me and my partner have been ttc for a year now, I’m currently four days late but scared to test yet. My cycles can vary by a few days here and there, last month I was 2 days late so don’t want to waste money on tests for it to be negative. I’m also cramping and have sore boobs which is a common pre period symptom for me and in the exact same places I would when I’m due my period (sides and hips) What were your first pregnancy symptoms? In the past I’ve taken a test and my period has shown up an hour later haha. Just want to put it off for as long as I can so I don’t put myself into further disappointment. I have also read that mild cramping can indicate pregnancy? My cramps started the day after my period should have come when usually I get them for three days before, they seem to of died down a little though which I’m feeling crappy about 😂

Missed period, awful cramping, dizziness and generally feeling knackered - liked I'd been hit by a bus. 😴

First symptoms aren’t normally immediate and are like period symptoms. The onky way to know is a test. Sorry I know not isn’t what you want to hear but day four most women don’t feel pregnant (yes I know there are exceptions).

Everyone’s different aren’t they. My mum said she started being sick 2 days after her missed period haha. I think everyone differs. I’m five days late now so going to get a test today.

Sure that’s why I said most women. Other stories here about symptoms talk about weeks in. Good luck on your test.

A lot of them have said around the time their period was due which is why I asked about first pregnancy symptoms other than a missed period 😊thanks will update the thread once tested.

For me every time my nipples went huge even before I tested I'd know 😂

Vivid dreams (nightmares) from 2dpo. Only have them in pregnancy

I was hot, it was March so noticeable and my sense of smell was off the scale. I am a coffee addict and couldn’t touch it throughout pregnancy. I remember walking through a shopping centre and having to avoid the cafes and restaurants because I couldn’t stand the smell of coffee. Also walking out of work at the end of the day and being knocked out by the smell of the local Indian takeaway, which is quarter of a mile away.

The sore boobs came later. We weren’t really trying so wasn’t expecting to be pregnant. After multiple miscarriages & fertility treatments we had given up and I was nearly 40. I had that sudden realisation that I was late so was 6 wks before I tested. No squinty lines for me.

Edited

I mentioned the sense of smell earlier - I ended up in Hong Kong about 10 weeks into my first pregnancy. OMG the smells - I have never experienced anything like it. I could only eat in Starbucks 😂 (and I usually hate people like that!). Thankfully we were only there for two nights on a stopover.

I took the test and it’s positive! I guess my pre period symptoms were pregnancy related 😂 can’t believe it

Insane exhaustion, missed period

Allswellthatendswelll · 31/12/2024 17:12

All three different! 1st one cramping loads but ended in miscarriage pretty quickly. 2nd really none until I got a positive test. 3rd one (currently 25 weeks) all the period symptoms on steroids to the point that I didn't test until a week late but especially loads of indigestion and cramping.

Would you say cramping is normal during the first few weeks? I’m having mild cramping and feel nervous about it. I’m 5 weeks 4 days

Burping. Proper decent burps!

Same! Burping loads and went off my beloved coffee.

HesDeadBenYouCanStopNow · 31/12/2024 17:59

@Pollypol I had cramping for a number of weeks after testing positive, even a bit of spotting (implantation) and have 2 6 foot DS now :)

Yes! Didn't mean to worry you. Mild cramping very common symptom of pregnancy. The chemical pregnancy I miscarried the cramping was much more severe. This pregnancy cramping was mild but freaked me out a bit but all fine. Congratulations!

  • very hot at night with crazy dreams
  • sore boobs (only the first time)
  • really tired

Nausea doesn't tend to come on until 6-7 weeks for most people I believe, certainly true for me.

I have been hot and sweaty the past few nights but get that with all my period symptoms. I’m 5 weeks 4 days and have already started feeling a little sick 🤢 only mild though at the minute

My first 2 children i was about 2/3 days late on my period and just couldn't sleep on my belly. I've always slept on my front so I knew before taking a test. This pregnancy i had no clue. We decided to try for another baby, I came off the pill, didn't have a withdrawal bleed or anything, after 4 weeks, decided to start tracking ovulation. About a week later my ovulation tests still were coming up dark so I decided to test and it came up a very very faint line, had to double check, torch on, on my phone and everything haha. I'm currently 7 weeks and weirdly enough i can finally sleep on my front (hadn't been able to since the birth of my last due to epidural, it's messed my back up). I thought i would definitely know this time before taking a test but no, I have sore boobs, very bloated and have mild nausea in the afternoon and get quite tired by about 3pm, which has only been for the last week.
