Im here at almost 8 weeks at 8am rudely woken up by my cats and I’m trying to eat a banana yet every single time I swallow it I feel like I need to vomit effectively immediately. Do I vomit and have I vomited yet? No not at all. While I’m scared of vomiting being sick is so much better than this nausea feeling. I’m confused on why people want to go through this so much.

First trimester symptoms are awful but I don't think any great secret, I feel like everyone talks about them!

For me the sickness/nausea is constant, the food aversions and sensitivity to smell (meat smells really set me off in my last pregnancy).

Also the debilitating tiredness which is worse now than with my first (maybe because I'm 5 years older?)

Oh, and the on/off diarrhoea I've had for a good 3 weeks and counting.

I think it's even worse because the ptegnancy is still hidden from a lot of people at this stage so you have to try and hide how horrendous you're feeling!

The reflux! I’m now 34+3 and for the last 2 months I’ve had horrific reflux. No amount of omeprazole, gaviscon and rennie could stop it so I just had to not really eat. I’ve been miserable and actually lost a bit of weight on the rest of my body

Baby has moved down a bit now so I’m managing to eat slightly more - had a proper dinner for the first time on Friday but it’s been a slog! I was prepared for nausea in the 1st trimester but didn’t get it - I was not prepared for this

Let's see for me there was crippling all day sickness which lasted 31 weeks.

The random spotting.

The round ligament pain, if you stand or move too quickly.

Pelvic griddle pain

Lightening crotch

The discharge, oh my word, the discharge

The hyper sense of smell

The metallic penny taste that lasted the whole pregnancy

The extreme exhaustion

The spots and extra greasy hair

The need the pee every 3 and half minutes

The heartburn

Pregnancy farts that can peel paint off the walls

Off the charts libido

The roundness of pregnancy face and how puffy everything gets

Feeling like a beached whale for the last 6 weeks

Being out of breath walking up stairs when normally fit

Suddenly hating everything about H, from the way he smells to how he just existed near me. Or the fact that he was breathing.

As you can tell, I fucking loved pregnancy

I have to comment and say I cried reading this.

‘Pregnancy farts that could peel paint off the walls’

that had me dying!

I’ve had 3 mc’s and my last one I had such bad nausea, and the sense of smell is ridiculous, I could be cooking mince and be retching at the side of it because I couldn’t deal with the smell of raw meat.

my DP has told me my farts do that anyway outside pregnancy🤣🤣🤣

there’s a lot of comments over the pregnancy symptoms, it’s not uncommon to hear about discharge, sickness, fatigue, feeling super bloated OP. Unfortunately it’s what happens when you want the baby at the end, it’s only 9 months and now medicine has come such a long way to try and help with those symptoms.

I wish I could go through all of those symptoms that people have posted previously.

hopefully you feel better soon OP X

I don’t understand, nausea and sickness in pregnancy are incredibly well known and talked about? Maybe don’t eat bananas, seems triggering for you. I’m 34 weeks and generally felt fine since 12 weeks, I haven’t complained once as I am so grateful to be pregnant after a miscarriage last year.

Well after giving birth to my daughter on Thursday I've got a new one for this thread- Bell's Palsy!

Not exclusive to pregnancy, but it can be a risk factor.

Came to hospital with stabbing pains behind my ear and left side of my face was dropping which can be a sign of stroke so very scary. Had daughter via emergency c-section. All is well though and I will recover although it will take a bit of time.

Definitely hadn't heard of this before and very unexpected!
