@OnNaturesCourse strangely I haven't slept under anything bigger than a blanket since I've been pregnant, my DH thinks I'm mad 😂 but I get too hot since being pregnant and have never woke up cold. And I can't see how I'd manage being under a duvet while wrestling with my pregnancy pillow! Although I can say, one thing I've said alot is how I CANNOT wait to not be pregnant, have a shower, get into fresh sheets, under the duvet without my pregnancy pillow and sleep comfortably!!

On the discharge! Yes!! I actually had this chat with my midwife at my appointment Thursday... she Almost sent me to triage because I said it can sometimes feel so wet like I've wet myself. She was concerned I may have been leaking fluid, but as it isn't everyday and only sometimes, she didn't. (Plus I have a scan Monday which I think reassured her) I think it's a ramp up of discharge and maybe sometimes a little wee. 😂 (embarassing)

@LilyJessie that sounds like a dream. I had pregnancy massage earlier on in my pregnancy and found it awful 😂 didn't find it relaxing like the ones I'd had non-pregnant. And I oddly hate having my feet touched 😂 I'd love a spa day with a sauna etc but of course, can't.

Hi everyone! My friend has recommended this forum as she joined one for her October baby 3 years ago and made a WhatsApp group with other moms due babies similar time and they still speak to this day about everything baby related! I’m due 26th December, if anyone due similar time would like to go in a WhatsApp group please let me know! X

We do have a Facebook group filled with women from this group. As opposed to a WhatsApp. I can send you the link if you'd like.

@HelterSkelter224 oh no, Google is the worst! I have no idea what's normal and what's not. Mine gets hiccups too (although at the start I must say I had no idea what it was, it was only when someone in an antenatal class happened to mention hiccups that I put 2 and 2 together).

I haven't been tracking them at all because I thought it was normal, but it is probably every day! I'm nearly 34 weeks now. I'm going to pay a lot more attention now.

Let us know when you get more info!

CatCaretaker · 17/11/2024 00:15

@HelterSkelter224 I've just done a quick Google of my own (I know!) and everything about hiccups was positive. For example: '...fetal hiccups are generally thought to be a good sign – and feeling your baby hiccup in the womb daily in late pregnancy is associated with lower risk of stillbirth.'

I'm just hoping to put your mind at ease until Monday.

Girls a bit worried about something- what are your thoughts / experiences? My baby has hiccups every single night, like clockwork about 10pm, sometimes twice a day. I had been ignoring them thinking perfectly normal but happened to google yesterday (I know) and it turns out regular hiccups after 28w (I'm 35w) are unusual and can be due to umbilical cord compression (according to Google!!) there's nothing on the nhs site to suggest that but it's on a number of different sites.

Have any of you heard that / experienced that?? In a wee bit of a panic and don't want to call triage for nothing

I had the same a couple of weeks ago (I would have been 33 weeks at the time). Would happen once a day, around the evening. Like you, I googled, which was a big mistake as people just share worst case scenarios! Mentioned it at 34 week appointment and midwife wasn’t concerned at all and everything was looking great with baby. I’m now 35 weeks and hiccups are less frequent. Do let me know if you’re told any different though! x

HelterSkelter224 · 17/11/2024 07:35

@Lunamoon23 can you send me that link please?

@CatCaretaker thank you - there's such a mixture of info out there, there are defo some sites that say the opposite but in the cold light of day after a bit of a better sleep I'm feeling better 🤦‍♀️

HelterSkelter224 · 17/11/2024 07:45

@Synergy94 I will do! It's a minefield out there!

Ladies I got told today that he in fact is on just above 10th percentile only 5lbs 3oz... worries sick :( got the consultant on Thursday. Any words of advice or experience?

starryx · 17/11/2024 18:51

I am 35 + 1

LilyJessie · 17/11/2024 23:07

@starryx
I'm so sorry I don't, but I do think it's reassuring they're waiting until Thursday and not rushing you in?
Hand hold xxx

CatCaretaker · 18/11/2024 02:28

@starryx I have no experience sorry, but I just googled it and just over 5lb is normal for a 35 week baby? Maybe someone with more experience can come along.

I'm 34 weeks now and my app says she's just 5lb now, on average.

I'm not a doctor, but you only have to ask on a parenting forum or Facebook page or other mums IRL to find out these scans are often inaccurate. In fact I would create a post on here and ask because you might find it reassuring.

