Hi Ladies , Hope you are all well. I'm 34 and my partner is 40. We started TTC in December 2023.

In March I got my first positive test 🙌 and then lost it a few days later 20th March 💔 I was 4 weeks and 2 days.

In April I got my second positive test 🙌 on 16th April and then lost it on 26th April 💔 I was 5 weeks and 3 days

I'm on a new cycle now and I'm scared that if we get caught it will result in another chemical pregnancy 😔

My GP is going to ring me on Wednesday for a chat. I've heard that GP's won't review me until I've had 3 losses 😢 This is awful.

We feel blessed that we can conceive, we just need my body to accept rather than reject. I'm wondering if I need progesterone?

Has anybody got any success stories to share? 🌈👶

Thanks ❤️

I have had more chemical pregnancies than I can count. In fact, I did stop counting them because I stopped testing! Between 41 and 43 I had 7. I had also had 2 before DC1 and 1 before DC2. I have never had a clinical miscarriage. So ten at the very least. All of the chemicals ended by 5 weeks.

Thinking about it because I've recently discovered I'm pregnant again (weren't using contraception but assumed impossible because of age and years of sterility). I'm now 45. The line is stronger a few days after missing my period than in any of the other chemicals (where it was never a dye stealer or more than 1-2 weeks on Clearblue). I can't really imagine this pregnancy will work out because I'm so old, but I did start doing one thing differently which was taking high dose B12 supplements. I had no idea that I had low B12 until recently and never heard until today of any connection to chemical pregnancies.

But it might be worth checking out? In retrospect I was also taking vitamins before my my second pregnancy that included quite a high dose of B12.

@T2024 do you mind telling me what your thyroid levels were which resulted in the private dr prescribing thyroxine? Also did you have thyroid antibodies? Thank you

T2024 · 23/11/2024 08:30

@nodnol They were around 7ish before my miscarriages, early pregnancy seemed to put too much pressure on my thyroid. The private gynecologist seen I had previously miscarriages and thyroid was going out of the recommended tsh levels and prescribed 25mg when ttc and pregnancy. My antibodies weren't out of range but at the higher end of normal which indicated a thyroid disorder.

Once you're pregnant, you'll be referred to a maternity endocrinologist to monitor your levels which is reassuring.

How are you getting on? x

Hi, was hoping for some advice or similar experiences. I had what I believe to be 2 chemical pregnancies. One was at 5 weeks in August and one at 5 weeks just recently in November.
I have had bloods taken and all looks fine, I have started an iron supplement containing all the right vitamins and folic acid and also ensuring I eat well. My folate levels in my blood are a good level so from what I have read I believe that means my progesterone is not low?

I’ve been advised to take aspirin when I get a positive test but other advise says to take before then.

My question is has anyone had 2 chemical pregnancies and then gone on to have a successful pregnancy? And has anyone taken aspirin and if so when?

I did have severe pre eclampsia with my first son 4 years ago and he was born at 32 weeks.

Thank you!

@Rjw1993 sorry for your losses ❤️

I have had a mc at 9 weeks and a chemical at 5 weeks. After this I took aspirin from ovulation, resulted in my son being conceived the following month. That was 3 years ago.

we started trying again in March this year and I started taking aspirin from ovulation - got pregnant straight away and I am due next week.

i 100% believe that 150mg aspirin a day should be the first port of call for women struggling as it seems to do the trick in many cases. It’s easy and cheap to incorporate and seems to work!

I have taken it throughout pregnancy again and will stop at some point next week before baby is born.

make sure you are taking folate (I take the natural form methylfolate as it’s easier for the body to absorb) and vitamin D every day.

Rjw1993 · 18/12/2024 17:11

Thank you so much for your response! So glad it’s worked for you. My doctors advised to take 150mg from a positive pregnancy test so we shall see! Fingers crossed. congratulations to you hope all goes well xx

Congratulations! You give me hope. I'm currently going through my second CP in a row. I'm waiting to hear back from my obgyn on the next step, but I really really hope I can be third time lucky like you. Thank you for your updates. It really shed some light on my gloomy day.
