Brown discharge and cramps

Hi, I'm 4 weeks pregnant (12dpo) got my first faint bfp at 9dpo ( felt implantation 8dpo) I've just started with cramps and lower back pain and brown discharge 😫

I've had 4 successful pregnancies none of which I spotted with. And one mmc that started with brown discharge.

My tests look like my hcg is rising...but slowly, previously has blazing dark tests at this stage.

I know nobody can tell me for sure but is it likely I'm about to miscarry? Any experiences good and bad welcome.

Thank you 😓

I also had insomnia, vivid dreams, headaches and nausea a few days ago but now that's all gone 😔

Obviously this could be a miscarriage and you know that but I had spotting like this with DD1 from weeks 5 - 8 and she is 22 years old now so there is a chance it's just old blood ( given it is brown).
So relax, hard I know, and if it doesn't get any worse signs are good.
When you are 7 weeks you can go to your EPU for a scan and if there's a heartbeat you have a very good chance of a successful pregnancy.
Good luck.

Its like really thick consistency when I wipe too it's strange, I was with epu with my last pregnancy from 6 weeks due to the previous miscarriage. I guess all I can do is wait but it's torture 😫

I agree it is torture but it may just stop and as long as it stays brown that's a good sign. Large increase in volume or bright red and that is a little more worrying. Tag me whenever you need a handhold and i'll respond as soon as I see it.

I understand and there may be a few others along to support you soon.

Anonaust · 18/08/2024 12:53

I got this today which means I'm 4-5 weeks which is right, so my hcg must still be up, if I test again in 1 week and it goes down then I guess that's one way to find out. Still got cramping and brown spotting today

That shows everything is fine st this point so just take it one day at a time now (and one hour/minute at a time if you need to do so).
Try to rest as much as you can, watch rubbish TV if you want and breathe slowly.

nosleepforme · 18/08/2024 16:16

had this lots. Unfortunately I did mc a few times, but once I had my almost 2yo so could go both ways. With my 2yo I did not get any cramps.
advice I always got from my dr was to make sure to drink lots of water (it can happen if not sufficiently hydrated) and to take things very easy.
cramps can be normal during early pregnancy so just make sure to drink and stay relaxed.
best wishes!

Anonaust · 18/08/2024 16:36

Yes I will try my best to take it easy and try think positive until otherwise and also keep hydrated (I don't drink enough admittedly) I will keep updated xx

Hi @Anonaust how are you doing?

Hey, so my cramps have subsided quite a bit today, I'm still spotting but that AF feeling has gone so I'm trying to be as positive as my head will allow and praying all is fine 🤞

Anonaust · 02/09/2024 20:41

So I ended up in epu this morning due to more cramps and spotting, I should be 6+2 today I know exactly when I ovulated, but only gestational sac and yolk sac seen no fetal pole. 💔
