Tentatively making this bus, as I don’t think there is one yet. Got the start of my BFP yesterday, and I can see the line developing today. Going to continue to test until AF is due. So far due 2nd Feb 😬 Anyone with me?

@WildFinchi think the earliest you can do Nipt is at 9 weeks!

curliegirlie · 11/06/2025 10:58

I’m due on 31st Jan, so hedging my bets. I signed the registration form for BadgerNotes just before 4 weeks (!!) as the GP receptionist sent me the link when I phoned up to request progesterone (which, incidentally, gynae advised against, as I’ve “only” had two MCs and no bleeding in this pregnancy 😕). However, I’m still waiting to hear about a booking in appt. I’m 6+4 today, pretty sure I got a text about it last time at 6+2, so feeling antsy!

I’m also hoping I get a straight referral for a NIPT, as I’m 42 and already have a daughter with DS, which I think automatically bumps up the odds on the combined test, rendering it a bit pointless! NIPT can be taken from 10 weeks I believe, but not sure there’s a late cut off line there is with the combined test 🤷‍♀️

Morning all,
@Dreamymama@ally62442i also have a 2 Feb due date and my first scan is on 24th July. Similar journeys!

Is anyone not doing a scan before their first nhs one at 12 weeks? DH and I have agreed not to this time but now I’m questioning that decision. There’s no reason to think I’m not pregnant but it’s so hard when there’s no bump yet and I haven’t seen or heard anything either. I’ve got my first midwife appt in two weeks and I’m sure with my first I heard the heartbeat at the booking in appt but Google tells me this is not usually the case so perhaps I have misremembered. Just really feeling like I need a bit of proof!

I think it’s either 16 weeks or 24 weeks for heartbeat depending where you live! Mine was 24

Anonowl · 11/06/2025 13:44

Agree with others on the early scan... Not sure much reassurance, as just better to know earlier than be told at 12 weeks. (I've had this happen)

Eek it's my scan at 2.40pm

WildFinch · 11/06/2025 13:53

Hope your scan goes well @Anonowl
@MO22 how are you today with the spotting? Hopefully it's settled down now.

curliegirlie · 11/06/2025 14:38

Listening for heartbeat varies but doesn’t happen before 16 weeks I don’t think. With my first pregnancy my 16 week appointment seemed utterly pointless. I did a urine sample and my MW spent most of the time asking how I got into my career, as her daughter wanted to do something similar. With my second pregnancy (different area) the MW found the heartbeat though.

Hey everyone!!!

Ive been awol for a while, had a lot to read through on here! 🙈

welcome and congratulations to all who have joined!

HG has kicked in earlier for me this time. Started at 5.5 weeks as opposed to 7 weeks in previous pregnancies. I’m on cyclizine and have to get a review in 2 weeks to see how I’m getting on.
Had to tell my boss way earlier than I would have liked. 😞

To those that mentioned it, I distinctly remember getting heartbeat checked at 16 weeks with my first few pregnancies. However, at some point it changed to the 20 or 24 week appointment. My midwife told me last time that it was due to them sometimes having difficulty finding the babies heartbeat, which would make mothers panic, and they would have to send them for unnecessary scans, putting more pressure on the hospital.
Weirdly though, with my last baby, my consultant tried to find the heartbeat with a Doppler after my 12 week scan (consultant led). He couldn’t find it, which I totally expected, but I thought it was odd because that is the earliest that anyone has ever tried. Luckily I had JUST been for my scan and so I knew all was okay.

Thanks for asking ❤️ have had one tiny more bit this morning and nothing since. Just brown tinged CM really. I'm just here at work with a pad on and checking constantly. Very relaxing. But there's nothing I can do either way so just have to take it day by day and see what happens really. Hoping it's all fine 🤞🏻

Anonowl · 11/06/2025 16:49

Hey,
Think everyone's on Facebook group now but updating here anyway!

Not a great scan sadly.. empty sac measuring 9.9mm. I'm certain of my dates and I'm 5 weeks 3 days. Scan had me at 6 weeks.