There's also nothing wrong with being on the 10th percentile, someone has to be one end and someone the other. We're all different. Also think about what kind of build you and your partner are, I've met women who have a lower percentile baby but both the parents are quite small so.. it kind of makes sense? Small doesn't mean unhealthy.

I don't know what the consultant will say, but honestly it sounds like they are just being cautious. You've ticked a box so they've organised a consultation.

My trust tried to organise me a consultation because my iron is a bit low, even though both my midwives agreed it was unnecessary as my iron is not low enough for a transfusion so there isn't even much they can do.

If I were you, I would call or message my midwife, tell her you're feeling worried and what does she think will be discussed with the consultant, she will know their procedure's and hopefully you will be reassured.

Hi,
So not sure how reassuring this will be but just my experience
I was told the same thing last Tuesday at 35w4d he was 9th percentile and 5lb3. Now this alone they weren't exceptionally worried about as above posters have said it's not super small and you could just grow small babies. And there is the margin for error of about 10-15% in weight which is around half a pound I believe.
In my case the consultant said because he had been on the 75th percentile at 20 weeks and then the 42nd percentile at 28 weeks to now be on the 9th even with some margin for error its a clear drop rather than just being small so she has said he needs to come by 37 weeks and offered me induction. I have chosen C-section at 36w6d as this was my birth plan anyway and as much as it has been am overwhelming week with lots of news I feel really safe in their hands that they're balancing whether he's healthiest inside or out now, especially as he will technically be full term. They've also got me in for monitoring every other day and are doing another Doppler scan to check the blood and oxygen flow.
Try not to panic until they give you your next steps , I know it's easier said than done but honestly at this gestation even if baby comes today there's nothing to say they would be any different to in a few weeks time, just a skinnier version.

I've been waking up like that on and off for a few weeks, find it's worse if I've been too warm through the night so the big covers are off!

Has anyone had a increase in milky discharge? I'm beginning to wonder if that's all I have or if I have a leak!

I have so much discharge that I'm getting through 2 panty liners a day. I hate it!

Mine has hiccups at least 5 times a day! I don't think it's anything to worry about x

CatCaretaker · 18/11/2024 16:26

@HelterSkelter224 I had a routine GP checkup today and I asked about the hiccups, and she said that they are totally normal. She said that she had a twin pregnancy and they'd both have hiccups together. Nothing to worry about.

Had my last scan today before baby will arrive, he's still breech, footling breech. Which makes me all the more pleased I've elected for a csection. Has a meeting with the consultant and should hopefully recieve my date next week (37weeks) baby is measuring at approx 6lb 2oz estimated to be just under 8lb at birth they said (but I know to take that with a pinch of salt). Otherwise baby all well and healthy... can't say the same about me though haha. Starting to struggle now, swollen feet, back is killing, excessive discharge, tummy feels sore especially lower down, feel fat and clumsy! 6 more shifts at work and then I'm finished ! Can't come soon enough!

All becoming very real now - crazy to think In 3 and a half weeks my little boy could be here!

Also, I keep getting period like cramps in my stomach and back. Is that normal? It's comes and goes, some days nothing, some days (like today) quiet persistent. Xxx

Thank you so much @CatCaretaker ❤️ I'm seeing my midwife on Thurs and planned to ask so I appreciate it 🫶

@Lunamoon23 I keep getting these sort of cramps too - mostly at night. Feels like I'm either due on or I am constipated. (which tbf I am a little but I don't think my bowel is down there now, doesn't it move this far gone?)

Intense period cramps were the first sign of labour last time I went naturally so I feel like I'm on the look out for it

RedRobyn2021 · 19/11/2024 09:29

I've been getting these period like cramps too, I'm wondering if they're Braxton hicks

OnNaturesCourse · 19/11/2024 09:48

According to NHS online etc braxton hicks are usually felt in the front but not low down.

I feel like it's more things stretching and moving down there so maybe baby is getting lower? I could be completely wrong!

Oh yes maybe, that does make sense

CatCaretaker · 19/11/2024 13:05

Anyone who has breastfed before, maybe you can advise. I have lanolin cream and some breast pads, but am considering getting multimam compresses too. Should I, or would I be ok with just the cream and breast pads.

OP posts:
PermanentlyTired03 · 19/11/2024 17:42

@CatCaretaker I’d stick with what you’ve got already and buy extras if you need them. I breastfed exclusively with my first and didn’t need nipple cream or any compresses.
