Does anyone remember if they got pain in their pubic bone during early pregnancy? Its really weird and only starts after I’ve been laying down but it’s super uncomfortable.

KayakingBex · 13/09/2024 10:28

Just been doing a wee bit of catch-up readin.

congratulations @Ebonythoughts ! I hope the morning sickness doesn’t last too long 🤞

@msp2023 - I would chase for your appointment. Took me forever to get an appointment too. Had to fight a bit too. Sex is still uncomfortable for me but what the physio went over has been helping. I’ve got some scar tissue from my tear and I’m having to stretch it a bit / desensitise it.

Small boy is in 12-18 month clothing 🫣 and is wolfing down his solids now - mostly purées with some finger food (cucumber, salad, banana, melty puffs) our house has no kitchen right now so staying with in-laws so it’s been entertaining weaning in the midst of that 😆. First tooth is starting to come through 😮.

not crawling yet or getting up on knees ( I don’t think I need to worry yet just trying to get him plenty of tummy time ). He is sitting unsupported now but he can’t pull himself into sitting yet and I have to hover a bit as he sometimes throws himself sideways when playing. He rolls when he can be bothered 😆. I think he might end up bottom shuffling over crawling to be honest.

Cheetocat · 13/09/2024 12:50

@KayakingBex Aw I love big babies, bet cuddling him is the best! My little boy is gone into 6-9 month clothes now but loads of 3-6 things still fit him. How tall is your little one?

msp2023 · 13/09/2024 12:53

@KayakingBex thanks lovely!!
I have a telephone appt next week and then hoping they'll bring me in for an actual physical examination 🥲

My period is finally back and gosh I did not miss it at all 🙃🙃 hoping my hormones settle and sex drive kicks in again!

LO is officially crawling and so close to pulling herself up to stand 🥺 two teeth poking through so far. Wondering where time has gone!

I must admit, I can have such frustrating moments now when I try to get anything done and she just wants to follow me around / be picked up or crawls off and finds random things to put in her mouth😣

CheeseAndCrackersx · 13/09/2024 15:25

@KayakingBex my little one has no interest in being on his tummy now he can sit up. Like yours he can't lift himself to sit yet but does sit unsupported happily playing for ages now 😀

As he's never been a tummy time fan I can't see him wanting to crawl but I may be surprised

Hi all,

I’m 7 week pregnant with my second the pregnancy is completely different this time around. I have absolutely awful nausea and everything from tastes to smells seems to make me feel 🤢 apart from lemons and I can’t live on just lemons (if I could I would gladly). I’m also so much more exhausted this time around (partly due to not eating much I know) which doesn’t help with a 7 month old to take care of.

I’m not a fan of meds so any advice on how to manage morning sickness naturally? I have ginger tea and ginger biscuits but they don’t seem to make a difference.

Also did anyone else notice a big difference between their first and second pregnancies?

I feel guilty that I haven’t go energy to do much with my daughter and do things around the house. My husband has been a star but I wish I could do more.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 15/09/2024 14:21

Those who give your little ones 2 meals a day when will you introduce a third? X

OP posts:
msp2023 · 15/09/2024 15:00

@Ebonythoughts I found peppermint sweets and tea helped somewhat, though I admit my sickness wasn't thaaaat bad :(

I tried the nausea bracelets but can't say they made any difference.

@CheeseAndCrackersx I've started a small third meal to see how it goes!
We've been doing breakfast and dinner so I've started giving a small lunch (normally just yog and avocado). Seems to be going down well so will probably make this into a proper meal soon :)

Sunshineclouds11 · 15/09/2024 16:46

@Ebonythoughts Mint imperials helped me!

msp2023 · 15/09/2024 22:20

How's everyone doing with naps/sleep?
Little one is officially over her bedside crib, won't even nap in there. Currently she sleeps in the bed with me (which I'm quite enjoying!) and she naps on the sofa if I'm there or on the rug in the living room.

Just got the proper cot set up so thinking to start training her to at least have her naps in there. Just wondering what everyone else is doing / if babies are in their own rooms?

Our cot won't fit in our bedroom comfortably but I honestly don't feel ready for her to leave our bed/room yet :(

My only problem is that she only sleeps on our bed from 7.30/8pm onwards so I'm confined to our room from then!

Think I'll start with day naps and see how it goes...

CheeseAndCrackersx · 15/09/2024 23:43

@msp2023 little man has been in his own room in his cot for a few weeks now and it's going well. Better naps. And the past few nights only 2 wake ups, which I'm half putting down to his teeth finally cutting 🙂

I only did 2 days of naps in his cot only before putting him in at night cos he was really loving the more space and settling so much easier at nap time I thought I'd try bedtime

Thewildthingsarewithme · 16/09/2024 07:22

We’re co-sleeping 😩 I don’t love it and feel like I have no evening etc but he’s still feeding on demand and will just snack all night, he will not tolerate his cot at all, my first was the same, I think I’m just too soft

HopeAndStrength · 16/09/2024 10:12

@msp2023 our little man moved into his own room last week. I started by getting him used to his cot for day time naps, and then he happily accepted the transition at night time.
I don't think it has affected his sleep, but we've been struggling with early wake ups since turning 7 months.

LavenderSweetPea · 16/09/2024 11:00

@CheeseAndCrackersx @KayakingBex my boy exactly the same. I think he'll walk before he'll crawl. No interest in tummy time, can roll but doesn't. He just wants to sit up or even better stand up (being held by me in standing). He can now stand supporting himself on the coffee table for short periods. I don't see he'll ever crawl but maybe I'll be surprised.

Still just 2 meals a day here plus a few melty puffs at lunch time so he'll allow me to eat my lunch 😂

CheeseAndCrackersx · 17/09/2024 17:31

How long do you let your lo last naps of the day be? And sort of what time do you like them awake by from it so doesn't interfere too much to bedtime?

