@Firsttimetrier yes that's what he's saying too, sod's law.

I've just checked, and if he were in London now, the next flight he could get would be at 6:30am tomorrow.

I have a checkup on Thursday. We'll see where baby is, how we're both doing, and decide then I think. I feel like she's going to stay put for a good while yet, but what do I know really 😂

that would make me on edge if he couldn’t get a flight until tomorrow morning. I know everyone says first labours can take ages but a few in my previous antenatal group had very quick labours. My mum’s labour with me (first child) was 1 hour start to finish, so I’d err on the side of caution I think.

Firsttimetrier · 03/12/2024 08:53

Had a really strange night last night as I woke up feeling so, so sick and had an awful stomach ache. Thought it may have been from our dinner as we had chicken which looked slightly pink, but both my husband and toddler are okay and feel fine.

Had 3 episodes of being sick and cramping, but baby moving about a lot which didn’t help. Woken up feeling absolutely fine and no nausea etc.

I had this with my first, a week before he arrived I had a night of D&V, so wondering if the same thing is happening…

I’m only 35+3, so hoping baby can hang on at least another 10 days…

LilyJessie · 03/12/2024 10:04

@Firsttimetrier sounds like it could well be, which is exciting.
I hope you feel okay today though. Xx

OnNaturesCourse · 03/12/2024 10:15

@Firsttimetrier they do say your body has a "clear out" before birth so it could be the start of things. I know when my babies engage I suddenly go from constipation to going two or three times a day.

I had a bit of a rubbish night too. Managed to slide on the stairs, land on my bum and bumped down a few steps. Not many but enough to jar my back and bash my arm. Total panic mode started but midwife happy as baby moving etc...now I'm just hoping the bumping got baby back engaged again lol surely something has to come from my painful experience!

MaybeBaby2024 · 03/12/2024 12:22

@OnNaturesCourse oh my goodness! That would have been so scary, hope you are ok.

CatCaretaker · 03/12/2024 12:28

@OnNaturesCourse oh my god that must have been horrible. I'd be terrified too but they do say that baby is very well protected in there.

OP posts:
OnNaturesCourse · 03/12/2024 12:31

They do!

I think in my previous pregnancies I'd have been OK as baby was moving but after losing my last I panic at the most minimal things. Midwife on phone was very understanding, her reassurance let me at least get a good sleep.

HelterSkelter224 · 03/12/2024 14:15

Oh my goodness @OnNaturesCourse I'm sure you had such a fright. Pregnancy after loss is so hard 😔

But I'm glad baby is moving, that's great news. And 🤞🤞🤞 it has maybe bumped the baby into action 😂

Girls I've had the laziest day today. First proper day of mat leave with my toddler at nursery, my mum is away home after visiting for the weekend, DH away to the office. I spent the morning having a hot shower with all the conditioners masks and creams, expressing colostrum, making a playlist for birth and rewatching Gilmore girls. Can't remember the last time I had such a lazy day. Bliss!

MaybeBaby2024 · 03/12/2024 14:44

@HelterSkelter224 that sounds like a lovely day! You’re just right chilling out and pampering yourself while you can.

Lunamoon23 · 03/12/2024 15:34

@Firsttimetrier that sounds horrible, glad you woke up feeling better though. Oddly I had this a few months ago, it was after eating a cooked ham joint, strangely when I had it again a few months later, it happened again. There must have been something about it that just didn't agree with me or baby while being pregnant. The only time I've been sick whilst being pregnant. And had the same thing many of times before pregnancy and always been fine. Husband was also fine. Could it have been something in the dinner that baby just didn't like?? Or as you said... it could be the starts of something 🤞🏼🤞🏼

@OnNaturesCourse so glad you're okay, that must have given you a fright! Glad the midwife offered you reassurance though, and hopefully your back and arm heal quickly.

@HelterSkelter224 that sounds lovely! I love a day like that - self care goes such a long way!
I went and had my hair done this morning, will be the last time for a long time no doubt, nice little treat before baby is here! Then went to my mums for a cuppa tea and a chat, spent a couple hours there which was lovely, came home and cooked dinner and now just chilling watching my housewives show before DH gets home!

Feeling ever increasingly nervous about next week, cannot believe it's a week tomorrow!! Anxiety is certainly kicking in, found myself waking a couple of times last night thinking about it.

HelterSkelter224 · 03/12/2024 16:40

@Lunamoon23 understandable you're feeling anxious, it's a huge deal! But you'll soon have baby in your arms and none of it will matter ❤️❤️❤️

Exciting to see people starting to have their little ones!

Lunamoon23 · 03/12/2024 19:54

@HelterSkelter224 wishing I could just be at the point and skip past the rest of it 😂😂

@HelterSkelter224 wishing I could just be at the point and skip past the rest of it 😂😂

Tell me about it lol 😂

I am SO OVER this pregnancy and everything to do with it!!

Lunamoon23 · 03/12/2024 20:59

@HelterSkelter224 I actually think I'd do the pregnancy all over again if it meant to could skip the birth side of things and him just be here 😂
If only the 'baby's are delivered via storks' was true ey? 😂

Firsttimetrier · 03/12/2024 21:30

@Lunamoon23 it was just chicken thigh and pesto, which I’ve had separately but not together so maybe it was the combo! It was so, so strange.

I woke up feeling absolutely fine though, like nothing had happened and don’t feel like I was awake most the night and feel weirdly refreshed!?