In either case, a yolk should be visible by 8mm.

I had some bleeding at 4 weeks so I might have lost the embryo then, and the sac continued to grow.

I've booked a private scan for Saturday afternoon to confirm x

Parttimepaula · 11/06/2025 16:59

@Anonowl sorry you’ve been left with no real answers. Hopefully you’ll get better answers at the private scan xx

I joined a Feb group on Facebook and it’s predominantly American.

They all seem to have blood tests every 2 days to check their HCG levels. I’ve never heard of this before.

I can’t decide if I’d find that reassuring or even more anxiety provoking

I live in Sweden and we can choose to do it if we’re worried or just want to, but it’s not ”standard”. I don’t know what I would think about it being standard as it definitely would stress me out if it wasn’t my choice 😂 Very interesting how it works in different places.

I will have a blood test today actually to compare with my tuesday one just because I’m a anxious soul. I have a good feeling because I had 2-3 on CB this tuesday and yesterday I got 3+ so it feels like my HCG has done a good rise. 🤞🏼

ally62442 · 12/06/2025 11:14

Is any one else not feeling sick? Ive had a couple of bits of nausea but nothing major. A with my 3 previous pregnancies I was sick from 6 weeks onwards. It’s making me paranoid. Mad to think I actually want to feel sick so I know I’m pregnant. Im 6+2 and it’s still not hit me yet. My only consistent symptom is tiredness. Has anyone had sickness in previous pregnancies but then nothing in another?

Hey- had a scan this morning and not good news for me unfortunately so I’m bowing out the group. Sending all the good vibes to all of you xx

Hi ladies
this is going to sound like such a silly question, but it’s been driving me mad the last few days. My Flo app says I’m 6w4d and my Natural Cycles app says I’m week 5+5. It doesn’t make sense because I’ve been using both to track my bbt while we were TtC. So surely they should both have the same/similar week count but one says 6 and the other says 5.
I’m thinking of doing an early reassurance scan on Sunday - assuming I’m 7 weeks then. But really don’t want to end up going too early and just creating more anxiety for myself.
any advice or info from you ladies is much appreciated. This is my first pregnancy (I’ve had a few chemicals that didn’t get this far before), and I lost my mum 8 years ago so don’t really know who to turn to for this sort of advice..
thanks in advance! 💛

Is one going by "first" day of last period, and the other is going by the "last" day of your last period? Would that account for the discrepancy?

Tofu35 · 12/06/2025 12:55

7 weeks today, called the community midwife team and they gave me the name of my midwife and said "she'll call in a few weeks to book you in for the first appointment". I usually keep my phone on do not disturb so I guess it's needing to be on loud ringer for the next few weeks in case I miss a call!

MM013 · 12/06/2025 13:04

@Tofu35i think Flo goes from first day of last period and NC goes from conception day & adds 2 weeks or something like that.

MM013 · 12/06/2025 13:06

@Tofu35
the community midwife called me yesterday and my phone just came up with “No Caller ID”. I normally wouldn’t pick up a call from a number like that - so just an FYI incase you’re like me when it comes to answering calls.
im sure you’ll hear back - from what she’s said, a booking appointment is between 8-10 weeks so you’ll hear from her soon. I only got mine booked in just at bang on 8 weeks because I’ve got an autoimmune condition - and even then they wouldn’t see me any earlier like my GP requested 😅

That’s odd you used both for bbt! I just used natural cycles and it’s been accurate so I’d go with that if I were you

I just read that back, I mean it’s odd that it’s different, not odd that you used both 🤣🤣

MM013 · 12/06/2025 13:41

@BGxxxthey both predicted the same ovulation date so you’d think they’d both have the same weeks calculations.
when I go on the pregnancy tab on NC, it says “Week 6” which is weird because the main dashboard says 5+5. Maybe it means I’ve completed 5 weeks and I’m 5 days into the 6th week. And I’m just reading it differently. If that’s the case, then Flo & NC have only a 1 day difference because Flo says 6 weeks 4 days.
