We've been trying for over a year. I am afraid this might be a false positive(Tesco test) , but just wanted to know your opinions before I run to the shop for more tests.

Get more tests! I can see it!

MathsMagpie · 24/05/2025 09:05

I can see it

LikeARacoonOnMeth · 24/05/2025 09:05

Get a digital and test after a 4 hour hold but tentative congratulations.

curliegirlie · 24/05/2025 10:03

Nah, I wouldn't use a digital if standard tests are still faint. Even though the CB weeks ones claim to detect 10miu, from what I've read in posts etc, in practice they seem to need slightly more HCG. What DPO are you?

Zuz · 24/05/2025 10:27

I don't know unfortunately. I never detected ovulation (had no symptoms, no change in basal temperature, ovulation strips always negative), but if I did ovulate on day 14 than I'd be 19 DPO

Definitely get some more tests (Boots early pregnancy are good) but stay away from digis until you get a non-squinter on another test. Everything crossed for you!

Christwosheds · 24/05/2025 10:51

That looks clearly positive to me, but try a couple of different brands to confirm it.

Chelseaflag · 24/05/2025 10:51

I can see this clearly. Everything crossed for you!

Zuz · 24/05/2025 13:59

Thank you everybody. Me and my husband are beyond shocked and crying at the moment, but don't want to get my hopes up too much. Bought the Boots test though and had another faint line so I think that's pretty good ❤️ don't know if I should leave it now or try going to the doctors to take my blood if they're open today...this is crazy 😂

That all looks positive OP, congratulations! I would say get your digital positive and then take time to enjoy this moment xx

Wsandy · 26/05/2025 15:16

any update?

Friedseasalt · 26/05/2025 20:10

A test will get you a quicker answer than waiting on blood results, if you are just going to GP. Any update??

I have been in really bad pain since Saturday, waves of strong cramps, stabbing pains and blocked back (could hardly move all Saturday). Called my doctor this morning as I was concerned as I read the cramps should only be mild and not constant. The doctor did not help much, just said that it sounds like I'm possibly going to have a miscarriage and it's too soon for a blood test and should prepare myself for heavy bleeding. She said to take another test in a week and if it's still positive, she'll book me in to see the gynecologist. She also said the faint positive line might be because something tried to happen and now it's just residue amount. I'm so sad and confused. I just have to wait I suppose 😥

I’m sorry you’ve been in such bad pain and I really hope you don’t miscarry Flowers Just sending this page on signs of an ectopic pregnancy - obviously really hope it’s not but it says when to get help for specific symptoms. Your local hospital with maternity unit may also have an early pregnancy unit you can access - too early for a scan but may give useful advice/help if you do suspect ectopic.

Will cross everything for you

Boggartdreams · 28/05/2025 22:30

How are you @Zuz ?

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 28/05/2025 22:43

I'm so sorry.
You shouldn't be in such bad pain.

Your doctor is not being at all helpful.

Do go to hospital if the pain doesn't subside or if you start bleeding.

Zuz · 28/05/2025 22:51

Thank you for your advice and concern. I am hoping and praying at the moment and will try and test again on Friday. The pains are easing up, but I still get a few strong waves of sharp cramps a day. I can also feel a constant pressure in my abdomen. I'm taking folic acid and vit D and eating as healthy as possible. 🤞

Glad the pains are easing up. Good luck for test tomorrow.

This is the page on ectopic pregnancy though I’m sure you’re already aware - can see I didn’t actually include in my message before https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/ectopic-pregnancy/

nhs.uk

Ectopic pregnancy

An ectopic pregnancy is when a fertilised egg implants itself outside of the womb, usually in one of the fallopian tubes.

How are you @Zuz?
I've been thinking of you today.

cannynotsay · 30/05/2025 16:06

Oh girl your doctor is telling you some absolute bollocks, I’ve got horrific cramps, had an early scan last week and saw a heartbeat.

Zuz · 30/05/2025 23:35

To be honest, I was shocked that they didn't even want to see me and sounded very much like..why are you calling us, it's too early anyway. I have cramps again today, but this time I also had pinkish discharge and some brown spots on my pad. Haven't done another test yet, haven't had a chance to buy it, but will tomorrow. I really thought they would at least take my blood straight away or something. 😔

Zuz · 31/05/2025 21:30

Little update. I've now had some brownish looking blood, not even enough to cover a tiny pad, but this is a second day of having it. Did 2 more tests today. Another Boots one that again had a very faint line..maybe tiny tiny bit stronger than the previous ones. I also did Clear blue digital which showed Pregnant 1-2. So I will do another test on Monday and call the doctor again. I really hope I am still pregnant and it's not just a chemical pregnancy.. Fingers crossed

Hello @Zuz
Thanks for the update.

If you did ovulate on day 14, you're now about 5 weeks and 4 days pregnant.

I'm worried that your test lines aren't stronger at this point, and you'd expect the digital to be saying 3 weeks, too.

It sounds like you're thinking this is a chemical pregnancy, and you may be right.

I'm so sorry you're in this situation, especially when you've been trying to conceive for such a long time.

If this is an early miscarriage you'll soon know. I hope that this isn't the case. I've had a lot of miscarriages myself and I know how devastating they are.

curliegirlie · 31/05/2025 23:51

Everything crossed for you @Zuzbut as @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOnehas said, those tests look very faint for where you are. Please see if you can get a referral to EPU, especially with the pains you’ve been having. Flowers

Zuz · 02/06/2025 20:22

So unfortunately I got a full blown period today. Huge black clot came out as well after being in excruciating pain all day 😢 spoken to my doctor and it look like they don't need to see me. They said I should take a test every 5-7 days until it's completely negative (just to rule out ectopic pregnancy) so I'll do that and I also asked how soon we should start trying again and apparently it's best to wait about 2 months. Thank you all for your support. Unfortunately wasn't lucky this time.
