Hello.

I bled during all my pregnancies. Bright red blood. And I can remember the fear. One pregnancy I bled pretty much all the way through, don't know why. All my pregnancies went full term - they are all teens now.

Sending a virtual hand to hold. Let your midwife team know. I had extra scans. I hope all goes well.

Have you had your ‘12 weeks’ scan yet?

HiddenInCubeOfCheese · 11/05/2025 18:26

I had a bleed at 7 weeks - bright red, filled a night time strength pad, major cramps. Doctor said baby was just looking for food so clamped on to a blood vessel. FWIW, at 10.5 weeks, I had a scan and asked if the placenta was complete yet (and thus no food shortage issues hopefully) and she said in the next week or so, it would be. And as the placenta grew, I might get some brown blood and whatnot. So, at your 13 weeks, it could likely be this too.

I had my 12 week scan Friday, was measuring at 12+6.
No SCH found so i havent a clue whats happening.
I phoned triage and theyve sent me to EPAU tomorrow at 2.30.
When we went to our 12 week on Friday, baby was fine and wriggling about, strong heartbeat and it was quiet but didnt like being wriggled as it kicked off🫣
But ive changed ny pad to a thicker longer one to try and gauge how much blood im losing. Doesnt seem to be too much, im not filling a pad in an hour. Ive had 3 previous miscarriages so absolutely terrified and so is my OH.
My previous miscarriages started with a big of brown blood then it came on full or a bit of red blood and then within hours it started, im 2 hours in and still no further pain, mainly when i go for a wee theres a bit of discomfort, a bit of lightening crotch and thats about it.

Just so confused!

Glad you are being seen by EPU tomorrow, I hope it is god news for you.

I had this at 12 weeks. Everything was fine but it did leave a SCH behind. The initial scan after the bleed was fine and I only found out about the SCH a month later because of reoccurring brown bleeding.

I had this at 13 weeks many years ago. Never got a full explanation but scan showed a likely bleed just above my cervix. I bled on and off for a few weeks after. That 13 week foetus is having her own baby later this year! Hope it goes well for you tomorrow.

I found this thread which was comforting for me, so many women experiencing bleeding and lots with happy endings. So many possibilities - hormone drops, cervical ectropion, subchorionic haematomaa, fibroids etc.

Hi all, just a quick update.
Been for my scan and they've found a small SCH, which isnt harmful they said, my partner asked the question. I just need to keep an eye on further bleeding snd hope nothing else happens.
Baby was pretty chilled during the scan, with a heartbeat still. Sonographer said babys just sleeping at the minute🤣
