@NSC1980 Hopefully you'll get positive results today... its so stressful wondering..I opted not to go for HCG testing at the doctors but now I'm thinking I should have... I'm going to take a cleaeblue digital today to see if I get a 3+. I'm just 5 weeks today, my bloating has subsided and my breasts aren't as tender. I hope its just fluctuating hormones, I seemed to get strong symptoms early this time around so im finding it strange they have disappeared to some extent... hopefully we can relax about our pregnancies soon 🙏

NSC1980 · 25/04/2024 07:03

@Aoife2024 I'm kind of wishing I didn't go for the HCG tests now as has made it all more stressful. I did it because I'm going away with my mum and sister for my mum's birthday this weekend and I wanted to share the good news with them. Just hoping for a miracle today. I did a Clearblue digital at exactly 5 weeks (which was Saturday) and got 2–3 weeks – I hope you have better luck! Fingers crossed all round.

Aoife2024 · 25/04/2024 07:10

@Synergy94 it's so worrying when symptoms disappear.. I think we're just so focused in on it , we're noticing every change. When I was pregnant with my daughter nearly 4 years ago, I don't think I had any symptoms early on... hopefully things will come right. I'm a bit worried as I had no morning sickness with my last pregnancy which ended in a miscarriage at9 weeks but every pregnancy is so different, its hard to say

Aoife2024 · 25/04/2024 07:12

@NSC1980 yes I know what you mean, looking at numbers can make things worse in a way. I'm due to go on holidays on may20th so I think I'll have to do a hcg test by then if I don't get called for an early scan

catmumma84 · 25/04/2024 07:48

I’m also super worried and up all night googling and reading things - glad to hear we’re not alone 😟
did the midwife do the hcg test or the gp?
when I called the gp to tell them they just told me to self refer to the midwife x

RedRobyn2021 · 25/04/2024 08:10

5+5 today and I thought I was going to be sick this morning. Managed to get myself up and dressed, couldn't eat breakfast, took my dog out and the fresh air made me feel so much better thank god.

Aoife2024 · 25/04/2024 08:11

@RedRobyn2021 is that your first hint of nausea do you mind me asking...hope you manage okay...I rem in past having to eat first thing before it got chance to take over!

GreenPickle · 25/04/2024 08:26

I'm either 4 or 5 weeks today (I ovulate around week 3!) and driving myself crazy looking at line progression threads and just scaring myself. I am about 14/15dpo (I think!).

Self referred myself yesterday - does anyone know how long it takes for them to get back to you? Going into free fall as I know anything can happen 😰 but trying to keep positive!

Harribo86 · 25/04/2024 10:46

Can't remember if anyone's talked about this, But today I've had some spotting. Honestly barely anything and v pale pink. But I want to check others experiences.

I've had on and off mild cramps since I found out I was pregnant, which I also hear is quite normal. Slightly sore boobs as from 3 days ago.

The worry is so tough!

ChocolateLemons · 25/04/2024 10:47

Just wondering how extra or not everyone is about the what you can and can't eat while pregnant? (I think I'm probably in the extra camp and wondering if I'm being over the top!). Are you googling everything/just sticking to NHS - what are you doing about eating out? Thanks

UnicornPrincessSarah · 25/04/2024 11:35

Hi @pinkpetunias are you 6+2 today?

I'm erring on the side of caution with eating and drinking! I don't drink caffeine or alcohol so that's been easy but I'm also being conscious about what I'm eating in terms of getting enough of the right stuff my body needs right now (I'm veggie which doesn't make it easy!). Personally, I don't think it hurts to be cautious around certain foods so long as you're nourishing yourself well :)

Molly4689 · 25/04/2024 11:49

@greenpickle I asked for Progestrone and they'll only provided it after a scan. I had it in my last pregnancy with DS due to bleeding and had a miscarriage before that so I was eligible for it because of bleeding in two previous pregnancies. I find early pregnancy really difficult too, I hate not having any control over what's going to happen. I feel like time has really slowed down the last few weeks and I just want to get to 12 weeks already!