Husband and toddler still okay and had no sickness, so ruling out food poisoning. Had a load of braxton hicks as well this morning, so who knows what is going on.

Not going to get my hopes up though, feel like they won’t arrive until Christmas!

LilyJessie · 04/12/2024 07:35

@OnNaturesCourse so pleased you and baby are okay xxx

@Lunamoon23 totally normal to be anxious, but you've got this far and grown human life. You got this!! Xx

OnNaturesCourse · 04/12/2024 10:24

In near agony today.

The front of my pelvic bone feels like it's getting split open when I walk 😭 had to stop three times on the school run.

I've had SPD before but usually it attacks my hips/back.

Was up and down all night with a constant dull ache in my low stomach/pelvis/uterus and baby delivering kick blows to my ribs. Thankfully both stopped now but I get shooting lightning pains in my pelvic bone when baby moves

Then this morning I almost didn't get to the loo quick enough as my stomach turned as soon as I woke up. 😳

I have so much Christmas stuff to get done for the kids but I'm barely getting off the sofa, even sitting on the birth ball isn't appealing to me and I'd usually live on that when I'm uncomfy.

Sorry I just needed to vent to adults ... My 3 year old is not sympathetic at all 🤣

RedRobyn2021 · 04/12/2024 10:57

@OnNaturesCourse

I feel like this. It's also soooo uncomfortable bending over, what shoes are you wearing atm? I'm in trainers but I hate putting them on

My 3yo DD is at preschool today thank god but I've still done zero batch cooking

I've washed the baby clothes but haven't put any of them away yet

HelterSkelter224 · 04/12/2024 11:07

Aah that sucks @OnNaturesCourse, sorry to hear you're in so much pain. Have you taken any painkillers? I know paracetamol is unlikely to touch the sides. Or can you take a warm bath?

I Dropped something on the floor in the supermarket this morning and several people walked past me as I struggled to manoeuvre myself to bend down pick it up before I had to call a staff member over 😡 seriously people!!! ALSO, someone parked super close to my driver car door in the nursery car park this morning. Had to stand and wait for them to come back in order to get into my car, I wasn't about to risk climbing over the seats. Wtf is wrong with people?!

Anyway all that to say I'm feeling very grumpy and impatient with it all now lol 😂

OnNaturesCourse · 04/12/2024 11:22

@RedRobyn2021 @HelterSkelter224

Im so over being pregnant today - I always am at this stage as I start feeling my energy draining out of me when I'm thinking this is the point where I am really going to need the energy soon! Like nature has this the wrong way!

I had the issue with someone being parked too close yesterday and I was trying to put my 3 year old into the carseat, buckle and tighten etc. I had to get my 7 year old to help pull the straps tight. I ended up gently pushing the other cars wing mirror in so I could open my door further too. It was raining super heavy and I didn't want to have to wait in the rain at 6pm.

Luckily I'm still doing OK with picking things up from the floor but for some reason my balance has just gone completely to pot. I nearly fell down the stairs again this morning, and tripped on a kerb as well. I'm so clumsy right now.

Can't believe people just walked past you. Well actually I can. So many people are too self absorbed nowadays especially at this time of year, and the rest of the people are too shy or scared to ask of they can help. Society is a bit weird that way now.

Plus side I am done with the school runs today. Someone is picking my eldest up and then coming to get my youngest to take them for dinner. I feel like I've been told I no longer need to a climb a mountain 😂

Lunamoon23 · 04/12/2024 11:22

@OnNaturesCourse I've been having really bad pelvic pain too! And an intense pressure feeling in my private area. Sometimes when I sit on the toilet to go wee it literally feels like it's bulging out. I'm ok when I'm sat down, but when I'm stood and walking around it's pretty horrible!! But he does feel like he's very low down now. You have my sympathies ❤️

@HelterSkelter224 I've very much learnt being pregnant for the first time that people really do not care! I've had countless people literally walk into me while in town, despite it being very obvious I'm carrying a huge bump. We did a tip run a few weeks ago too and I was carrying two big bin bags up the steps to the skip and there was a worker there and he literally just ignored me. I thought bloody hell, he could have at least just grabbed the bags off me. Instead he just stood there and went 'what's in them'. Then continued to rip them open to look and then left me to try and pick them up without the stuff going everywhere and throw them in the tip. I actually thought, I feel sorry for his wife if he has one.

OnNaturesCourse · 04/12/2024 11:25

@RedRobyn2021 i am in my arch support sketchers. Not the most fashionable and certainly look out of place with a lot of my outfits but anything else makes my legs ache the next day.

MaybeBaby2024 · 04/12/2024 11:42

@HelterSkelter224 @OnNaturesCourse ugh I’ve had this too with parking recently. Was able to get DC1 strapped in ok as his seat is on the other side of the car. But I did end up having to climb over from the passenger side to drivers seat which was some job!

Yeah my DP laughs at the state of me when I try to squat down to lift stuff, but to be fair he does lift things for me once he realises what I’m trying to do. I have to sit on a chair to load/ unload the washing machine, kills my back stooping over otherwise.

I am finding my bump gets in the way a lot now. I can’t get as close to things or don’t realise I’m brushing against stuff. Have ruined a few t-shirts leaning over surfaces I’ve used cleaning products on 🤦🏽‍♀️

HelterSkelter224 · 04/12/2024 12:47

Took my DD to see Santa the other day and made the mistake of squatting down to her level so she could speak to him. Santa had to help pull me up huffing and puffing, round ligament pain and everything 😂😂 the joys!!
