Obvilously I didn't have a Kate Moss belly to start with this is my 3rd pregnancy in under 4 years but my belly WAS fat but flat, the flab sort of hung around the bottom, it wasn't round at all, just flabby!

My dad actully said 'tell us when you are really due, your obviously a lot further on than you are letting on!'

And Ive been asked lots if Im pregnant! You shouldn't be able to tell at 6 weeks,

also been asked lots about twins!

I was in maternity clothes by 7 weeks this time round....

soph28 · 24/04/2008 13:19

mmmm wasn't normal for me. Am now 40+wks with 3rd pg in yrs but that didn't happen to me. Obviously can't compare with what you were like before but if anything like me (size 16/18 and quite flabby tummy) then that does seem quie big!

Maybe you are having quads?

Disenchanted · 24/04/2008 13:20

Im in maternity jeans now!

sorry that should be in 4 years!

LittleMy34 · 24/04/2008 13:20

I got really round early on with number two, but then it went down again by about 12 weeks and then grew normally. think it was more to do with hormones than baby!

pooka · 24/04/2008 13:21

Crikey! You look a lot furhter on than 6 weeks. Sorry....

Is there any chance the dates are wrong?

Do twins run in your family?

Disenchanted · 24/04/2008 13:21

I am (or was about 2 weeks ago) a size 14 with a flabby tummy, def not round though!

belgo · 24/04/2008 13:22

I was also convinced I was having twins, but no, I'm just a lot bigger a lot faster (also third baby in four years!)

But it is evening out and now I'm four months I don't look huge for four months.

Disenchanted · 24/04/2008 13:22

Twins in DHs, not mine,

Im off out now but will try and find a recent photo when I get back, Im def not normally like this !

Honest!

It could also be water retention that is making you look bigger.

slim22 · 24/04/2008 13:44

you do look further along

Or do you get really bad wind????

Disenchanted · 24/04/2008 14:28

Definatly not further along, have been obsessively TTC for months so would have known if I was pregnant earlier!

Havn't got wind either.

Its quite shocking really!

misdee · 24/04/2008 14:33

it could be fluid retention as well.

i am 10/11 weeks and in maternity stuff now. all my normal clothes are too tight. its a PITA. but went to a nearly new sale and got some bargain clothes.

Disenchanted · 24/04/2008 14:45

Yes, its just really embarrassing when people ask if I am pregnant and i say yes, and they ask how far and I say '6 weeks' they just look at me like this ...

OP posts:
slim22 · 24/04/2008 15:53

Don't worry about i too much.
This time round I also looked very pregnant from 8 weeks then my bump stayed the same size for the next 3 months.

I think it's fairly common when it's not the first.

Take good care of yourself.

slim22 · 24/04/2008 15:53

And congratulations

jackamolsmum · 30/04/2008 19:04

i'm 14 weeks at the mo but I look more like 5 months already-its my 2nd pregnancy and I blame my size to ruined stomach muscles!! I also looked pregnant at 8 weeks

its pretty common to have a gap between your stomach muscles after the 1st pregnancy so everything flops forward. My midwife recommended pilates when this baby arrives to help get my stomach back to normal again.

Congratulations

Smithagain · 30/04/2008 19:07

Any chance of getting a dating scan. I had one when I was "definitely" 7 weeks, but was significantly further along. Periods had been carrying on as normal. I know that if you have been actively TTC for a while you may know more about your cycle than I did, but it might be a possibility?

jk1 · 30/04/2008 19:22

You probably just need a big fart!

No seriously I am pregnant with number 3 and am a size 8 usually but by 12 weeks was in maternity clothes - now at 6 months people look so disappointed that I am not due next week or expecting twins!

My midwaife said that its just the body working faster as it know the drill after 2 previous pregnancy's!

Kezza7779 · 30/04/2008 22:18

wow, thats some bump, congrats on your pregnancy! Im about the same size as you and 6 months pregnant but then it is my first! who cares anyway the man thing is - is your having another baby - big bump, small bump - it doesnt matter at the end of the day its a baby bump!xxxx

Kezza7779 · 30/04/2008 22:19

*man = main!!!

Minniethemoocher · 02/05/2008 12:04

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Man, that is some bump!!!

I am 13 weeks and no sign of bump at all with 2nd baby.

Guess we are all different, I didn't show until well into my 5th month with DD either.

I am "well covered" to start with though, size 14 - 16 but still have a toned tummy.

tinkwantstobearockstar · 22/05/2008 11:49
