where can i buy AFFORDABLE maternity wear??

I am a size 8 and having a mare getting maternity clothes that arent ridiculous prices. have been on ebay and managed to get a few pieces but i need more!

Been on all websites and there are like tshirts for £22!! I dont want to spend that on clothes i wont wear again! No one has any to pass on and stuff from ds is wrong time of year!

H&M re pretty reasonal iirc. Dorothy Perkins do mat stuff as well, and I am sure they were not too expensive.

New Look and H&M are both good and the cheapist ones I've found. I got mat. jeans for £12 in New Look.

Or try wearing your usual clothes with a belly band to cover undone trousers or tops that are now too short.

vertbaudet have some affordable stuff and Next have good value 3 packs of t-shirts - if you like all 3 colours (I never do)

I hardly paid anything for my maternity clothes this time round.

Previously I lived in three pairs of maternity dungarees for 9 months but I refused to this time round. Cue much ebay trawling and getting the hump with the quality / postage / poor description.

In the end I managed to get a whole maternity wardrobe for hardly anything. I bought items on here and put a wanted on Freecycle. Admittedly I must have got lucky as I got 4 bags of maternity wear just from one freecycler but it is worth a try for sure. I also found some items in the charity shops too, I would recommend making friends with your local charity shop volunteers - mine kept things back for me instead of putting them out on the rails .

George at Asda, I got everything I needed there and it does the job. Very cheap (I remember buying maternity jeans for 6 quid)

H&M were great for me (also size 8). And I bought Uniqlo T-shirts in size 12 or 14 which were absolutely fine and really cheap.

Dotty P online and Ebay did me. I didnt suit the Kaftan type top more's the pity, else i'd have been in Primark all the way!

this sounds mad but our local 'sports direct' had a ladies eveningy section (I was shocked too) all in the sale so I bought a few tops for £4 each in the biggest sizes and they are much admired!

Asda living 'sale' section in sizes that are far bigger than normal do me, Im usually a 14/16 bought a pair of cropped jeans with a cool yellow belt in size 22 they are so comfy and were £7, and a pair of jeans in a 16 for when I am breastfeeding and have lost the tummy somewhat - bargain at £9. Got a lovely pink vest in their normal range in size 20 - £3. You cant get cheaper, as far as I know, and less risky then ebay.

y can t you buy clothes online at H&M the nearest shop is miles away!!!!

Gap - not all branches have a maternity section, but where they do they usually have a sale rail. Also, Gap ordinary t shirts are really long, so I have just bought a few a couple of sizes too big. They're stretchy so they fir OK with room to grow without being too baggy.

I HATE maternity clothes, they're so mumsy most of the time. My best friend is a stylist and she took me down to Primark and showed me how to adapt some of the larger sizes to fit under my bump. Layering seems to be the key and it's soooo cheap. I have borrowed some maternity jeans but not invested in ANY maternity clothes..I REFUSE!!!

primark have some floaty summer dresses with smocking which goes around your boobs - and is also ideal around your belly as a skirt!

M&S sells maternity wear. I don't think they have a full range in their stores, but you could look on line. Sometimes they do free delivery or if not, make a note of the item number and order in-store for free. T-shirts for £5, cargo troos for £12. www.marksandspencer.com

Also, look out for the Next sales; again check on line as they don't usually do their full range in-store. A lot of maternity wear is half price (and that's not just the crap stuff ). www.next.co.uk

i love the whole kaftan/floaty dress thing that is going on for summer but i am only 5 '3 and an 8 so i just look extemely dumpy in stuff like that. Cant believe it is so hard just to get normal t shirts etc for summer
