How is everyone doing? Anyone else still pregnant like me?

40+2 today

@starryx how has your induction progressed? I hope you're ok

CatCaretaker · 23/12/2024 08:44

@RedRobyn2021 yes, 39 weeks today. I want to make it past Christmas, then whatever happens can happen.

@CatCaretaker

I don't mind when she comes just hoping to avoid Christmas Day itself!

So excited to see my daughters face when she opens her presents ♥️ we're staying at home this year and I'm really looking forward to it, we usually go to my mums

LilyJessie · 23/12/2024 09:07

@RedRobyn2021
Oooooohhhhh yes I'm still pregnant.
Happy due date to me! 40 weeks today and no signs she has any ideas about arriving 🫣
How're you feeling?

@starryx
Yes, have been thinking of you! Xx

CatCaretaker · 23/12/2024 09:08

@RedRobyn2021 yes Christmas Day would be a terrible birthday to have. Christmas Eve and Stephen's Day wouldn't be great either I reckon.

Have they started talking about induction for you now that you've passed 40 weeks?

OP posts:
RedRobyn2021 · 23/12/2024 09:14

@LilyJessie

I feel fine, I'm a bit uncomfortable she's very low and I still have a cough, every time I cough it's sooo uncomfortable in my cervix, I've also been waking the last couple of nights desperate for a wee worried about wetting myself!

Other than that I could easily go another week I think

How are you feeling?

RedRobyn2021 · 23/12/2024 09:17

@CatCaretaker

Oh yes I think it's routine now to ask at 40 weeks (they didn't ask until 41 weeks when I was pregnant with DD in 2021) they changed the NICE guidelines I think, so I was asked and said no thanks basically

Not really relevant to me because I wouldn't accept an induction unless I needed one for something like preeclampsia, being late isn't a reason for me. I'll just wait till she's ready and have her at home

MaybeBaby2024 · 23/12/2024 11:46

Yes still pregnant over here too. 39+1 today, which is when I went into labour with DC1 so we shall see what the next couple of days brings.

So fed up and uncomfortable!

Probably not long for you now then, how exciting

I can wait to hold her in my arms and see her, makes me want to cry thinking about it

Are you bothered if your little one comes on Christmas Day?

MaybeBaby2024 · 23/12/2024 12:24

@RedRobyn2021 Ideally no, but I’ve already half convinced myself that the 25th will end up being the day it all kicks off!

LilyJessie · 23/12/2024 13:15

@RedRobyn2021 -

I'm okay, I had an attempted sweep today but not dilated at all...
Was uncomfortable! But not the worst.
I just need to learn to relax a bit more.

Offered induction next Monday but I've declined. I'll try another sweep come next Monday... I think we will be meeting her in January! She is super comfy!!!

Have you considered induction?

This is all I’m asking for Christmas, do not let this baby come out 😂 never thought I would be saying that during pregnancy.

I think there's a strong possibility I'll still be pregnant in January too, I guess we'll see won't we

No I'm not going to have an induction, I feel like every time I've talked to another mum it's been another nightmare birth story involving induction and I definitely don't want one. I'll be waiting as long as it takes unless a medical reason arises.

Firsttimetrier · 23/12/2024 17:08

@RedRobyn2021 I had an induction with my DS and regret it as I had to have the hormone drip.

They’re trying to push me into an induction this time around, with originally wanting me to book in for tomorrow at 38+4, and I’m declining so far.
However, I have said I will be induced at 40 weeks (due to GD) doing the dilapan rods as they are non-hormonal but not accepting the hormone drip, if it gets to that point.

I'm sorry that sounds really hard

Have you read any Dr Sara Wickham? She's written quite a bit about GD and induction

I hope your experience is better this time x

I think you recommended her before, so I did some reading which really helped to make my decision. She’s part of the reason why I’ve agreed no induction before my due date, but also alongside the advice of NICE.

DS came at 38+5, so I’m hoping I won’t reach my due date and labour kicks off from the 27th at 38+6 🤞🏽

CatCaretaker · 23/12/2024 17:32

@RedRobyn2021 yes I've heard nothing but horror stories about induction too, but if it becomes necessary, then inducation it will be. Very happy to have made it to here though, I was worried about prematurity (I know it's unlikely but I was premature so it was on my mind).

@Firsttimetrier oh I hope so 🤞 that would be great

Lunamoon23 · 24/12/2024 12:36

Just wanted to pop by and wish everyone a very merry Christmas for tomorrow 🎄🎅🏻

I hope those of you who have your babys here already enjoy your first Christmas with your newborn!!
And those of you still waiting make it through Christmas Day and welcome in the new year with your little bundles of joy!

I've thankfully felt like I've really turned a corner in the last couple of days, the pain has eased up considerably. I'm still keeping ontop of my painkillers regularly and not doing much but least I'll be able to enjoy tomorrow not feeling so rotten!

Sending you all love x

LilyJessie · 24/12/2024 12:44

@RedRobyn2021 -

I'm the same as you!
I am fed up but also I am just trying to be positive.
I don't want to be pushed into anything I'm not comfortable with!

Also great to hear you have turned a corner @Lunamoon23

I'm pleased most of you have your babies for Christmas! Keep fingers crossed we all get there by December for us 🤗🤗

MaybeBaby2024 · 24/12/2024 16:49

@Lunamoon23 merry Christmas to you too. Glad you’re starting to feel better.

I’m over here willing myself to go into labour, really don’t want to go over my due date into January 😣

LilyJessie · 25/12/2024 20:07

................

I'm still pregnant!!

A lot can happen in 3 hours, so I’m not uncrossing my legs and breathing a sign of relief until midnight 😂

Then, shop is back open and happy for baby boy to make an appearance.

MaybeBaby2024 · 25/12/2024 22:00

@LilyJessie same here 😅 thought I was getting some contractions this morning but then they stopped. Come on babies!!

Twinkletwinklelil · 25/12/2024 22:51

Merry Christmas December baby mamas!!

@Lunamoon23 glad you’re feeling better! Postpartum is hard, never mind after having major surgery. M

hope everyone’s had a magical day x
