Hi all. Cautiously joining, long story short I’ve had 4 recurrent miscarriages before my daughter who is nearly 4 and 4 miscarriages since all missed miscarriages apart from 2 chemicals. We decided after the last miscarriages to book a cruise for next summer and I’ve gotten pregnant 😂 so if everything does go well we definitely won’t be going. Anyway I’m 3 week 6 days today. Still super early I found out at 8dpo after a negative in the morning I came home to a test with a line on, tested again and it was positive! I’m on clexane, cyclogest, aspirin and prednisolone.
here are my tests, bottom clearblue was 10dpo and top is 11dpo. I’ve had a 1-2 weeks on a digital too.

I hope everyone is doing okay x

Congratulations! Fingers crossed for you 😊

Hi everyone,

I’m interested to know how many people will be booking early scans or have already had one. I am wondering about booking one for 8 weeks just for reassurance. We have a local Window to the Womb, but the reviews are really mixed which is putting me off. The cost of a scan would be £79. The nhs also offer early scans at £130. I would much prefer to go to the nhs, but it’s quite pricey. I haven’t got a date yet for my nhs scan, but I imagine it will be at the end of October which seems so far away!

What’s everyone’s thoughts on an early scan at around 8 weeks?

Hi. I am having an early scan but mine is through the NHS because of problems with my previous pregnancies including a MC. I don't think we would pay to have one otherwise although I get 12 weeks is a long time. There is a place in St Helens called Hello Baby. We go there for gender scans but they offer early scans I think and I think it's cheaper as well then window to the womb. Xx

I haven't had an early scan before but me and DH are thinking of having one around 8 weeks. With my first we went for my first scan at 12 weeks and we found out we had twins and the other twin stopped growing around 7 weeks so this time we would like to find out early for that reason.

JJ1992 · 14/09/2025 14:12

I have booked an early scan for around 7 weeks - we did the same with our first and it helped me feel a bit more reassured that there was something growing in my uterus !
Would like to add though - it didn't stop anxiety. The following week my doubts started again - first trimester is just tough !
It was lovely to see the heartbeat so early though x

Nice to meet you. Haha might as well do all the stresses at once! Ah cute age gaps. I have 2 daughters age 7 (nearly 8) and 6 (just) 22 months between mine. Had MC in May and this one now due May which is kinda sweet if you know what I mean. 6 weeks tomorrow and got a scan on wednesday. Hormones playing havoc already! Never had symptoms this strong this early with the others and for the first time - morning sickness, except it's hits from midday and it's just nausea though would rather be sick!! Xxx

Babydust25 · 14/09/2025 19:54

Hi everyone. Also wanted to cautiously join... 4 prior miscarriages and a 2 year old. Found out at 8dpo I was pregnant which is super early for me!! I was feeling bloated and heavy in my stomach but those have suddent disappeared. Trying not to relate the two. I'm only 3w6d now. Hope to stay along with you all.

CloudyIvy55 · 14/09/2025 20:10

Looking for some reassurance...

I think I'm just over 5 weeks with an IVF conceived pregnancy. I'm taking additional estrogen and progesterone.

I've been having some cramps, nothing severe but definitely noticeable. Google tells me occasional mild cramps are normal in early pregnancy and with the medication I'm on. But I would say these are more than occasional and at times a little more than mild - more like early period cramps.

Has anyone been pregnant before and experienced the same? I have been pregnant once before which ended in a MMC so maybe I'm being a hyper sensitive also.

I have definitely been having similar period type cramps. Can be quite sore when they come on but usually don't last more than a couple hours. Could you possibly have trapped wind / dodgy belly ? xx

Could I join you all…
Due 21st May with number 4. Still feeling cautious as had some spotting the day I found out and some more the day after but all settled now and test are progressing.
This is second cycle trying after surgery for MMC in May, happy it happened again but also scared! X

Hey, due date twin! Hope your pregnancy all goes okay 💛

Tested positive on Friday, and had all the same symptoms as my first baby. Constantly feel nauseous and need to eat all the time to help stop it!

CloudyIvy55 · 14/09/2025 20:56

@JJ1992 thanks for replying! Yes it could be! I've definitely noticed I'm going to the loo a bit less than normal which can be a progesterone side effect.

