Hey,
I've had a lot of losses in the past and so I understand that a "line is a line".. doesn't always work out.

Has anyone experience with the Easy at Home brand please? I had dark lines on a FRER a few days ago.

This was 5pm urine but I'm pretty sure if I'm 5 weeks pregnant that the line should be showing darker and at any time of day. Nothing to compare it with yet but whilst I sit anxiously for tomorrow... has anyone had similar looking lines? (Sometimes cheapies take a while to go dark.. I dunno..) Or maybe it's starting to get lighter and hcg dropping Xx

Line strength and progression tells you nothing about a pregnancy's viability. Tests aren't designed to be used like that. They are a yes or no answer. Frankly I think the clearblue weeks ones should be banned. This is clearly positive, so you're pregnant. There is no need to keep testing. All said having been through loss myself and understand how devastatingly hard it all is, but recurrent testing really won't help. Hope all goes well for you.

@SErunner thanks so much for replying. I do struggle with these types of answers tho.. as recorruent testing helps enormously? You can see if the line starts to fade (as with all of my losses) and so you can mentally prepare as you understand what's coming.
If you sit doing nothing, you might think you're pregnant for weeks or months - until you get to a scan and it's a missed miscarriage. Which is far more devastating than understanding it's happening via tests at 5-6 weeks and going to the GP or early pregnancy unit to have it checked out x

My tests from this same brand got about this dark and then never darkened. Now 16 weeks!

Completely disagree that fainter lines mean you can start to mentally prepare - there’s loads of reasons it may show up lighter, including time of day, dehydration, and people always mention the ‘hook effect’ although I’d take that with a pinch of salt too!

Anon1983fox · 10/01/2025 18:54

Thanks @Suth3rland , appreciate the response and that sounds hopeful. Absolutely to possible reasons for a faint line.. I meant if I continue to track every 2 days and it gets fainter and fainter x

@Anon1983fox I've also had several early losses which have been indicated by test lines getting fainter, but there can also be reasons they're fainter that aren't as clear cut. For me, I found doing some hcg blood tests at a local private clinic gave me more solid information and better info on what was actually going on. That might be an option for you? Definitively more reliable than the home tests. I hope it all works out for you x

Anon1983fox · 11/01/2025 09:21

Just updating the thread. This was today's FMU compared with yesterday afternoon. I know not much time between them and I'll test again tomorrow/ Monday morning.

Pretty sure it should look darker for 21-23 DPO? Guess just holding out a little hope that someone has a similar comparison with a positive outcome. (Until my FRER arrive) X

How many times have you seen a positive prgenancy test using these tests at this identical DPO?

Anon1983fox · 11/01/2025 09:27

@Azerothi 8 times.. 6 miscarriages, 1 live birth and this time.
Only the live birth test looked darker x

Sorry @Azerothi correction to the above.. but I've used wandfo before, not these. So that's why I'm asking for opinions

So it is a very precious prgenancy and private blood tests for HCG would defintiely help your anixiety. Please also consider your GP for support.

Ok, so you don't know what they should look like with a viable pregnancy, my above reply still stands though.

Anon1983fox · 11/01/2025 09:34

Thanks @Azerothi . Yes I've got a private scan booked for early next week x

That's great news, and I sincerely hope it goes well for you, you're understandably anxious but try your best to take it easy, it won't affect the baby if you're anxious but you matter too.

Anon1983fox · 12/01/2025 10:30

Continuing to update my thread in case it helps anyone.. still tracking, test still isn't as dark as control at over 20DPO.
Will also update with FRER comparisons when I get them and my scan results on Wednesday.

I’m so sorry for your previous losses OP and I really hope you get good news at your scan. I am in a very similar boat at (I think) 18 DPO with slow line progression, so I hope you don’t mind me following along.

Anon1983fox · 12/01/2025 20:14

Thanks , no problem and wishing you baby dust xx

Updating again - my FRERs arrived and I kept my FMU from today in the fridge. I've worked out I'm 5 weeks or 5 weeks 1 day pregnant. This test is starting to take dye from the control line. Very different outcome from the light easy at home tests. I don't know what to think at the moment.

That’s a lovely strong line OP.
I would take that over the E@H tests.

AUDHD · 12/01/2025 20:51

Your FRER looks good. Some people never get dark lines with the easy at home. Conversely this was mine at exactly 4 weeks. If you can afford I’d pay for private HCG tests 48 hours apart if you feel you need to do something to measure. Mine were £30 each

AUDHD · 12/01/2025 20:53

Sorry failed to attach the FRER to show mine was way lighter than easy at home. So not an exact science

Thanks @AUDHD wow.. the opposite! Thank you, that's really reassuring xx

Updating this thread as promised. The easy at home is finally getting darker at 5 weeks 2 days (I got my original dates wrong btw in the title)

I'll take the FRER tomorrow morning to compare with yesterdays. Really hoping this is all ok and not measuring a week behind (as people have had these strengths in the fourth week)

Awww that’s a lovely strong line now!
good luck my lovely.
I did a CB weeks indicator today and got 1-2 still and it has really thrown me off, I was expecting to be 2-3 now.
your update has really given me some hope.
the waiting is just awful isn’t it?

Anon1983fox · 13/01/2025 14:08

@Mooey89 thank you! To give you a bit more hope .. I hate those weeks tests! When I was pregnant with my son, mine never changed from 1-2 weeks. It caused me such anxiety and all was well xx

Mooey89 · 13/01/2025 14:16

Thank you so much, I really needed to hear that!
I got some FRERs from Amazon, I’m going to do one, hopefully see a blazing line and then STOP TESTING.
really hoping all stays well for you too. X

Rowen32 · 13/01/2025 14:22

OP, why don't you get bloods done? Check HCG levels and see if it's high and if it's doubling? Would br more precise than checking darkness on tests..