starryx · 25/04/2024 11:54

6+1 today and oh my the nausea is starting to hit bad and the tiredness!!! Definitely hormones are ramping up as I've started having loads of discharge. With a few cramps

Sorry for your loss 🤍

Thank you! This is my first pregnancy so just spiralling over everything. Keep getting stuck in the rabbit holes of progression lines etc and have taken about 4000000 tests! Going to take a final week's indicator one tomorrow and leave it that 🤞

RedRobyn2021 · 25/04/2024 13:12

@Aoife2024 I've had nausea but this is the first time I thought I might be sick. I had HG with my first so I've been taking medication since the first sign of nausea. I just don't want to get into the state I did last time

As the day has gone on I've been ok, just felt so tired, I think I might make myself have an early night tonight

RedRobyn2021 · 25/04/2024 13:14

Have you had any luck getting some medicine from your GP @littlepanda88 ?

littlepanda88 · 25/04/2024 13:54

@RedRobyn2021 hey! Aww yes I finally got some cyclizine yesterday, they said if I get worse then they would prescribe something stronger. I'm mainly feeling the nausea in the mornings and have to eat before it goes away! How are you feeling?

First pregnancy here and yeah I'm googling when in doubt, I probably ate some things very early when I didn't know I was pregnant but now I'm trying to eat more greens and avoiding anything that might be a concern

Quolla · 25/04/2024 15:25

I tend to be quite cautious so follow the NHS. I'm in Sweden though so some recommendations are maybe a bit different (we can eat sushi if it's from a restaurant, eggs are fine even if raw I think etc). I followed that in my last pregnancy and tried not to stress but it's hard! I did look up the stats though and the number of for example, fetal toxoplasmosis cases are really rare. I'm going to read "Expecting Better" this time to hopefully get more stats. I'll still avoid things we're "meant" to of course, but if you do accidentally eat some blue cheese it might make me panic less 😅

Lunamoon23 · 25/04/2024 16:31

5weeks 5 days today, finally getting over this good awful cold/cough I've had and starting to feel a little normal. This poor little foetus hasn't half been through it already haha.
Boobs are still quiet tender, more so first thing in the morning, don't really notice it too much throughout the day, had moments on slight nausea but they pass quickly, the cramps have eased off but have been getting lower right sided pains, on and off which I've read is round ligament pain (all part of your uterus stretching)
I'm hungry quite a lot !! But also, once I eat a meal, the bloat is REAL! I look months pregnant after eating haha! Also peeing a lot more but otherwise feeling good and just glad I'm starting to feel better. Awful being so unwell and being able to take nothing but paracetamol! X

When I had my phone call off the midwive to book my first appointments, she told me I can eat whatever I want bare a couple things:

Pate
Smoked fish
Meat that is rare
Cured meats that aren't cooked (so pepperoni pizza is fine but pepperoni from a packet isn't)
Blue cheese, Brie and Camembert.
That was it ..

She said eggs are fine, even runny aslong as they have the red lion stamp on the eggs.

Luckily, I don't eat most of the above, bar Camembert (I'll miss that) and cured meats, as I love salami, chorizo etc but aslong as it's cooked beforehand it's safe!

It it's just a little spotting, I don't believe it's anything to be concerned about, they usually say if it's enough to fill a sanitary towel then it's cause for concern.

As for the cramps, in the first trimester I think that's very normal. I've had that also, it's your uterus expanding ready for your growing baby. Of course unless the cramps are debilitating and not going away. But mine were more like period pain cramps and they'd come for like 15 minutes and then ease off - totally get it's so hard not to overthink everything though!

Aoife2024 · 25/04/2024 17:04

@NSC1980 any update on your hcg levels? I took a digital test and it's reading 2-3 weeks and I'm 5 weeks, 1 day.... I think I'm going to cut out the testing now and wait for my scan...

Sorry to intrude! I am also going mental with tests 😂 convincing myself of so many issues.

did you ovulate in the middle of your cycle? I had to shave a week off how many weeks I am because I ovulate a week later so could that be affecting it? I use pregnancy+ as flo still has me at 5 weeks instead of 4!
