also paid privately. I assume I’m a bit of an outlier though!

NSx · 20/08/2025 09:07

I had mine done through the NHS and it took 8 days so did it the Wed, got the results back the following Thursday 💗

How odd?! When was this? That would drive me mad!

Don't think I can take an extra day.. I'm already checking my emails like a madman!

2 years ago. Honestly I don’t think it happens a lot but your post made me smile as I remember getting the results… and it saying that they were unable to get a result from it and being a bit baffled!

Amyb87 · 20/08/2025 14:00

Mine came through to my junk folder have you checked there?

Chocolateeggsarebetterthannormalchocolate · 20/08/2025 14:21

@overworkit would be just my luck 🤣 hopefully your redo was free?!

@Amyb87yep! Periodically checking there too. My original email from them went straight to my focused inbox, but do still keep checking!

I had mine through the NHS too and they took 6 days.

Pythagoreans · 20/08/2025 16:49

Who did you do yours through?
Mine was with Window to the Womb, and took exactly a week. I was obsessively checking my email too, but they actually called me first, and then sent the email straight away afterward. He told me on the phone that everything was low risk, and then asked if I wanted gender on the phone too, but I declined as I was waiting on my husband.
Fingers crossed you hear soon!

I had this too but I got it on the second try, so be prepared for a longer wait! It’s so excruciatingly

Alexandrine · 20/08/2025 16:58

Which type of Nipt did you have OP? I chose the Iona as its processed in the UK and I knew I wouldn’t be able to wait long (I received my results after only 3 days a few years ago but they do say up to 5 working days).

I think a lot of the other UK Nipt’s are processed abroad, which is why it says 7-10 working days for most. Hope you hear back soon!

Chocolateeggsarebetterthannormalchocolate · 20/08/2025 17:05

@Alexandrineit's Concepto if that's what you mean? Nothing today, so hopefully tomorrow, thank you!

OP posts:
Alexandrine · 20/08/2025 17:16

Ah, I haven’t heard of Concepto, but they are bringing out new Nipt brands all the time - it used to just be a choice of a few like Iona, Panorama or Harmony. Hopefully you’ll hear back tomorrow. I remember the wait seemed never ending even though mine was only a few days. 🤞for you!

Chocolateeggsarebetterthannormalchocolate · 20/08/2025 17:22

Thanks @PinkstuffsdAy 6 was today so at least 7 for me!

@Pythagoreansmine was also Window to the Womb! I've read quite a few say it was 7 days with them so everything crossed for tomorrow! I'm planning on not looking at the gender and going to see if Card Factory will do me a balloon box like they do they do for delivery so we can video my little lad opening it, but me still have the surprise!

They've been sat in my junk mailbox since half 3!! I obviously haven't checked since then!

cc99xo · 20/08/2025 17:33

Mine took 8 days (6 working days)

GingerFox2021 · 20/08/2025 18:41

I did privately in London, they took bloods on Monday and the results came on Thursday.

Chocolateeggsarebetterthannormalchocolate · 20/08/2025 19:40

They are in! They went to my junk and I obviously didn't check after 3.30pm!

@Chocolateeggsarebetterthannormalchocolatehope all is ok? Do you mind me asking which one you went for - I’m looking at Window to the Womb for mine

Chocolateeggsarebetterthannormalchocolate · 20/08/2025 20:50

I went with Window to the Womb! The Absolute was on offer for the same price as the Advance so just got it all! All says low risk so we are pleased. Just having the gender sitting there though is hardddd!

rainycoldboo · 20/08/2025 21:00

Great news @Chocolateeggsarebetterthannormalchocolate! Congrats - I can imagine - I def don’t think I’ll be able to wait. Do they send the email to both parents at the same time or just one? And did you get a phone call just before like someone else down the thread? Hope there’s an offer when we get to ten weeks - was it just on the website?

Chocolateeggsarebetterthannormalchocolate · 20/08/2025 21:03

No, I'm the only one who has it as it was only my details on the form. No phone call, which I'm glad about because I'd have been panicking!

Yes, when I went through the options on the website the Absolute was a different colour price showing it was on offer! Just paid a deposit and paid the rest when I'd had it done.

rainycoldboo · 20/08/2025 21:23

Ok thanks so much for letting me know - and sorry, last question - did you have a scan at the same time? Will they do it if you haven’t had a scan (aiming for ten weeks so I wont have had the NHS scan)

Chocolateeggsarebetterthannormalchocolate · 20/08/2025 21:26

I didnt have a scan because it was almost £100 more expensive and I couldn't justify it when already paying £300, especially when my usual scan place is quite a bit cheaper than that.

I would have thought they would do it though, as I had one elsewhere at 8 weeks.