OP posts:
Cheetocat · 17/09/2024 18:27

I get my little boy to have a nap whever he's sleepy, rubbing his eyes and stuff. He naps 3 or 4 times a day and it has never affected his night sleep, even if he's only awake for an hour since the final nap. He generally wakes up around 6am and then feeds back to sleep, then stays asleep until around 9

Meeting · 17/09/2024 21:01

Same as @Cheetocat , we don't do nap times she just sleeps when she's tired. Sometimes she will even have a 30 min nap less than an hour before bed time and we haven't had any issues.

Sunshineclouds11 · 18/09/2024 08:09

DD only has two so wake windows can be pretty long, rarely she'll have a third one but I cap it to half an hour and about an hour before bed

Sunshineclouds11 · 18/09/2024 08:09

She also goes to sleep for those when she's ready don't stick to times either

Ihatewinding · 18/09/2024 08:40

anony1111 · 02/09/2024 20:59

@Ihatewinding I know it's painful when you feel like you barely shut your eyes before he's awake again. Yeah he has a dummy, when he wakes I generally give him his dummy and if that doesn't work I will bounce him, if that fails I will stand and rock and then if that fails too I will try give him some milk. He is a very needy boy and has been since birth, I used to call him my little koala 🤣
I'm hoping this awful sleep is just a phase! 🙏🏼

Yeah that's right, I never did get any physio for it unfortunately as like you say I'm at the bottom of the pile. About a month back I was really suffering with my hips and back to the point I was struggling to pick baby up and walk properly but it seems to have gotten better thankfully! I still sometimes get pain in the pubic bone too but it's getting less often now. Do you get any pain still? Fingers crossed you do get signed off 🙏🏼

Have you considered milk allergy, etc? I say that as my first was an unhappy contact napper until 6 months, couldn't be put down in the day time at all as needed holding in upright position to help with wind and reflux. 5 days after started allergy milk I could put her down and reflux was gone. This baby also has a milk allergy and he is much happier and settled than she was, except when we did a trial of cow's milk formula after he went on nursing strike, which was after I ate at a restaurant so think had food contamination. Though he's still a windy baby - partially healed tongue tie doesn't help. We had to proper work for any smiles until my first was on the right milk.

Think my back is now the main issue with carrying around a heavier baby! My pubic bone rarely gives me any problems anymore, can still get achey around hips but keeping up the exercises keeps that in check mostly. Still need to lose that 2+ stone 😳I know that will make the most difference at this point.

Ihatewinding · 18/09/2024 08:46

@Ebonythoughts belated congratulations! Hope your symptoms are starting to ease up. If you're getting pubic bone pain and not had your booking appt then I would ask for a physio referral as SPD/PGP is so shit - I had it 2 years postpartum after my first and started with twinges in pubic bone at 5/6 weeks with this baby so got referred at booking - ngl the physio was a bit bemused after trying to work out my gestation from due date haha. It's much easier to get on the books earlier rather than later though. Hope it has settled and just hormonal fluctuations maybe.

RachLeeds · 18/09/2024 08:48

We do bed time at 7pm-ish - we’re in that annoying transition period between 2-3 naps so Charlie is sometimes awake from 2pm until bedtime… 🫠🫠

We also do three meals a day (I think somebody was asking on the thread) at 7.45am, 11am and 5pm.

Is anybody else’s baby a bad teether?? We’ve got the top 4 teeth cutting and my poor boy has been frantic, with awful nappies. Everybody else seems to have a baby that isn’t bothered by their teeth.

Ihatewinding · 18/09/2024 08:59

We did split shifts so have a bed in the nursery, which used to be a guest bedroom haha. I prefer to co-sleep through teething and illness so didn't take the double bed out. My husband chose to sleep on nursery floor with our first but he's better at doing transfer back into cot once settled. Since baby dropped the night feed he has stayed in his nursery, but my husband has moved back in with me now finally, and baby has slept through the last 2 nights 8-5ish after dropping dream feed 5 nights ago so am really happy.

I use Huckleberry for timings and cap sleep at 3ish hours across 3 naps, might put down 10 mins early or so if looks tired. So currently allowing 30 mins for last nap so cap first 2 naps at 1h15ish, and he now needs about 3 hours before bed time. Was a slow process cutting the night feed then dream feed, but had felt they were affecting his day feeds and night sleep, and he's doing much better off them. Will probs all go tits up when start 2 nap transition but will see!

Ebonythoughts · 18/09/2024 10:44

Hi all, I’m worried I’ve left it late to get her into a weaning routine. We’ve only been giving our little one porridge some mornings and purees in the afternoon with yogurt late afternoon but we haven’t consistently been giving her 3 meals a day and she’s 7 months now. She’s still been having more bottle but she’s waking up 2 times at night and I think it’s because she’s hungry. My worry is she doesn’t eat much of the porridge or puree veg the only thing she really seems to enjoy is the fruit purées and the yogurts. I tried baby led weaning but the thought of her maybe choking out my anxiety into overdrive. Now I’m trying to play around with food ideas and trying to consistently get her to eat 3 meals a day and in addition to that trying to sleep train, she’s getting better and putting herself back to sleep but still wakes through the night.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 18/09/2024 11:33

@Ebonythoughts I do two meals right now lunch and tea and he has a good bit each time, main(veg) and pud (fruit) both times and he still wakes in the night for a bottle 2-3 times. I don't think him having 3 meals a day will make a difference but I am going to try soon, and I may be wrong but he's just not ready to lose that night feed yet.

It's a big drop from the 5/6 feeds a night I was going through about 2/3 months ago so he's slowly getting there 🙂
