I'm also waking up super early! I suffered with really bad insomnia from 2nd trimester so I'm not looking forward to that again!

Harribo86 · 22/04/2024 20:07

@Synergy94 yeah that's the same as me! I have done lots of reassurance checking and I do see lots about 'side pain' being normal.
Just want that early scan!

I do think I've had very very slight boob tingles today, but I don't know if it's my head.

I saw an insta today about this girl saying how she felt she skipped all the symptoms then suddenly they all hit her at once, it was funny how she did it but also made think, uh oh... is it coming!

Synergy94 · 22/04/2024 20:28

@Harribo86 When did you book your early scan for? I don’t know whether to do 7 weeks and 5 days or 8 weeks and 5 days. I’ve had the booking page open all evening 😅 My boobs just feel like they do before my period but the feeling comes and go. I’d been feeling a little nauseous before dinner the last few evenings but have been fine tonight and rather than feeling tired, I feel more energised than ever (maybe it’s the vitamins I’m now taking 😂)

I booked it for 8 + 4. Mostly because my hubby is away and that was the next time we could do. I'd have done sooner if I could.

Yeah I suppose my boob feeling was a bit like period feelings but it's so minimal.

Knowing my luck, I'll get sickness and really sore boobs and wonder what I was worried about and wish they'd go away!

RosePombear · 22/04/2024 21:57

I’ve been feeling so nauseous today. No actual sickness yet but I’ve really struggled to carry on with day-to-day tasks as I’ve just felt so sick. I forgot how emotionally and physically draining the first trimester can be!.

Oh no, I hope I haven’t got this to come! I sleep very well usually

curiouscat1987 · 22/04/2024 22:41

@catmumma84 yep am on levo, but the few weeks before i found out i was pregnant i was really bad at remembering to take it! Might chase my gp then to request tests.

RedRobyn2021 · 23/04/2024 09:23

5+3 today and feeling mildly nauseous this morning.

I am sorry to bring this up but it's something that's worrying me.

Is anyone else concerned about their weight?

Not for vanity reasons particularly, but remembering that I was so uncomfortable at the end of my last pregnancy.

I am actually a stone heavier than I was at the start of my last pregnancy and in my last I gained 3.5 stone, I was soooo uncomfortable from 36 weeks on (I went to almost 42). Looking back I did eat a lot (I used to feel angry when I was hungry) but I stuck to mainly whole foods but my body gained a lot, i was walking my dog twice a day and doing 7-10K steps right up until labour. it was all gone by 9month pp probably due to breastfeeding.

But the thought of being a stone heavier and having to carry that around fills me with dread

RedRobyn2021 · 23/04/2024 09:25

@RedRobyn2021 like rolling over in bed and having to get up from the sofa. A being boiling hot every time I took the dog out and feeling physically like I was carry a weighted backpack on my front 24/7

RedRobyn2021 · 23/04/2024 09:26

Also, not being able to eat much in a sitting, having heartburn all the time and the worst one, not being able to take a full breath

MotherofGods · 23/04/2024 10:36

booked in for my first appointment on the 7th may! Been wanting a early scan but the times do t fit around my partner:( xxx

curiouscat1987 · 23/04/2024 10:56

@RedRobyn2021 yes im worried about this too. Before my last pregnancy i was in the best shape id ever been, then got pregnant, got severe spd and couldnt walk and piled on the weight. Then it never came off post pregnancy. So im now wayyyyy overweight and dreading the impact this is gonna have on making the spd worse! Not to mention overall comfort, breathing etc like you mentioned. 😒

RedRobyn2021 · 23/04/2024 11:04

@curiouscat1987

Yes, it's honestly not about the way I look, it's about how I'm going to feel physically.

I'm sure I've heard that if it's your second you're so busy running around after the first you don't gain as much. I hope this is true

I hope it's also true that the pregnancy goes faster 😂 I am very impatient, I want my baby

RedRobyn2021 · 23/04/2024 11:29

I have just spoken with the midwife unit about self referral and they wanted to know which hospital I would be birthing at, I picked the hospital I'd like scans for etc but mentioned I will be having a home birth (this is what I'd did with my daughter)

The response was immediately negative, it made me so angry I had to hold back saying anything. I didn't even bother telling them I've already appointed a private midwife to take over from 32 weeks. The fact that I have zero health concerns and have birthed at home with my last baby is irrelevant immediately the response was the negative. I feel so angry that that woman felt like she had a right to comment on my choices, this my body, I'll do what I bloody well like. I'm actually shaking with anger.

starryx · 23/04/2024 16:43

Booked my early scan for 8+1 just as I didn't want to do it too immediate in case I'm maybe not as far gone as anticipated.

Cherryblossom9220 · 23/04/2024 17:45

Hello!
I hope it is okay to join!
I'm currently 4+5 so still quite early! Due 26th! I have a 4 year old! Miscarried in 2019 and in January, both around 12 weeks! Feeling very anxious, constantly checking for bleeding! Reading through the messages I can see quite a few that will understand the difficulty with pregnancy after loss! I'm not feeling too much! Cramps around when my period was due, but that has since subsided! And fatigue! Hoping that it's all a bit early and I will feel more soon!
I hope everyone is doing okay! 😊

Congrats! Same due date!! (although I think mine might be a week off because I ovulate at around CD20)!

First baby and too scared to take another preggo test 🫣

Hope all goes well for you!

What is the process of telling doctors/midwife etc?

Xx

CaptainCabinets · 23/04/2024 18:38

I caved and got my colleague to scan me today! By my calculations (which might be slightly off because this is a surprise pill baby!) I’m 5w6d. We only have an abdominal ultrasound machine at work so we weren’t expecting to see an awful lot, but we found a yolk sac in the right place 😁 no fetal pole yet as probably still too little but we’re trying again next week (and probably weekly until I give birth because she’s as excited as I am 😂)

I’m so sorry they were so negative, I can see why you’re so angry. I also am planning on a home birth (had one with DD) and have noticed a lot of people have negative reactions and you’re encouraged to have a hospital birth and not go against the grain. Hopefully after seeing you they will be more positive.

Harribo86 · 23/04/2024 19:09

Hey ladies

I'm having fairly strong stomach cramps, and what feels like a weird sharp pain down below, kinda hard to describe . No bleeding or anything. Feels like period pains basically.

Anyone had this? My paranoia is next level.

Congratulations - it’s my first baby too 🥹

I didn’t have to contact the GP, just complete an online self referral form but if you’re unsure it’s definitely worth ringing your GP and the receptionists can let you know the process.

Cherryblossom9220 · 23/04/2024 19:25

Congratulations @GreenPickle
Even being my second I'm still terrified ha!
I think it depends on the area, but I completed an online self referral through the hospital! There should be information on your hospital website! But if you're unsure then contact your gp! :)

RedRobyn2021 · 23/04/2024 19:44

@RosePombear I've met loads of mums that tell me they wanted a Homebirth but weren't able to because of lack of support. It's not about Homebirth anyway, i would feel the same if I'd asked for a section and been dismissed like that, like I don't have a choice over my own body. It was the language she used, it was horrible.

I have had a lot of sharp cramps, I didn't have it with my first pregnancy either so I was concerned but they have been on and off for a while now.

I'm hope you're ok and not worrying to much x

RedRobyn2021 · 23/04/2024 19:49

@GreenPickle

I think it depends on your area but you can either ring your local midwife unit (you can find their number via Google on nhs) or you can ring your gp.

One thing that's been different this time is my local has gone paperless and they're all online now