@CloudyIvy55 I have had this too or did at your stage - it was my main symptom then. I am on progesterone also and it is giving me awful gas. This is because it slows down your digestion and I suspect my levels are very high! Cannot wait to hopefully stop it at 12 weeks!

CloudyIvy55 · 15/09/2025 07:41

Thanks @magpie234! I'm definitely finding the wait to my first scan, which is on the 25th, much much harder than the wait to test after the transfer. I've googled pregnancy cramps no end of times and just can't seem to accept the fact it's normal 🤦‍♀️😂

How are you getting on?

magpie234 · 15/09/2025 07:50

@CloudyIvy55 Oh yes miles harder I agree! I was so anxious for that scan. I booked it for 7.30am (first appt) to get it over with! Recommend that.

Getting on OK I think… already worried if things are OK again (am now 7+3) so prob going to get another scan next week sometime. I do feel rough though! Constant nausea and/or stomach pain and pretty zombified! Started around 6 weeks for me. Hoping to get some meds from the GP today to help me function a little better. You?

blodyn91 · 15/09/2025 11:21

Im also feeling sick all day 🥴 but not really sick, just a little 🤦🏼‍♀️ so now having lunch at 11am to help.
Also had lots of cramping last week- I ran a half marathon race last Sunday 🤦🏼‍♀️and been googling thinking I should never have ran it!! but the cramps have almost gone now.
I am super tired. Im desperate to know the sex!!! 😆😅

LunaLoo21 · 15/09/2025 14:15

Hi everyone. Got my first positive test last Thursday, if I've worked the dates out right I'll be due 24th May 2026. This is my first pregnancy so I'm feeling every single emotion, happy, excited, scared and also not quite believing its real yet. Its really early days, I think I'm only about 4 weeks so I'm really nervous about getting my hopes up. I'm thinking about booking in for a reassurance scan at about 7-8 weeks, is that a good time? I've also been getting a lot of cramps that feel a bit like period cramps, hoping it's all normal but I can't help but worry. Hope everyone else is doing well. It's been really nice to read everyone else's stories on here and know I'm not the only person going through this!

tillybud89 · 15/09/2025 14:43

Hi everyone. So trip to docs today as my nausea so bad! Got some meds so im hoping they help as cant eat at mo
Also tummy feels well off which is worrying me but scan wednesday so will feel better after that x

Congratulations! I know exactly how you’re feeling and the whole range of emotions 😂 I thought that once I had a positive test I would be happy and relieved, but it’s far from it. This is my first pregnancy and I’m at 5 weeks now. I think the different emotions have settled down now, but I’m still trying not to get too excited. I’m also thinking of booking an 8 week reassurance scan, but haven’t got round to it yet 😊

CTTat · 15/09/2025 18:52

@CloudyIvy55 cramps in my previous pregnancy’s early on were definitely more like period cramps… mine I usually feel more in the evening when I’m relaxing.
@blodyn91 im with you on the early lunch I ate half mine at 11am this morning!
@magpie234 this is great advice about scan times I am going to do mine for after the school run.
@thaisweetchill lovely to have due date twin 🙂 how are you feeling has the shock worn off yet?

CTTat · 15/09/2025 18:54

Hugs to everyone feeling nausea… little and often with the food even if you don’t feel like it.

Anyone else stuggling with forward thinking after a loss. All I keep saying is ‘if we make it to next week I’ll book in with midwife’ ‘if we make it to week 7 I’ll book a scan’. Feel like I need to be a bit more positive but it’s so hard….

Omg im so with you! Every sentence regarding baby and future ends with 'if we make it that far' every twinge or discomfort is 'oh is this it now' it's so hard to be positive xx

Willagorilla · 15/09/2025 20:16

Due mid May.. comforting to see how many others also anxious after previous losses, I have one son who was my third time lucky after two miscarriages and I am riddled with anxiety now. Also relieved to see I'm not the only one experiencing a fair bit of cramping...I don't remember this with my son, is it more common with second pregnancies? Am 5 weeks 4 days today, and not a huge amount of symptoms yet. Slight nausea on and off and sore boobs on and off, bit tired on and off and the cramps. Considering asking for an early reassurance scan but not sure I want to give in to the worry as I know at this point either way it's just a waiting game..
