Unsure if my boyfriend pulled out or not

I've recently come off the contraceptive implant as I was having issues with it. We've been using condoms when having sex, however last week we had sex without protection and my boyfriend swears he pulled out but I don't think he did. There was no mess anywhere. I'm worried as I'm currently ovulating.

This is what the morning after pill is for.

And use a condom next time! Pulling out isn’t reliable contraception, even if he does pull out there can be semen leaked before he comes.

Girlsxo · 09/07/2025 14:11

We normally do and have been but that one time i think we got a bit caught up in the moment.

What do you call people who use the withdrawal method?

Parents!!

joking aside, unless you are OK with becoming pregnant, get the MAP and use condoms in future

heroinechic · 09/07/2025 14:14

I don’t think sperm lives for longer than 5 days and even then it’s only a few stragglers.

TMI but can’t you tell when your boyfriend ejaculates in you? What goes in must come out…

Obviously if you don’t want to get pregnant you need to be using contraception.

Girlsxo · 09/07/2025 14:20

Shoild I be worried?

If you are ovulating and had unprotected sex then yes you should expect there is a chance you will get pregnant. Even if he didn't finish inside you, there is still a chance from having unprotected sex. Saying that, couples who are trying to conceive only have like a 25% chance of success so odds are you'll be okay. Take the morning after pill, but keep in mind it might not work if you are already ovulating.

Shoild I be worried?

I would be

Henbags · 09/07/2025 14:25

Is this a joke? If you really were concerned about getting pregnant you would have gone to the chemist to get a morning after pill.

Girlsxo · 09/07/2025 14:26

We had sex the day before ovulation started.

Take a wild guess.

minipie · 09/07/2025 14:27

Sperm can live several days

Go get the MAP ffs.

minipie · 09/07/2025 14:28

Oh just saw you said “last week”. Too late for the MAP then. You’ll just have to wait and see

NotEnoughRoom · 09/07/2025 14:29

Many moons ago, my husband and I were interrupted and he didn’t manage to “finish”, but I still fell pregnant - it might not happen very often; but it is definitely possible!

JustAnInchident · 09/07/2025 14:30

Bit of a daft thing to do op, why on earth didn’t you get the MAP just in case?! I guess all you can do now is wait, and get some actual, reliable contraception in place because clearly you guys aren’t committed well enough to condoms and the withdrawal ‘method’ isn’t a method at all.

Makingpeace · 09/07/2025 14:32

Not that worried then if you didn't go for the MAP straight away 🤷‍♀️

Girlsxo · 09/07/2025 14:35

I don't come on here for advice to get judged. We are all human

Hang on in your OP you said the unprotected sex was last week, and you’re ovulating now, but now you’re saying the unprotected sex was the day before ovulation? How long do you think ovulation lasts?

What do you want people to say you had unprotected sex and the for some reason that only you know didn't bother to get the morning after pill. You sound like someone who actually wants to get pregnant but pretend to everyone it was accidental

Sorry if people are judging you but the time to do something about it was after you had sex, so it's a bit late to start thinking about it now... although I think there's some MAP which can work up to 5 days later, was it more than 5 days ago?
If you really don't want to get pregnant you're going to have to use some kind of reliable contraception in the future, and hope you've got away with it this time if pregnancy would be something you don't want.

We are all human-but that’s what the MAP is for.

The coil works up to 5 days after. The MAP I think is 72 hours but it becomes less effective as time goes on. Most MAP work by delaying ovulation so won’t help OP if she’s already ovulating. Some others have some effect, but not if the egg has already been released.

Girlsxo · 09/07/2025 14:45

Im going off what my flo app says. We had unprotected sex on Thursday last week, ovulation started the day after so Friday according to my app if it's right I'm still ovulating now.

Who on earth do you think you are, don't come on here judging me. Saying I'd pretend it was an accident! How dare you, you don't know who i am and im not like that at all. I just came here to ask advice and hear peoples experiences.

@Girlsxo you only ovulate on one day. The app will be telling you your fertile window, and during that window you are mostly likely to get pregnant if you have unprotected sex. An app can't tell you the actual ovulation day, but you can usually expect it to be somewhere in the fertile window it gives you.

Girlsxo · 09/07/2025 14:52

I've screen spotted from the app. My fertile window started the day after unprotected sex and the day of ovulation is predicted tomorrow
