High risk combined screening and don’t know why

I had a call to say my risk for downs has come back high at 1/69.

The nurse couldn’t explain why. She didn’t give me a breakdown of my bloods. But my Papp-a was not low. My HCG was 1.26 and a NT of 1.8mm at 12 weeks. I’m 35 and have a normal BMI.

Ive opted for the NIPT but I don’t understand why this has come back so high? Any experiences?

Without the full blood results impossible to say, your age may be a factor.

Not sure about this... I thought anything over 3mm was classed as high - im waiting on my bloods too. The NT was 1.5mm on my scan at 13 weeks.
Hope you get some answers to your questions.

My Papp-a was 0.65 which I think is lower than average although not low enough to be a concern alone. Other bloods haven’t been fully uploaded but I believe HCG was 1.26.

My conclusion is that it’s often seriously wrong and there’s just no explanation. Often it seems to be randomly high even though there’s not one thing standing out too. This was the post I made about our experience https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/antenatal_tests_choices/5211443-13-risk-of-down-syndrome

I really hope you don’t have to wait too long for the NIPT, it was the scariest part for me and just felt completely hopeless
