No morning sickness?

has anyone else not really had morning sickness at all?

I was very sick with my first pregnancy (up to about 18 weeks!)

last pregnancy (ended in m/c) I had no sickness.

I'm now pregnant again, but apart from bout of wretching on the day my period was late (which led me to do the test and get the BFP!) I don't feel sick at all, just tired. Winding myself up badly about lack of sickness being a bad sign :-(

I didn't have any sickness at all with either of my pregnancies and i now have two very healthy children.

Please try not too worry and congratulations

mad4mybaby · 01/04/2008 13:20

hey mrsmattie! Your only just out of our due nov group! Im 6+1 and just have waves of nausea. I read that progesteron (sp) that causes the sickness kicks in around weeks7-8 so it may just be too early. Also some women dont get ANY sickness at all! The lucky people

Pidge · 01/04/2008 13:22

MrsMattie - 5 weeks is pretty early to be feeling sick - you may yet find it kicks in in the next fortnight.

And if not - well I know several women who were not sick at all in pregnancy, not even mildly nauseous. Lucky, lucky them!

Congratulations.

midnightexpress · 01/04/2008 13:22

I had none at all, and like Womba, I've got two very healthy children. Think yourself lucky.

MrsMattie - I bet you'll be rueing the day you posted this message once you get to about 7/8 weeks! But look, even if you're not sick, don't worry - not everyone is.

MissusH · 01/04/2008 13:24

I am 14wks and my sickness started around week 7/8 so there is still time....

doggiesayswoof · 01/04/2008 13:25

Don't worry.

Some women get none at all without it being a sign of anything.

Chances are in a couple of weeks you will be giving a hollow laugh at the memory of this thread. 2nd time round mine kicked in a bit later and I thought I had got away with it. It was also a different kind of morning sickness - my two pgs have not been similar at all.

MrsMattie · 01/04/2008 13:37

Thank you everyone :-) I have to admit, I am terrified of something going wrong with this pregnancy and it is still such early days - I just want to be able to relax and enjoy things, but can't.

Week 6 I asked my sister if it was OK to feel fine, no sickness or soreness or anything. Week 9 I was in hospital with hyperemisis. I hope you havn't spoken too soon.

Oh don't!@AHLH! I chucked up roughly once a an hour for a whole 18 weeks of my pregnancy last time, but it started at 4/5 weeks, so that's why it feels weird this time.

thanks for all the replies, though! xx

my sickness did nor appear until about 7-8 weeks and i too panicked but just had 13 week scan and all is well so do not worry. i had a mm/c and i had the sickness up until the scan when they told me it had died 4 weeks before. i think it is more the fatigue you should be wary of, if it goes suddenly but then that is my experience, i am still shattered now and occasionaly get the urge to retch which i hate!! crisps and coke do the trick though not so good on my gestational diabetes!

lollipopmother · 01/04/2008 16:14

My sickness didn't appear until 6 weeks, I didn't start hurling until gone 8 weeks. A lady at my work didn't feel ill at any stage of her pregnancy and she had her baby a month ago.

biglips · 01/04/2008 16:16

didnt get ms in my first pg...but i do in my 2nd pg!

Pinkchampagne · 01/04/2008 16:21

I didn't get any morning sickness at all when pregnant with my boys. My mum never suffered morning sickness when expecting me or my sister.

Pinkali37 · 02/04/2008 11:06

Hello MrsMattie (think you're on the due Nov thread)... I started with nausea at 5 1/2 weeks but now i'm 7 wk 5 days and it has totally gone! Now that worried me so i am having my levels checked. First lot ok at 16,000 so waiting for tomorrows to be checked too. We don't stop worrying do we lol

cyteen · 02/04/2008 12:54

Congrats MrsMattie I'm 19 weeks pg with my first baby and haven't had any sickness at all. I did worry a lot about it in the first three months, that I wasn't feeling 'as I should', but so far everything has been fine. Just try and enjoy it as much as possible!

Pinkali37 · 02/04/2008 14:34

Has anyone had ms/nausea that only lasted 2 weeks then suddenly stopped?

AutumnLady · 02/04/2008 17:00

I've not had any sickness at all and i'm 16 weeks now. just felt very tired and drained and had a face full of spots for a week or so. Was a bit worried that it's not normal to get nothing, but am considering myself very lucky at the same time!

thomasina1 · 02/04/2008 17:05

Hi, a similar question from me too... I am 6-7wks, just started to get serious nausea in last few days, especially bad yesterday. But then nothing today. Does it vary much from day-to-day?
I am now terrified and keep feeling by breats to check they are still tender! (yes I know, I look like a weirdo!). Any thoughts?

Pinkali37 · 02/04/2008 17:10

Ooh Thomasina1... Me too... apparently it can stop and start. I've felt fine for the past 3 days which totally worried me. So much that I spoke with the mw who then put me into an even larger state of shock and told me to ring the EPAU, the lady there told me to ring my doctors. So yesterday (like a mad woman) i made them test my blood and send it off urgently. got the result back as 16,000 which is very definitely pregnant and having it done again tomorrow. think I'm being more paranoid than anything but pregnancy does just make you worry.

thomasina1 · 02/04/2008 17:18

Thanks Pinkali37, that has put my mind at rest... a little! can you tell this is my first?! Anyway i have a scan booked for Friday (early scan recommended due to my PCOS) so at least I should find out one way or the other.
Aaargh... this whole thing is a nightmare as we've not told anyone yet. Any I don't want to worry DH with my "lack of symptoms" today in case it turns out to be OK. So this message board is a lifesaver!

Pinkali37 · 02/04/2008 17:21

This is also my first and after m/c last October I am utterly worried about every single symptom and lack of. It doesn't help that my sister is 8 weeks ahead of me and seems to be having a stereotypical pregnancy.

I had an early scan too due to m/c and was 6 wks 5 days (thought I was 7 so not too far out), had to do internal in the end as couldn't see heartbeat but then there it was beating away and I just could not believe that little thing was inside me. Still can't believe it, which is why I suppose I am super sensitive to ms disappearing. Let me know how you get on with the scan and also with the ms.
